    All was perfect

As a solo traveler, finding a place that feels safe, comfortable, and welcoming is so important and this stay exceeded all my expectations. The hosts truly went out of their way to make me feel at home. From the moment I arrived, their kindness and attention to detail made a big impression. They were incredibly thoughtful and responsive, always checking in to make sure I had everything I needed without ever being intrusive. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests and want everyone to have a great experience. The space was spotless, cozy, and had everything I needed. Their local tips were spot on and really helped me make the most of my time here. Traveling alone can sometimes feel a bit isolating, but thanks to the hosts, I felt completely at ease and well taken care of. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay.

I gues in winter you have to book the room with gas geyser because the heat of the water depends on the solar.

We received a warm welcome from our hosts. Real salt of the earth people. The accomodation is just divine and the flapjacks on arrival was such a wonderful surprise that lasted up to breakfast. Very tranquil and safe with solar geaser. Excellent stopover between Swakop and your next stop. Very affordable. Easy to locate.

I liked everything and cannot find fault at all. It is a bit out of town , but that is why we chose it in the first place. Easy enough to quickly drive to Swakop should you need something or want some action.

Everything was exactly as described the photos were accurate , the room was perhaps even more beautiful than expected. Best of all was the very friendly ,kind and lovely hostess. She could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Her husband was also full of help and information about our tour.

    Nothing

We had an amazing night stay here! The hosts were so kind and accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay an experience far beyond just accommodation. They drove us out into the stunning moon valley at sunset and we enjoyed chatting round a fire pit and getting to know each other. The little touches such as pancakes and drinks we were given on arrival were very kind. There was fresh milk, coffee and even some chocolate on arrival! The view was incredible and we would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying near Swakopmund. We will definitely return in the future!

Nothing. The addition of a floor fan would be very nice for the hot afternoons. Temps cool down fast in the evenings, though. Highly recommended! This is truly a gem of comfort in an otherwise extraordinarily inhospitable territory.

Hindie and Mari are the most extraordinary hosts. Always willing to chat and provide info on the area. Knock on their door at anytime if you need info or anything else. They genuinely enjoy engaging with their guests. The accommodation is of the best that have found in Namibia or South Africa - at a very reasonable price-point. Absolutely superb. Excellent WiFi and Netflix.

What we loved from the beginning was the immense hospitality that was provided from the reception of our stay. The hosts are such a lovely, articulate, and respectable couple. They told us stories about the area, and we had a very quaint and relaxed stay at Moon Landscape Self Catering. An evening with remarkable views of Orion's Belt as we stargazed from the porch and an amazing misty morning wake-up overlooking the Moon Landscape and Swakop River area. It was purely divine and remarkable to stay here. Highly recommended!!

There is nothing we would not like. It was a bit complicated to find the place at first, but Suzanne sent us very detailed instructions in advance and offered help if needed, so it was not really a problem.

We stayed two nights at the Moon Landscape and we could not have chosen a better place to start our Namibian journey! Located just behind Swakopmund, close enough to be able to explore the whole location, yet the place was secure, with beautiful landscape and it was so calm and quiet there! The interior is lovely designed and very comfortable, the quality exceeded our expectations. There is everything you could possibly need - from equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom to outdoor sitting and fireplace, I was almost sad we didn't stay longer and used more of it, but we had a busy schedule. The owners are such nice people, they welcomed us warmly and made sure we found the place and had everything we needed and gave us some good advice on our journey. Suzanne was so attentive in making sure everything is okay and that made us feel really welcome. Thank you again, we will definitely stop by again next time in Namibia!

    Short duration of stay

My wife and I booked 3 nights at Moon Landscape outside Swakopmund. As the rate was very reasonable and suited our budget, we didn’t expect much. The host Suzanne invited us for an early check-in. (Not common practice at most other places) Heartly welcomed by Suzanne, offered a nice ice-cold welcome drink, and briefed us on what was available. The view from our unit and from the common guest area was very peaceful and eerie in a sense. Late afternoon Suzanne invited us and the two other guests for a tour into the Moon Landscape valley and hills. What an unsuspected experience this was, the landscape was breathtaking, and it was clear why it is called Moon Landscape. (Scenes of the movie, Mad Max, an apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape, were shot in the area.) On our return we were invited to braai at the common area with the hosts and the other two guests. Hindi, Suzanne’s husband spoiled us with his interesting stories and time went too quick. The unit was very clean and stocked with everything needed for a pleasant stay, even a gas barbeque inside the unit, the springbuck kebabs barbequed excellent on the gas braai. Fresh milk in the fridge, 5 litres of drinking water and full suite of Netflix including internet connectivity and good Wi-Fi include in the very reasonable rate. Next day Suzanne spoiled us with a freshly homemade mealie bread and sweet peaches. In closing, arrived as strangers and left as friends. Thanks once again for the tour and your hospitality.
