Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. So beautiful! Very friendly and helpful staff. Cute cats roaming around. Room had really beautiful aesthetics and great soaps etc to use. Snacks available complimentary downstairs were a great touch! One of the best places I stayed at.

Everything was fabulous. The staff was wonderful and the warm welcoming lobby with cozy sitting rooms put it over the top. We loved having coffee, sitting and relaxing before going out for the day. Perfect location for everything. The room was beautiful and made to perfection with all the bells and whistles. It was one of my favorite Hotels ever.

AustraliaThe only downfall was because they have two resident cats that roam we occasionally could smell cat wee (mainly in the lobby area) nothing offensive but was obvious. The only other thing was the hallway near our room smelt very strongly of weed as I think maybe a window was left open, the room however always smelt lovely!
This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in! It had fabulous charm and character throughout! The front desk staff were lovely and attentive. The rooms were well laid out and felt bigger than expected! (Still on the smaller side but that’s Amsterdam for you!). The staff replenish water each day and replace towels/ make the bed when you put out the little sign. Location was perfect! You are far enough out from the tourist area but close enough that you can walk everywhere! We always felt safe. We loved the little seats out the front and would sit to people watch each evening. There is also a little water and snack station in the lobby which was lovely! I would 100% recommend this hotel! It was romantic, cosy and beautiful!

IrelandThere was a tea and coffee station in the lobby. There were no cups or mugs only glass tumblers. When I asked at reception I was told that they just used glass tumblers. I tried to use one making tea from the machine. I presumed they were safe but I nearly scalded myself as I couldn't hold the glass. I told the staff at reception who again said they always use glasses. I said I felt it was very dangerous and a big health and safety issue. I later approached a young man at reception and asked him for a cup and he went into the room behind reception and brought me a cup and saucer, which I was very grateful for. I brought it to my room after I finished my tea so I could use it again but the cleaner took it when cleaning the room. I visited this hotel 2 years ago with my sisters for my roundy birthday and this time it was for our wedding anniversary but I didnt have this problem then. As I was leaving the hotel I overheard a member of staff showing a new guest the tea and coffee station and the first thing the guest said was "Where are the cups" and the staff member said "I'll go down to the kitchen and get them".
The room was very comfortable and the decor was amazing. We like all the little touches,ie the perfume and the water in the fridge and the young man that showed us to our room.

United StatesI was surprised by our room. Booked canal deluxe room and the picture and the room did not match. Online the photo showed room with two windows that opened to the canal/street with large room in pinks and greens zebra print. Where we stayed was in an attic room with one small window faces the canal and the other faces the roof, there was a skylight. The room was still fine just extremely small and I was expecting the photo which I booked from.
Beautiful hotel which is very centrally located. There are many rooms to explore and relax, even a reading room. Everyday beverages and an offering of cookies and candies are presented for the taking.

AustraliaHotel Estherea was just wonderful! It is absolutely gorgeous. The location is just perfect. It is right next to a beautiful canal and easy walk to Amsterdam old town, the 9 streets area and Anne Frank house. It is also an easy walk to a tram stop that can take you to the museum district easily. You are treated so well at this hotel. Nothing is a bother. It is just so pretty too. There is a beautiful lobby area with coffee/tea and sweets/cakes that change every day. All complimentary. The bar area is gorgeous too. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly! I loved it and cannot wait to return!

United KingdomService could be friendlier by some of the front desk staff. We stayed in room 119 and although it was lovely and bright, the smell from the downstairs cafe was quite strong at times and drifted in to the room (even with windows fully shut).
The room was a good size for 3 people and we really appreciated the air conditioning in the summer heat. The amenities were great, so were the drinks and snacks in the foyer. Super comfortable bed and great location (close to walk to everything)

Everything about this jewel of an historic boutique hotel is charming - from the warm welcome on arrival to the beautifully decorated (and very clean) rooms with heavenly beds and excellent air conditioning (important during a minor heat wave!). The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, and throughout the day fresh coffee, flavoured waters, cookies and little cakes are available in the lobby at no charge. The location is absolutely perfect - on the oldest canal in the heart of Amsterdam within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the main attractions. We stayed twice, at the beginning of our trip and at the end, and on both occasions we had a fantastic experience. When we had to change dates at the end of our trip at the last minute, the hotel staff kindly accommodated us and even upgraded our rooms. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and friendly - and we can't wait to come back!
