We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomIt was not warm enough and,though we asked for this to be rectified, our rooms felt only marginally warmer. There were high winds on the first night of our visit and during the following day and this may have been part of the problem. I wonder if the outer door of the building being constantly open didn’t help. It was also exceptionally low daytime temperatures for the time of year but I would have expected there to be adequate heating to counteract these. This is the only reason that I haven’t given full marks in every category for this otherwise wonderful hotel.
We knew this building as the original tourist information office when he had lived in this town in the early 1980s, so we were intrigued to see what it was like as a boutique hotel. We weren’t disappointed.

New ZealandSelf check-in required recovering electronic key cards from a key lock box. The code for the lock box was sent by email at 10.48, We were travelling without data roaming, so did not receive the code. We had to try to access random Wifi in order to find the code. Not all oveeseas travellers have mobile data roaming. A message sent the previous evening would solve this problem.
Enormous room, bed and bathroom. Immaculate presentation. Characterful building overlooking historic harbour. Excellent bike storage. Breakfast looked and smelled good, although we did not take up the option.

United KingdomThe bar/restaurant that is attached to the hotel we very un-helpful and quite rude to me. I had walked into the bar area, which was empty, and asked if I could get a table for one for dinner. eventually, a waiter came over and said, "have you booked?" I said I hadn't as I didn't know, or thought I had to as it wasn't very busy. He said there was no room, and I would have to go elsewhere. I asked him if I could just sit at one of the empty tables or take it to my room as I was staying at this hotel, but he just said no. I appreciate the hotel and restaurant are separate, but they should be more accommodating. Plus they missed out on 80 Euros for 30 mins effort, which I spent elsewhere.
Fantastic location, the room was lovely, I just wish I was staying there long enough to enjoy it more...

Large, modern, clean room. Very quiet with super comfortable beds! Wonderful to have free parking. Breakfast was an option but we did not choose to include with our booking. Nice city. I would book here again.
