Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomParking is on the street and around €24 per day though you are 5 minutes walk from the centre of Arnhem english language ticket machines are easy to use.
The room was on the top floor there is no lift but the charecter of the building makes the stairs worth it. The greeting was very welcoming and at breakfast, they even had gluten-free selection. The location is perfect for the park and we found a fabulous restaurant 'Schaffa Van Arnhem' just up the road.

GermanyThe old building from around 1900 is absolutely stunning and beautiful and located next to a big park. It was very quiet and picturesque. Our room was a good size for two people and the breakfast room and little outside garden area was great for having a coffee or breakfast.

NetherlandsSome furniture seemed neglected and needed renovation. I was lacking a book to read, there were only fashion magazines downstairs..
The view from the corner room was gorgeous, I liked all the small details from the origin of the building. The atmosphere and architecture is incredible.

United KingdomDidn’t affect us as weather not hot, but I don’t think there was aircon. Huge windows mitigate this.
Historic building with wonderful original features. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Balcony and terrace with table and chairs were delightful !! Very highly recommended.

Truly beautiful hotel with friendly, engaged staff. Soft sparkly clean beds that make you feel like royalty. Within walking distance of the city centre and train station. If you're into Art Nouveau or like monumental buildings you're sure to have an amazing experience, we will definitely be returning if we stay in Arnhem again.

United KingdomA beautiful old building, very near to the town centre but quiet at night. 5 minutes walk to transport hub, train station and the great selection of bars, cafes and restaurants. Lovely large room with french doors to the balcony which we could leave open overnight in the ‘heatwave’. We knew there would be no lift and chose a second floor room - we managed the stairs (Just - we are in our 70s after all!) but some might find them challenging. The staff were very relaxed and helpful. We found the people of Arnhem friendly and laid back and we really enjoyed the ambience.

NetherlandsA small detail but I'd suggest getting better curtains for the room as they do not block out the light very well so the room is quite bright early in the morning already. The price was also quite expensive but I suppose all hotels increase the price when there is a big event happening in Gelredome.
The building is beautiful and so nicely decorated! The location is also perfect, very close to the central station and a close proximity to GelreDome (by bus or Uber). The staff was also lovely and very welcoming!

NetherlandsWe would have loved to have breakfast but in weekends it doesn't start till 8:30 which conflicted with our train time. The room, although very pleasant, was quite small to move around in.
Gorgeous old house conveniently located near the train station, very kind staff, lovely main area to sit in, lots of tasty treats served with tea. Walking up the stairs is a joy with all the lovely old pieces of furniture, the lead light windows, the many colours of paint. Fridge and kettle in the room.

BelgiumUpon check out (at 11.30), I would have liked to have a beer at the bar; but non-alcoholic beverage only. However, this might be a local Dutch law forbidding hotel bars selling alcohol outside specific time brackets.
Nearly everything perfect. Great staff, room, service, friendliness. Most comfortable bed! Minibar (at reasonable prices), free WiFi, breakfast available.

United KingdomA little problem not offering meals but the bars and restaurants are close so not a major issue. The only real problem is our room was on 3rd floor, not bad for us because we're Mobile and fit but advice on booking needs to mention people will need to be able to climb stairs
Location is perfect right on the edge of the centre but not close enough to be to noisy

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice big room and very homely style. Good breakfast with a variety of cereals, yoghurt meats, pates and cheeses as well as eggs, cakes, bread, croissant etc. Breakfast room doubled as a nice lounge/conservatory and bar. Only a short walk to the city centre, but a quiet and pretty location. Not far from railway station.

NetherlandsIf you are super sensitive to small noises, like floor creaking, or people talking on the corridor. Or you just love to speak loud at night, then you might want to consider a different place. Also I prefer harder beds because of my back, but nothing concerning.
Super consistent design. When you walk past these beautiful buildings, you often wish if you could check them out from the inside. Well, now you can. With all these details comes the permanent vibe which makes this experience memorable. The location is in walking distance to the city center, and although the train station is close, i heard no trains during my stay.

New ZealandAll good.
Location was close to the train station and the old town. The hotel was quaint with lots of character and great views. Our train was an hour late and so I wrote to the office about our delay. Brent in the office reassured us that he would still be there later at 10pm to receive us. He even carried our luggage up the stairs for us.
