A little paradise on the beach

There were gaps on both sides of the sliding door wall so sound travels through - especially from the “party goers” at the beach bar underneath which is open until midnight. Also if you get neighbours that like to talk on the balcony, it is annoying. Though loud laughing ladies only happened on one night out of four. There were strangely only 1 glass, bowl and plate, 1 fork and 1 spoon but 2 wine glasses Hot water tricky to get right

Definitely book the ocean view room if possible. Sound of the waves very therapeutic. Everyone is very nice and relaxed on Juara and everyone soon knows everyone’s names. There’s decent vegan options (unlike ABC side where it is rare for people to know what vegan is) Also right next to Juara Scuba Academy and beach access to diving. Lots of nice restaurants around 2 mini markets within 3 mins walk

I think, that due to the proximity of open water sources there were a lot of mosquitos in our room. We had not been prepared to this. Please, take with you all required antimosquito tools for comfortable accomodation there. From my point of view the cleanliness of the room was not perfect. It can be improved in the future. In general it was not a big issue during our stay.

Great location if you’re looking to relax outside of hustle and bustle of big cities – a wonderful beach and sea without crowds there. You can find several diving centers near the hotel. Moreover you can find a great place for snorkeling near the hotel. Staff of the hotel was always helpful and friendly. The vibe there is very relax. We hadn't any problem during our stay there. Our room had all amenities that required for comfortable accomodation. A/C worked well, there were kettle, different utensils and fridge.

The AC did not work during the day between the hours of 12:00PM or so until sun down, not sure if it is a setting or the AC just couldn't cope during the day. Also, the bathroom was too dark, the light struggled to stay on and was often dim and flickered.

The view from your room balcony is truly unmatched, there really isn't anything like this on the island. The room was clean and generally comfortable, appreciated that it came with a fridge, toaster and water boiler, which allowed you to prepare simple meals should you feel the need to do so. The biggest selling point is the sea right in front of the property. If the weather is good and you are comfortable with swimming in the sea, the marine life just to the left outer side of the beach is teeming with life!! Everything looks fairly healthy and so vibrant, it's the kind of visuals you will NEVER forget.

1. Restaurant offer very limited choice of food. 2. The little stall by the side, price of drinks are a bit overpriced.

Nice room with good air-condition, comfy bed, well-maintained washroom. Just few foodstep to the beach. Staff very helpful and kind and very good arrangement of transportation whenever we requested. The whole place including Beach very clean and less touristy.

Wifi is a bit undependable.

We loved our stay here. Beautiful view, comfortable room, lovely quiet beach, restaurants nearby, fantastic snorkeltour to coral island. Small beachbar with great mocktails to sip in your hammock. We had to take an early boat and they made us a take away breakfast with fresh juice and sandwiches.

There was leaking from the ceiling when we check-in and wet the bed and floor. Due to rooms are all fully occupied, we need to embrace it, but I would give kudos to Mr. Fazli trying to solve the leaking problem, and also try to find all possible options solve the problem including trying to find us rooms at other place. Finally leaking was fixed on our 2nd day. Overall, we had a great holiday ! Food was nice, the beach was amazing, lots of fun activities for kids and whole family. This is our 2nd time at Pondok Beach Shack, and we will be coming again next time 😊

The restaurant working hours are not very good. There are not so many options for breakfast, even tough its good. Like almost every place on the island, they dont serve alcohol. They dont have beach towels. Do not expect you room to be cleaned daily. However, im sure that if you ask they will do anything.

The room is small. We got a partial sea view room, the balcony was OK with view to the mountain also but it was not possible to enjoy it so much given to constant bad smells coming from different sources. The entrance to the hotel is not nice there is a bridge over a string of water but the water is very dirty and with bad smell. Despite to be on the beach there were not sunbeds. Beach towels are not provided, only one towel per person and they did not change them. No related with the hotel itself but book your tours in advance, one day it was not possible to do anything because there were not enough people to organize the tour, my recommendation go to the resort at the end of the beach and ask there for tours since there is more people on that place. I also recommend to go to the resort at night for the beach bar.

Difficult to rate this hotel. For the standards of this side of the island it seems it was good place but still very basic. Maybe the best feature was the bathroom, spacious and good water pressure. The breakfast space was also good by sea side. The sunrise was great and in general the beach is beautiful.

so many cat poops and smell very bad right in front of the pondok. Got no fan and only depends on the air condition to cool the room.

I love the village environment. The location is strategic. Breakfast is also provided although certain food in the menu need to pay extra. Pondok Shack's bathroom exceeded my expectations and it is splendid! And the sea view from my bedroom is magnificent!!

It's a wonderful peaceful little place right on the beach with an outstanding sunrise and a cozy not at all packed beach. Right next to it is a great restaurant and a shack where you can also get amazing fresh food! I've celebrated my birthday there and all the staff was so friendly and helpful.
