Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI asked for a single room and it was a bit small, still comfortable though. I think I will book a double next time.
I had a great stay, really friendly staff, always with a smile. The location was really good, quiet but close to the museums and only minutes away from the tram stop. Would recommend and will be returning.

ColombiaThe beds were very narrow. We had a three-bed room, we expected a normal-size (queen) double bed and a single bed, but the double bed was just two super narrow beds together. Not much space in the room. One of the guys in the reception didn't know anything about leaving our rented bikes outside, was not helpful at all.
Excellent location, very close to all the museums and the wonderful Vondelpark. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The room was small and a bit crowded. The window was very small and facing a wall. There was elevator and racks outside to strap your bike during your stay. The Latino guy at the reception was super nice and and helpful.

HungaryInstead of having a mini safe in the room it would be better a mini refrigerator.

AustraliaIt was a very small room for 3x adults (we booked a room for 3 adults). Some beds pushed up against walls and hard to walk around, no space to put 3x suitcases on the floor. Very cramped but comfortable for sleeping and fit the purpose.
Great location, clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom and good shower. Friendly staff. Check in & out process was easy.

Czech RepublicThe only problem was that a lot of water would leak from under the glass door in the shower, leaving a big puddle, even though we were very careful.
Staff was really friendly, and the breakfast was amazing, i still miss the baguettes and croissants. Another great thing is the location, so close to both the Vondelpark and the Rijksmuseum. I would definitely choose this hotel if i was visiting again!

ItalyBeing in the basement, we didn't have very high expectations, but we couldn't get the temperate/humidity of the room quite right and it was uncomfortable at times. The bathroom is quite small. The structure of the shower in the bathroom allows water to get out onto the floor so towels are needed on the floor.
The room was a decent size for two people and it was very clean when we arrived. The staff were prompt to assist us when needed (e.g. providing extra pillows, storing our bags after check out). One morning, we took advantage of breakfast and it was pretty good.

NetherlandsMy only recommendation is to add a little fridge/minibar to the rooms.
We had a great stay here. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and clean, and they were cleaned every day even on days we left the hotel relatively late. The staff was very nice and attentive and helped us with all of our needs. The location is impeccable. We’d definitely come back 😀

South AfricaWe had a ground floor room which was surprisingly quiet despite street / pavement facing, the only "noise" was from inside the building, assuming plumbing, which was audible if people showered - at least we think so. Wifi was slow. Both would not stop us from staying again.
Great location! in walking distance of the museums district and a few restaurants and about 15-20 min walk to the inner city and canals which is absolutely doable as it's a walk past the Rijksmuseum and canals or through the Vondelpark.

IrelandRoom was small, and beds were lumpy. Carpet looked as if it needed a good shampoo. No ironing facilities in room- no space anyway. No fridge in room. Breakfast selection OK.
Great location, behind Concertgebouw in museum quarter- Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum less than 5 minutes walk. Supermarket and trams 3 mins walk( at Concertgebouw). Staff on reception very helpful and pleasant. Air con worked well. Plenty of hot water. Repair on shower door required when we checked in - done next day. Nespresso machine in room.

United StatesThe staff could have been a bit friendlier and I don't understand why hotel breakfasts are so expensive...this was true at all of the hotels. We did not try the breakfast because I have a restricted diet which definitely makes it not worth the hefty pricetag. While they had bikes to rent from the hotel, the bike quality was poor, and the rental was expensive. Renting a bike at a bike rental shop ahead of arrival is recommended...the bike shops that we went to were sold out day of.
We enjoyed that this hotel had very close access to the city trams, as well as it's close proximity to Vondelpark, the Museum Quarter, a local grocery and is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. This was our first trip to Amsterdam. Having a bike to get around in this city is key...in the future when we return we will likely stay a little further into the main historic area or make sure bikes are included in the hotel rates.

FinlandThe machine that can be used to make coffee and tea still had water that somebody else had put in it and also the lid was behind the table on the floor. The metal spoons provided were nasty. The hairdryer was a little burned so we didn't dare to try use it.
The air conditioning worked really well. We were able to lower the room temperature. The windows could be opened. The water pressure in the shower and the bathroom overall worked well. The beds were clean and comfortable.

IrelandThe only thing I didn't like was that if we came back to the room late at night we were asked our room number and name. I understand it's for safety reasons but there could be a key reader at the door to let guests in instead of being asked to confirm your details as you're on the way to bed
Comfy beds, clean room and facilities. Excellent location for museums and close enough to the center of the city but far enough away that you don't feel overwhelmed
