Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe memory foam pillows are extremely hard and not comfortable. The Studio smelled of smoke to the left of the door to the street, despite the no smoking policy.
Very well situated. Wonderfully different. Good access to the well-equipped kitchen. The suite’s bedroom was amazing. Lovely view out of the very clean windows.

Location is fantastic! The view from our room was the channel, really beautiful, modern but classic style, we enjoyed the garden, Louis the owner is very friendly. The common areas like kitchen and garden made us meet the other guests so this was also really nice.

Israel- Mattress is soft, it sunk towards the heavier person so I slept a bit tilted - No warm water at the sink (didn't try the shower) - Communication was not always fast and clear with the owners before arrival (communication with Gary was easy and clear) - Not recently furnished, had a nice but dusty and old feeling, I was glad I brought slippers
- It was lovely to meet Gary - Lovely atmosphere - Great location, right by the water, shops not too far away, lovely to walk around the neighborhood - Spacious room for a couple of nights

United StatesShower is right near the toilet which makes it inconvenient to use both. Bed is a little weird: it is located long side to the wall so there is nothing behind you when you are laying down and pillows might fall down while you sleep. Room is not suitable for long stays
Room design was nice. Location and staff was great too. Room matched pictures on a website. Overall great value for the money as it is located in a beautiful part of the town with amazing view from the window. Great for short stays

NetherlandsBathroom has no door (there is a cupboard that acts as one but does not cover the entire opening, so you can literally see and smell whatever happens there). There s no shower door or curtain either, all the humidity just drains in the entire room. The bathroom light switch - i've never seem something so weird and cheap. There s a huge old piano which could easily be replaced by a more convenient wardrobe, or just add another wardrobe next to it in the place of the crate shelf!? Kitchen was average clean, common areas just a bit weird overall and with a very cheap feeling.
Nice garden opening and location. Good to have a fridge in the room, there was a proper table and 2 chairs/stools. Clean room.

United KingdomLets move onto the...let's call it quirky parts: you enter into a closed shop..... turn left into a sort of kitchen and find your way into the actual converted house next door where the rooms are... bit odd, but it works. The bathroom in my room was odd... a cupboard converted into a shower and toilet cubicle, with a sink outside... should have been ok, but even after wiping the floor with the squeegee, as best i could, i got wet feet going to the toilet. Also no door on the cupboard, so be aware if sharing as you will have no privacy when showering or using the loo. The sash window was held open with a block of wood... it was one of the 1st cold evenings, so wanted to close it rather than turn the heater on... it nearly took my gingers of.. this is definately a health & safety issue that needs looking in to, as the handles are so low on the frame, there is not enough room. The other way a massive tv.... with nothing on it... i was told this is the only room with a tv, and it has internet..... in my eyes, if you provide a tv, it should atleast have some local channels?? So onto what this seasoned traveller thinks is missing: 1) a mattress protector (bed comfy but only a bottom sheet, no protector & this is a must for me! Dont like the idea of sleeping in other people's juice) 2) a bedside lamp - again a must, waking up in a strange place in the dark and having to get up to turn the mainlight on is no good 3) power issues: an electric socket close to the bed to plug in your phone.. infact...there were not enough safe plugs to use in the room. An extension lead that did not take my plug and 2 wall sockets, both of which had bits broken off did not scream safety to me..in fact, the light and socket by the bathroom were not working when i arrived... after exchanging a few messages this was fixed within 90mins of me highlighting it.
Ok, so lets start with what is right: it is a beautiful location, right on the canal. The rooms are large, the price is good and the bed is comfortable. I was send a message with a door code to let me in, so a self check in.. so far so good...
