How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The guest house was just perfect. It was very quiet, the bed super comfortable. The room and bathroom were spacious. Nicole was very friendly and more than happy to assist with anything we needed however everything we needed was provided in the room such as tea, coffee, small fridge, table and chairs. Will definitely come back again when in Maastricht in the future. Free parking available. Also a bus into town was convenient, even possible to walk to town.

Everything was great during our stay. From the cleanliness of the room to the incredible breakfast ! Nicole loves to welcome people and she stays available if you need any help. We will definetely come back.

Nicole was a perfect hostess! She makes you feel like you belong to her family! The appartment was very elegant with very nice details! I will definitely come back!

All perfect.
Very friendly hosts who were happy to give suggestions about cycling routes. The breakfast was very good in a lovely room. You can also sit on the terrace surrounded by hydrangeas. Our room had air conditioning which was a nice surprise. Bedroom and sitting area was enormous and beautifully decorated. Very large modern bathroom. Free bikes were provided because they are slightly far from the heart of the city. My husband left behind a key and Nicole raced to the train station to catch us. Very kind.

Lovely large bedroom and bathroom. Very thoughtfully decorated. Super king size bed and a choice of pillows made for a good couple of nights sleep. We took the bus into Maastricht which takes 12 minutes or so and decided to walk back which is about 30 minutes. The host pointed us in the direction of a lovely little local Italian restaurant just 5 minutes walk from the property. Great host, good communication and a fabulous continental breakfast. A great 2-night stay.

I can't say enough good things about our stay. Our room was somehow even better than the photos suggest. There was an entire private kitchen in our room with coffee and tea available. Nicole and Gus were very nice and accommodating. We appreciated the ride from the train station after our arrival. Breakfast each morning was exceptional. Hopefully someday we can come back again during the summer so we can enjoy the lovely garden terrace.

We really enjoyed our stay. Nicole and Gus were very attentive and made sure everything was as we wished for. Room is big, clean, quiet, and it has all what you need. We had a personalized welcome note and chocolates. Breakfast was amazing and they had arranged gluten free bread for my wife. The location is also very good and close to the city centre. Bikes were also available. Really fantastic so thank you Nicole and Gus!

everything was great! The hosts are super friendly. they took the time to have a drink with us and give us tips and directions after checkin. The rooms are large and very well appointed.

Location is a little away from city, but fine if you have a car. Did not feel very independent, as this is a home therefore any delays to the check-in time and the hosts get anxious!

Only small things - bed could be less soft, my wife had a trouble with wifi in bedroom.
Really fantastic! Kind and helpful owner, great breakfasts, cleannes, perfect equipped kitchen, bikes free for using, parking in front of the house....

it wasn’t a problem for us; consider the apartment is on the first floor, you will need to carry up your luggage
we were very pleased with everything! spacious, with attention to every detail, cohesive Nordic design, bike to our use (though it was rainy and we preferred our car), free parking on the street no problem with that, easy to drive into the city center and out to the villages surrounded, and very pleasant owners, always available yet not sticky. we will definitely come back!

Absolutely nothing!
Thank you for staying in this beautiful apartment in a historic house, furnished with great attention to detail. We really liked the tasteful mixture of modern furnishings and antiques. With the bicycles provided, we were very quickly in the city. A very special starting point to discover the city. We'd love to come back.

Everything was perfect, beautiful apartment, beautiful surroundings, kind, helpful and flexible host. Super breakfast, free bike, very good location. Our host came to pick us up at the train station. The apartment is spacious and super clean and perfectly equipped, the beds are comfortable. I can only recommend it, if we go back to the city we will definitely stay here.

Like having your own luxury apartment in Maastricht! Loved the space, comfort and cleanliness. Nicole is the perfect host and most helpful with recommendations and tips. Borrowing their bicycles meant we felt like locals going into town in under 10’. Really the most perfect stay!
