How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing, everything was great.
Everything was great and as advertised. I mistakenly used the kitchen but the host was gracious in allowing me to finish cooking my meal. The host was also helpful in giving me instruction on local bus routes from Leon to Granada.

I think they were so welcoming the family. And the room I thought was of a really good standard considering the price. It was well maintained and clearly been recently painted. The bed was comfortable. It was a spacious enough room. And the shower was fine. I had a good pressure on it. Of course for the price you pay you need to recognise that the shower is cold water there’s no warm tap.

The rooms face an inner courtyard so you'll wake up early morning by the annoying phone-usege of other people. Especially Nicas have all the possible sounds on their phones enables, so be prepared for some lovely beeps and tunes around 7am.
location is good, service is friendly and facilities are decent. You can store luggage as well. Overall pretty good value for money.

The staff doesn't speak much English.
We liked that place very much because there you can experience the Nicaraguan spirit entering the old traditional house with a small yard and a porch with two rocking chairs in front of the room. The room was nice and clean. Also, the location was amazing - 2 minutes away from the White Cathedral but on the quiet side of it. The rest of the directions looked very busy and crowded.

The kindness of the host, very friendly and she is a very good help on booking transfer and on any other requirement. The place, is clean and bed are very confortable. The casa is very central, closed to the cathédral (7 mins walk), however the street is quiet.

I liked everything and there was nothing I did not like.
The entire place inside and outside my room were very clean, the place was very secure, staff were always available and very helpful, and the Casa de los Berrios was just four short blocks from the centre of town. They also had plenty of free coffee.

No access to refrigerator / no kitchen facilities. No key to front door provided, so the protocol is to message when returning back after 10pm. I felt bad always needing to wake up the host with a WhatsApp message when returning late from a late night (but she was nice about it)
Only a few blocks away from the main plaza, the guesthouse is fine as affordable accommodation. Room and bathroom were very simple, but since there are many things to do in León, I wasn’t there much. I would stay again as a budget traveler. Nice host.

We were in room 1. Staff/ owners sit outside with mobile phones without earphones . This did impact on stay. I did enquire about tfr to Granada as shown on a leaflet in reception, was told they would get back to me. This did not happen and booked myself. All above woukd bd easy to solve. We loved Leon.

Maria is the best host, a wonderful woman. Comfortable bed, nice garden to hang out in, close to the Parque Principal. Maria arranged for my transport to Granada. Mochas gracias!

Shared kitchen are would have been nice. Property has ac but $15 USD extra/night. Bathroom was rough.
Owner was very kind. Were able to park inside the property at no extra costs.

I arrived late in La Casa de Los Berrios after a very long journey and I was so happy to make it, the owner Marisa was kindly waiting for me. She is wonderful and makes you feel at home, so hospitable and easy going. The place has a great energy and the house itself has character, a colonial hacienda kind of architecture. It is green with all the plants around. My room was clean, cozy and it was just perfect value. Centrally located in a quiet street just 2 min walk from the main square. I loved it there and ended up extending my stay.

All rooms exit into a lovely courtyard that is great place to chill and escape the heat of the city. It’s perfectly located near the cathedral in the center of town, the hosts and staff are all really nice and friendly and helpful. The place feels loved, and we loved our time there.
