There was hardly any water in the shower and wash basin, just a trickle, so it was not possible to take a proper shower. Other guests also complained.

We had a room on the second floor and it was noisy - we could hear our neighbours very good. Cleaning was in general OK, we only discovered some dust on the floorlamp.

Fantastic location! Really quiet and in a beautiful region. The breakfast was good and staff was friendly.

However, the room temperature was too hot. We couldn't turn off the heating system.. we barely slept with the window wide open. Besides, the bathroom and lobby toilets both stinked upon our arrival. At night the lights switched off and on; please check the light sensor it might be broken. Lastly, the receptionist asked for my phone number and Email. I gave it to her thinking it was just for the contact information. Well, apparently they send you spam emails and massages without consent.. very irritating

The breakfast, paid 21 euros per person but it was not its money worth. Very often was everything finished and there was no sufficient staff to help.

Everything was close especially with restaurants in the town. Bus transportation was also great.

Even though the sauna room was supposedly open from 7:30h am, by 09:00h it was unfortunately still closed. Breakfast and restaurant are at the expensive side (though all breakfast products were very fresh); better to have dinner in one of the many small eateries in town.

Bedding in the room was super comfortable and the room overall very comfortable and cosy. Surprising good water pressure in the shower (despite the bathroom being a little on the small side). The hotel is located in a great spot: a short walk from the bus station, and also at the foot of the Gulpener hill.

Room stank of cigarettes, when I told the morning hotel staff she started to complain that I was late checking out. I was already out the room but I had a load of gear to strap to my bike. She didnt apologise for the cigarette smoke or anything, just straight to accusing me of checking out late. It was 10 mins past checkout btw. I found it rude and put a damper on my experience there.

Night time hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful in finding a safe spot for my motorbike.

It wasn't really clean just ok. The decor is looking tired and it is in need of renovation but it is a large old building. We found dirty tissues under the bed and we could hear people in the next room. The TV was facing completely the wrong way. There was no kettle in the room just a coffee machine with capsules. Not really a place for a fancy weekend and expensive compared to other places I stayed in the region.

It was easy to find. Check in and out were really easy. The what's app messages were very helpful. Beds were comfortable. Shower was good. The staff were really really friendly.

Low beds, and very very soft. Low chairs No aircon in the room, good fan but no comparison. Staff were mediocre. No restaurant on Sunday and Monday Breakfast was €19, Dinner, haute cuisine, was €22.00. However, its a nice hotel, dont be put off.

Pretty hotel, lovely location. Free minted water, delish. Shower and toilet very spacious. Easy bus routes to Valkenburg, railway station to Maastricht, Brussels, Aachen etc. Gulpen is very beautiful, but everything is very expensive. A litre of beer and two glasses of pop was €22.

The only issue we had was the room didn't have windows you could open as it had a sliding patio door leading onto a balcony. This wouldn't normally be a problem for us but we had our small dog with us and he could easily get out if we left the door open and so it was a little hot at night but we did have a fan to help us keep a little cooler.

The room was large and clean (we had the family suite with 2 TV's). The beds were comfortable and it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was included in our rate and was excellent with plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. We dined in the restaurant on both nights and although not an extensive menu the food was again excellent. Finally the staff were also great and friendly. The town of Grupen which is a short walk away is also wonderful with its' own brewery and is positioned between the beautiful city of Maastricht and the historic city of Aachen just over the border in Germany.

Bed had high wooden frames with squashy mattress so was like a giant child’s bed you couldn’t get out of without tangling with the high wooden mattress frame No air conditioning
