Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeWe didn't have much of a view, as it faced the carpark across the street. So the blinds that were given were good to help ensure privacy, but also let the sun in. There was a 2-in-1 type of soap (for hair and body), so would recommend for those who need more targeting soap (e.g., shampoo and conditioner) to bring their own. The shower was a bit small, considering its length, as we needed to angle the shower head in a specific direction to reduce the amount of splash that would be outside the toilet.
The location was near enough to the central area, but off the main road. So despite the fair going on (until 12am!), there wasn't really any sounds that we heard from that. The room was available early despite our early arrival, and the staff were attentive. We had some issues with the TV, which they fixed right away. The room was decently sized, ample space that 2 luggage opened did not hinder our regular movements.

United KingdomI found the layout a bit confusing. There was some refurbishment work on a lower floor and I ended up in the middle of it but the decorator kindly showed me the way to the lift.
The location was great. It was an easy walk from the station and a member of staff helpfully contacted me before I arrived and gave me some arrival information. Our room overlooked the main market square which was entertaining but still quiet. Nice bar and a good breakfast.

PortugalNothing negative to note. All as expected.
Even though the room decor was a bit aged, it was still well presented, very clean and comfortable. I understand that the hotel was going through a renovation though but it was all very pleasent, very good for the purpose and very well located. Just not worthy of a 9 or 10 but will most likely improve once they finish the refurbishment. Overall very good.

NetherlandsThe bathroom was a bath tub with a shower in it. Which is always clumsy. Next to that the shower gel/shampoo was almost empty by checking in. The toilet was on the other side of the hotel room in what looked rebuilt cupboard.

United StatesThe only downside was the shower, which is set inside a small, old‑fashioned tub that narrows at the bottom. You have to stand slightly sideways with one foot toward the front and one toward the back, making it a bit awkward to turn around. Quirky, but not a deal‑breaker—probably great for baths.
Excellent bike parking is available in a large, secure garage just across the street from the hotel. Very nice hotel in an ideal location. The beds were comfortable, the staff kind and helpful, and the restaurant had a modern yet relaxed vibe with good food. We especially loved having a room with a view—our windows opened onto the magnificent market square. It was fun watching the activity throughout the day, both on and off market days. Despite being right on the square, the room was very quiet and peaceful. It felt spacious and comfortable, and we’d gladly stay here again. Tip: We couldn’t leave Den Bosch without trying its most famous treat: the Bossche Bol from Jan de Groot. These fist‑sized cream puffs are covered in a thick layer of glossy dark chocolate and filled with fresh whipped cream—rich, indulgent, and totally worth the line. While waiting, a local told me, “Order two—you’ll eat one and wish you had another.”

United KingdomThe bathrooms are quite compact. The running machine in the fitness centre is a little bit dated compared to some other places I’ve stayed in the area, but it worked just fine. These are only small things though, in general it’s great!
My room was modern, clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and professional, and the location is brilliant. The desk in the room was useful, too.

United KingdomRoom on 5th floor was somewhat noisy because of the proximity of the parking garage for cars and bikes.
Location is excellent but getting there by car isn’t at all easy - maybe because of roadworks and diversions. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

The room was small, because I booked a smaller double bedroom. But it was very nice and felt cosy. We had an inside room but they tried their best to make the inside court look nice by adding some art.
