Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaWhen we stayed at the other side of the street was student party and we barely slept. During this period was heat wave in the area and the rooms didn't have air-conditioning. The building don't have elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep, which is hard to climb for elder and kids.
The location is great and the breakfast was very good. Close to the river and city center and very friendly host. If you drive is underground parking close by, which was EUR16 for overnight stay.

ItalyThe property is an old building and it is nothing negative, but you need to be aware that the stairs are very narrow, no elevator and it could be a challenge for some, though the staff offered help with the luggage, if needed. For the same reasons, if the venue is fully booked like when we stayed you may hear a lot of noise from the corridor and other rooms (above) from the wooden floors. It is charming, but may be bothersome. In my personal opinion the price was rather high.
The location of this venue is very convenient to visit Maastricht, it is not in the "crowded side" of the river which was a reason why we chose it, but it is in vicinity of anything you would need while visiting. Plenty of bars and restaurants around and all looked very nice, as well as a relatively short walk to the train or bus station. Though there is no parking for a car, there was a paid parking (18 euro per day) nearby and just 2 min walk. The rooms was very big with a very big bathroom and all amenities and water in the room. The breakfast was good, though we stayed only one night and cannot provide more feedback on it, though we would like to have more vegan options for breakfast.

IrelandNothing really but if pressed I'd say that there needs to be awareness that the 2 double rooms on the last floor share a bathroom which is located in the hallway. Probably not an inconvenient to many but worth knowing. This is not the case with other rooms in the house. That said, the bathroom on the last floor is really nicely decorated and absolutely spotless.
Excellent location, friendly staff, extremely clean rooms and bathrooms.

United KingdomThe two staircases were steep but we were warned about that in the b and b information beforehand.
I liked staying in an older building with character and charm. The room was large and comfortable with everything that one needed. The bathroom was very nice and well decorated. Water pressure was slightly less than I had anticipated but was not a big problem. The breakfasts were excellent - plenty to choose from and the staff were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The b and b was in an excellent location for getting to the centre of Maastricht. Finally, it was very reasonably priced for the location and comfort.

ItalyThe steps in the staircase are really short, really difficult when going downstairs in particular
Clean, tidy, the furniture of the big room we had was very cool: vintage, antique style. Hosts were nice. Very central location. Breakfast was continental only but for us was okay.

NetherlandsAs a BnB there isn't an army of concierge staff so check in times, etc is a little more limited (This isn't a bad thing just a reminder to guests to manage expectations)
Stayed here whilst on business in Maastricht - the owners are so kind and helpful and the room was very comfortable. Definitely want to come back and stay for pleasure instead to enjoy having such a lovely room more.

CanadaMy room door could not stay closed unless you locked the door which was very annoying at times when I wanted it closed but wanted my daughter to be able to come in if she wanted to. Also, we were on the top floor and the internet did not work in our room. We could connect to the wifi but had no internet service up there or it was so spotty it was not useable.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and lovely with comfy beds and everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious.

United KingdomStaircase very steep noisy and old(grade II listed so can’t be changed) but owner helps with suitcases 😊 Would be nice to add a full size mirror somewhere. adding some request on the info printout to the guests to be mindful of the creacing fllors and staircases when moving around at night would be great. Maybe some additional thick rugs each side of the bed and front of the bathroom can muffle the sound!?
It is a really spacious large room. I loved the decor and the traditional furniture. The view was also fantastic. The old wooden beams and floor made it feel really cosy despite the size. I will definitelly return

The room looked so Italian, the whole property did, it felt like we were in a foreign country, so very nice. The location was perfect, everything was just around the corner. Our hostess was so nice, she made us feel so welcome and also gave us the feeling of being in a foreign country, which was very nice especially since I won’t be going abroad this year. We stayed 2 nights, in hindsight too short, so next time longer ☺️
