Unfortunately, none of the five of us got any sleep. While the location is great in terms of being close to the beach and shops, it turns out it’s also right in the nightlife area of Katwijk. You might think that’s not a big deal, but it really was. The music from nearby venues was loud, and even more disturbing were the drunk people yelling in the street well into the night. Of course, that’s not entirely the hotel’s fault. What made it worse was how warm it was in the room. We had to keep the windows open to get some air, but if there had been air conditioning, we could have kept them closed—and probably would’ve slept much better. That was a real downside, especially since we had planned to see Soldaat van Oranje the next day. A good night’s sleep was what we hoped for.

The room was actually larger than we expected, and everything was clean. We had read several reviews mentioning issues with the showers, but we didn’t experience any problems at all. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was friendly.

Nothing not to like!

The bar was fantastic, the staff were brilliant. Rooms were pretty basic, but they are only to get your head down. Had own toilet, shower and sink, that’s all you need! Five min walk to an amazing beach! Perfect location.

Not much considering value for money.

Cheap but nice hotel close to the beach, having much more affordable prices than hotels in Leiden. Rooms were clean but bit old. Staff was friendly.

Nothing wrong with the place, it was clean but rather basic and I didn't think it was good value for money. Breakfast comprised of a couple of pieces of bread with cheese & ham and a boiled egg for 14.50 Euro.

If you come for a weekend, please take note that this is a bar that stays open until quite late at night, with loud music. The bathroom has a shower, but it is not separate. It's next to the toilet, so if you want to take a shower, everything gets wet...

I was not too fond of the price. The breakfast starts at 9:00 :) It would be good to know that before ordering it. Maybe it is good if you are on vacation. The curtain in the shower could be added, and now water is spread all around, including the toilet. Clothes hangers are not available. The window curtains were torn.

In the bar, the guys serving are substantially not looking at people sitting in. Their focus was the people sitting outside. I was ready to order since few minutes, I started staring at the dudes walking back and forth several times in an attempt to capture their attention, but they were totally attentive only of the people outside. Once I went to the cash and asked if I could order, they were prompt in serving.

Location is nice. I discovered an alternative to Noordwijk. The rooms are hostel like. Essential, but very clean and rather new materials. I did not take advantage of the paid breakfast: it was from 9 to 11, too late for my appointments. The bar has a good selection of beers and the menu is rather tasty

The hotel is at the same time a busy restaurant with a lot of loud nightlife. We did not have an aircon in the room, so with open windows heard the full party long into the night. My bad, I was not aware of this, traveling with friends, I would have liked that. We found gummibears and tissues under the bed, the linen had holes, and the overall room was not very clean. I missed a wardrobe, a lot.

I chose this hotel for two reasons: I could bring a pet and it was walkable to the beach, and we wanted a larger room for the family. All these criteria were perfectly met. We had an own bathroom and an own separate toilet. Lots of electric plugs to recharge.

We, as a group of girls, were missing a big mirror in the room and shower curtain. In the bathroom there was no power supply.

Affordable rooms in the city centre, close to the beach and parking. Nice restaurant and bar below the rooms. Very friendly personnel.

The place has a decrepit look to it. The door didn't fall into its lock properly, and there was no Don't Disturb hanger on the door which almost caused a cleaner to wander into the room. There is a lot of noise outside the window. I was on the third floor, but I feel bad for those on the first floor. The bar tends to be very busy, which makes contacting the staff a little tricky. All in all, I wish I had spent this money on a more standard, respectable hotel.

The bed was clean at least, and the staff were pretty nice, for what it's worth. There's a way to get inside even after hours, which is nice.

The bed was a bit too short. I 'solved' it by pulling the mattress away about 10 cm from the wall and moving the pillow up. But I am not that tall. I am wondering how taller people used to solve this. It was also a pity that the breakfast was only available from 9am on. I think from 7am on would be a more common and practical time.

Small but clean rooms and even smaller bathroom but was perfectly okay for a short stay. It would have been great if there had been an airdryer! Great location, since there's a supermarket nearby and the beach is just a short walk away. Best thing though: the pub downstairs!
