Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyBeds were not comfortable and were on a slant so didn’t sleep all night, exposed mattress with a pillow top was bizarre and seemed low quality, front desk young staff seemed clueless about the second restaurant and were not friendly, breakfast was horrible.
Interesting concept, nice view of city on deck

SlovakiaI discovered that the bedding in my room, specifically the pillows or duvet, was filled with feathers. As I have an allergy, this unfortunately caused me some discomfort during my stay. This detail was not mentioned anywhere during the booking process or in the room description. Additionally, the small fridge was placed inside a wardrobe, causing the wardrobe itself to heat up and, in turn, warm the items I had stored inside the wardrobe.
Very unique. The most memorable part of my stay was the exceptional and unique atmosphere of the SS Rotterdam. It was a fascinating experience to stay on a historic cruise liner, and the character and charm of the ship made the visit feel very special. The history and design are a huge part of the hotel's appeal, and it made for an unforgettable trip. I also appreciated the on-board gift shop, where I was able to purchase a model of the ship as a souvenir.

NetherlandsI booked a superior room, a double bed and i got 2 single beds. The room has carpet wich had stains and was not straight, looked like waves. The curtais also had stains. When reading about the boat, it said there were bars and restaurants. All were closed, except for Lido. So after 23h00, there's nothing to do on board.
Great location. From the deck you get a view over the river, surrounding buildings and water activities. The staff was super. The restaurant was great, delicious food and great staff.

United KingdomThe only thing that could have improved our stay would be to have the 50cent ferry operating for longer hours, to enable a cheap link to the main areas during the middle of the day and into the evening
Very authentic, it’s important to remember you are reliving the experiences of a transatlantic cruise liner from decades ago then you will really enjoy it. Bike hire available which helps with getting into central Rotterdam.

United KingdomOur "cabin" was rather hot and the AC/ ventilation system was barely working and dripped periodically. Sounds worse than it was, but still room for improvement in that regard.
A great opportunity to experience the glamour of Trans Atlantic Ocean liners and to visit a bit of living history. Wonderfully atmospheric to wonder around the decks and to be staying in one of the cabins. The Lido restaurant on board is terrific, we had a great dinner (recommend the brisket or the ribs) and the breakfast is also an excellent big buffet of pretty well anything you could want. Nice views out over the Rhine as you dine. Enjoyed the tour of the engine room the following morning.

NetherlandsNothing, overall a perfect experience.
The hotel room / cabin was nice and spacious. Restaurant served nice food and had good service. The tour through the ship was very interesting specially due to the many volunteers giving a lot of explanations about the ship.

United KingdomI would have liked to have been able to see more of the ship. The tours finish at 5pm. You can then only access certain areas. We had an inside cabin room so it is very dark when you turn the lights off.
The food was very good. We booked to eat in the Lido restaurant and the staff were very attentive. Bed was very comfortable.

United KingdomIt was a unique experience to stay on a ship instead of a regular hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they also looked good in their uniform. Breakfast and meals on board are very nice, and we're well presented. It was easy to get from the ship to the metro station with the shuttle bus or local bus.

GreeceThe room/cabin could do with much better dust control especially around the (underperforming) air conditioning vents. Amenities are very basic in the cabin and throughout ship and almost all public areas, including the ship's many and absolutely lovely lounges and bars are used for private functions, business events or other purposes and are inaccessible to hotel guests who can only visit (but not actually use) them by paying for a tour. Guests and the (many) visitors are limited to the old 3rd class stern grill and bar (there is also a more expensive restaurant next to it but we were unable to book a table). The open air bar on the aft deck is great if the weather is ok. The connected "Lido" grill is really not very good at all... The cabins, even the premium ones have smallish portholes so there is no "view" as such although, for what its worth, the "landside" view is actually by far the better one as it offers views of the city's futuristic skyline rather than the old warehouses if the "sea" side. The ship is permanently moored in a slightly out-of-the way spot from which one cannot really reach the city centre on foot. It is at the very end of a new residential neighbourhood with nothing really to do or see. The easiest way to reach the centre is to have your own car or rely on taxis, of the land or water variety. Wifi although good is based on a bewildering system, different in public spaces and cabins where it is linked to your TV set, meaning it stops working if you switch off the tv...
This is not really a hotel and should be neither judged nor really marketed as one: it is a set of hotel rooms within a floating museum of the 1960s. If it were a hotel it would be an okeish 3-star in desperate need of renovation. Its not and tvat is as well. We took one of the larger premium cabins on the "sea" side of the ship one deck up from the main deck where the reception is. It was nice, quiet and comfortable with a true retro vibe to it but too many modern elements to make it really feel "60s" as one would have hoped it would. Yet we slept well on a comfortable bed so it wasnt all bad. Staff members were generally very polite and efficient, the adjacent car is park ample and, in our experience, secure and fairly cheap (20€ for 24 hours) and there is a shuttle to the nearest metro station and a dedicated water taxi stop. The bar at the stern is a delight in good weather.
