How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

More breakfast options would be good. We weren’t asked if we wanted any cooked breakfast- eggs etc on the second night which was a little disappointing. Otherwise the options we had were great.
Great location, the room was spacious and clean. WiFi worked well, the temperature was good and there were options to warm the room with a radiator. The place felt secure with friendly security staff who were around at all times. The hotel was also a great location for pick up to go on an excursion, it was near lovely restaurants and the seafront.

Extraordinary nice courtyard with palms and many other plants and a lot of art decorations many of them follow the theme of Sea Beach and fishing. The bed was super squeeky 😅 otherwise everything was great
We loved our stay. Everyone was very welcoming, we received recommendations for restaurants and staff also helped us book a tour to sandwich harbour. Breakfast was done in very cozy way (i loved the big pot of tea and super tasty bread). Location was very central and it also offered parking.

A lovely little family owned guest house just on the edge of town. It's within walking distance of all shops and sea front. It's ideal for groups or families and they were very helpful. Great breakfast too!

All staff was nice, but it was so rude that the man (I think owner) was talking about the guests and started to have a fight with his wife, because she asked if we wanted to have baked eggs for breakfast and he didn’t want her to ask that, because there were also hard boild half eggs on the table and we allready took one. We also heared him say that someone else allready took 4 parts of those eggs. I guess it’s up to the guests what they take for breakfast, if they take this, they take less from something else. It’s not nice if you talk about guests, in fact, yelling about them. The breakfast wasn’t that great, there was even only one little fresh bread left for me so I had to take a slice of the toastbread which I don’t like. All the other staff was nice, but this man made me feel unwanted.

The place itself is beautiful, really easygoing, staff nice, owner nice, breakfast perfect, rooms really clean and nice bed. Would stay again. Also did laundry, was perfectly clean and fresh.

Actually there is onthing to complain about. The furniture and the style of the room was a bit old but hey, it's a guest house (a really good one) and not a 5 star hotel. We would come again.
Inga is an excellent host in her conveniently located guesthouse in Swakopmund, ready to help along the way and to organize guides for trips etc. Walking (it is safe!) distance to all inner city attractions. Spacious clean room, very good breakfast, friendly staff.

Very nice and centrally located Guesthouse. There are many tourist attractions in walking distance. (Eg. Jetty, old-town, lots of restaurants, light house) You can also book activities directly from there. (We did the dunes tour to Sandwich Harbor) The cool thing was that we got picked up directly at the hotel and didn’t have to use the car. Laundry service was also very handy. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff was very friendly. The facility feels safe with a night guard and a guarded parking lot.

The room and.garden were lovely, people at reception were very nice and helpful (they booked restaurants for us), good breakfast. Very quiet, guarded parking. We had a very pleasant stay.

Bathroom is a little outdated and cold, but this didn’t bother us too much.
The guesthouse feels very homey, with a nice sitting area. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Breakfast is very good. We appreciated the help from the host for organising the tour to walvis bay and for helling us switching our plans around due to the weather!
