The car parking was very difficult in spite of instructions from the hotel. Also the bedroom allocated to our brother and his wife ( room11) was not suitable for a couple who are both aged over 80. Perhaps we should have mentioned this at the time but as it was a one night booking they did not do this.

The hotel was beautifully furnished and the staff were all very welcoming and professional. The menu in the restaurant was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner. The location was perfect and we were impressed with our first visit to Deventer.

Again, or still, the lack of a desk, or something, to put a laptop on and get some work done in comfort.

The Huis Vermeer is one of those hotels I am sad to leave and cannot wait to return to. It's comfortable, beautiful and unmatched in every way and the staff are, without fail, delightful and eager to assist.

Less noise from the kitchen staff below our room.

Friendly staff going out of their way to deal with language differences and to provide a safe place to lock up our bicycles (we were doing a hotel to hotel trip planned ourselves). Beautiful rooms. Very good meals.

We loved everything!! It was a dream...the best Hotel ever...I hardly ever stay in hotels..1% of my holidays...but this Hotel was nothing like typical hotels ..I never stay in Hotels in the USA and never will Hotel Vermeer was outstanding superb in every way!! Best sweetest staff!!

The hotel is set in an old building that still boasts most of the interior, but made comfortable and very atmospheric. It’s in a great location, opposite the large church, and all the little streets are in walking distance. Parking was not too difficult in the area. Staffs were very helpful and friendly. Beds were very comfortable (only one pillow though) and so was the bathroom with bath and shower. There’s a restaurant that gets good reviews and a breakfast service - we didn’t use either of them so can’t review those.

If you do not like a room under the roof. You may not like it.

Looking for modern design is not here for sure. If you enjoy Antique and classic design this hotel is your first option.

The staff took very long to come to the front desk at check-in. When he turned up at last, he reeked of cigarette smoke. He saw me when I arrived, asked for me to wait a bit, I waited quite a while and then he turned up smelling of cigarette smoke.

It's a beautiful old townhouse on a lovely square dominated by the church, small, freindly bars, restaurants and a gelato cafe. The town is equally delightful and a short walk. The hotel and staff were lovely. The served breakfast was fresh, with lovely ingredients. Pity it was only a stopover stay, would love to try the restaurant. Very convenient if visiting Thermen Bussloo and don't want to stay at the Thermen.

Loved everything about our stay!

Perfect location in the city center, near all the restaurants and shops. The hotel is very characteristic and the room very comfortable. We asked for 2 beds as we were two friends traveling which was already arranged before we arrived. What really made it for us was the staff, everyone was genuinely friendly from check-in to the restaurant. We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of cava which they kindly replaced to 0% alcohol as I am pregnant. The breakfast was served at the table and although simple it was just perfect and we really enjoyed it. Couldn’t fault this hotel if I tried and we’d recommend it to everyone for a quick stay in Deventer!

Bike parking wasn’t good. We were offered to put our bikes in the rear courtyard, but only when the last guests had finished eating, which was too late for us. The only option was to lock them to the rack at the front of the hotel (though this was at least covered by a security camera). Breakfast was nice, but it wasn’t buffet style, so to get more coffee you had to wait for a staff member and they seemed to be busy elsewhere.

Well located in the town centre a few minutes walk from the main square. Very smart.

Nothing I didn't like though it would have been nice to have a bar to sit at though there are plenty within a few mins walk from the hotel to which we were signposted by the hotel staff.

Breakfast was excellent. All staff were charming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble - I couldn't get Netflix to work initially an a member of staff came to the room twice to sort things out successfully.
