Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThey advertise kayaking, but there’s actually only one kayak and it’s not in great condition. Apart from that the facilities and the buildings are quite run down but like everything around Langkawi it is just the way it is.
The location was fantastic on a secluded beach with no roads in or out. Koi and the team were excellent hosts - food is fantastic and they are very helpful when needed. The accommodation is right on the beach with excellent views. It’s very rustic but suits the price. We stayed an extra night as it was so relaxing. Walking through the jungle to the road and getting scooters to explore the island was a highlight.

United KingdomIt can get very windy so in the hut it can be very loud but tbh that didn't bother us that much. Also there is a fair bit of rubbish on the beach but not so much to detract from the beauty of the place. The place is hard to get to. We got a boat to the main jetty. Then paid a local 60rm to take us on a boat to the beach. You can also take a 20rm buggy to Tanjung Pandan and then walk through the jungle. The entrance to the walk is not obvious so just keep walking and you'll eventually see it.
If you want to escape and relax this is a fantastic place to do so. We spent 3 nights there and to reiterate most of these reviews Koi is a fantastic cook. You can also walk (hike) for 10mins through the jungle to explore the rest of the island which we did and rented a scooter. But to be honest Pasir Panjang is the best spot.

Location. Right on the beach. Completely secluded and very few other tourists due to limited number of cabins. Food was fantastic and the serve yourself - pay cash when you leave was super. No messing with money during the stay.

United KingdomShould be cheaper... we paid £250 for 4 nights for a basic bungalow. Address the upkeep issues, include breakfast and drinking water in the room, and it will be more reasonable. Some basic upkeep that must be addressed: our bungalow had 2 single beds with nice mattresses and 1 double bed which we used but it had the worst mattress I've ever seen - it basically sunk under any weight right to the bed frame and did not come up so you end up sleeping in a hole... mattress should be changed ASAP. Door curtain needed in the room - there is privacy film but it only works during the day so during the night anyone can see into the bedroom through a large double glass door - as there were no other guests it didn't feel that bad but if it was full, I would not feel comfortable. Beach needs cleaning 2-3 times a day (with rake and sieve not just picking largest bits) we ended up picking some of the plastic on our way up and down the besch as we couldn't look at it :/ Some mornings it's nice and clean but others, winds bring up a lot of rubbish. General maintenance of the property needed - lost of unfinished construction bits around. You can get a nice cheap shared boat from Kuah every 2hrs, right to the property for RM10 per person but going back to Kuah you need to get a charter boat (RM 90 per boat).
We were the only guests so we had the whole beach to ourselves! Lovely keeper Ms Koi, she is a great cook too. Kayaks available to rent for RM10 per person. also a nice additional restaurant 10min walk through the jungle (steep and narrow trail) or 8min by kayak. Facilities are basic which we don't mind. Koi's cooking is great! although the prices are higher comparing to other places. Koi cares for animals, cats and dogs which were all lovely but one of the dogs needs its space and might bark - it wasn't a problem at all for us as none were aggressive and we love animals

The chef and housekeeper Koy was amazing and cooked great Thai food. Facilities are basic, but the island is beautiful and great place to relax. Beach was very still and saw dolphins which is kayaking out too. We were meant to stay 2 nights, but stayed 3. Very easy to get boat to island.

PolandGreat place to stay. Great island. I choose the simple room at firs but during january it was very windy (it only has nets in windows), but there was no problem in upgrading for more pricey chatelet which was excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I only had 3 days there and I would definately stayed for 2 weeks.

United KingdomREVIEWS MATTER. We chose not to stay at this accomodation, after reading recent reviews we didn't want to risk staying somewhere that would ruin/waste our time. We were unable to cancel so paid in full. Instead we booked a neighbouring resort village and walked to wild pasir to check it out ourselves. We are more than happy to stay in basic accomodation however this place is really neglected. It is on a beach that could easily be maintained but isn't. There is rumble and building debris all around, the beach huts don't look in good shape and there are many abandoned buildings. The outside chairs/tables are plastic and falling apart. It's a real shame because it could be something amazing especially if they kept it basic and simple but the fact is it isn't, it's tired and dirty and the price isn't cheap! for what we paid at a neighboring property we had total luxury and a clean beach. I hope the property owners don't ignore reviews and make changes soon!

United KingdomWe really did not have a comfortable or enjoyable stay, and we had to leave early because of it. They have advertised a bed in the accommodation, and there isn't a bed, it's a mattress on the floor. The bathroom has no ventilation and is directly onto the mattress so our room was damp and smelly. The food is overpriced, and the island itself has not much on it. The beach looks out onto the city of Kuah, and the party boats come every day for at least x2 hours interupting any peace that you might get to enjoy your time there. We contacted the owner on the first night we arrived to speak with him about our issues with the place, he said he would call us back and he didn't. We have requested a refund for our stay via booking.com and he has refused this, and so we are taking it up with our credit card company to be refunded. A terrible experience and we recommend spending your money elsewhere for a more enjoyable experience.
The main thing / only thing that was nice about our stay was the lovely housekeeper who lives at the resort. She was very helpful.

ItalyDon't expect crystal clear water, this coast side of Malaysia has muddy soils, as it is home to mangrove forests (which will be fun to explore with the kayaks!). You can of course still swim. During the weekend, find yourself an activity to do from 5pm to 6pm (e.g. a Jungle exploration, or kayak tour), as party boats come spend one hour in front of the beach with very loud music.
Wild Pasir Panjang is situated on a beautiful beach surrounded by the jungle. You can easily spot hornbills, monkeys, eagles. Food is excellent, cooked by the super skilled and extremely welcoming Koi. If you are lucky you will hear some of the great life adventures of the owner. The place is very cosy, and makes you feel at home immediately. We spent 5 fantastic days here, which were definitely the highlight of our 2 weeks in Malaysia. Definitely recommended for those who are looking for a peaceful place, far from the crowds.

United KingdomThe curtains were the only option during a noisy storm at night. Shutters would be better. Maybe a bed and not just mattresses on the floor.
We were the only residents in an idyllic location. One of our party was vegetarian and Koy the cook catered for all our needs. The results were delicious. The honesty tally on the drinks fridge worked perfectly. Great value for money. We saw sea otters, monkeys, ducks, leaping fish, bioluminescence in the evenings and relaxed in the variety of seating options. Mosquito nets available. Easy to get to.

Lithuaniathe owner said, that it is possible to come with shared boat, but actually you can use only expensive private boat. And it’s basically the only way of going anywhere. There is a path through the jungle, which leads to other beach where you can get food for half of the price they charge you here. but they won’t tell you about it when asked if there are any ways of going around except of the boat. Broken flashing light, mold everywhere, no hot water doesn’t do good either. Trash on the beach, construction tools and cement buckets laying everywhere kind of sucks.
the territory is totally isolated and wild, so it is nice to feel real jungle vibe. nice kitchen area with board games and drinks.

CanadaNothing - we loved every minute of our stay!
My recent stay at this tucked-away haven was a delightful escape. The private beach and stunning sunrises set the tone for a serene experience. The accommodation, while basic, was comfortable and spacious, with a blacony overlooking the ocean – some with A/C for those warmer days. Swimming in the secluded private beach and enjoying the delicious food made for a perfect, laid-back retreat. The staff was incredibly friendly and added a personal touch to the experience. Will for sure go back to visit them! Not a place for those seeking four-star luxury, but if you crave a simple, beautiful spot away from the crowds, accessible by a short boat ride from Marble Beach pier, this is it. I even got to witness some monkeys, adding an unexpected touch to my stay. Highly recommended for a tranquil, no-nonsense getaway.
