lovely heritage building, good location

heritage also means the mozzies can get in around the shutters, but this was minor.

Spacious rooms, good location and excellent staff and service.

The location is great. The room is big and the bed is comfortable. Staff are very helpful.

The common hall was very noisy on the first night when guests came back late at night. Most are Chinese travelers from the mainland. Wish they knew the hotel quiet rule at night time. Luckily, the room got changed on the other side, which was quieter for the other 2 nights.

Has cleanliness and maintenance issues which were brought to the attention of the management.

Beautiful, rustic property that’s tastefully decorated without compromising comfort and utility. We had a room that was separate from the others, which gave us privacy. Very big room with a separate shower room and toilet (a rarity!). Complimentary tea/coffee in the room; air-con and fan along with a comfortable sofa. Two single beds and both of them were huge (haven’t seen such beds even in 5-star hotels!). Very helpful and courteous staff who helped us carry our luggage to the first-floor room. The in-house restaurant served delicious and hearty breakfast (complimentary) and offered affordable lunch and dinner options (big portion sizes). Excellent water flow and pressure in the shower/bathroom. The floor in the shower drained water quickly, removing the risk of falls (loved their flooring which made it possible). Hotel is quite close to the ferry station with easy access through Grab (local Uber). Beautiful and quiet neighborhood with good eateries and old-style buildings in the nearby areas. Loved walking around George Town, especially in the neighborhood. We also got a late checkout option!

Not a major issue but would've appreciated a little bit heavier comforter :)

My room was truly beautiful. It consisted of a sitting room with antique furniture and a sleeping room next to it, with a wooden panel separating the space. The sitting room was very spacious with a small fridge and kettle to make coffee (it would be good if they also provided tea). Downstairs the entire ground floor of the building is full of lovely antique furniture and sitting areas for the guests to enjoy. The hotel is located on a road that did not have a lot of car traffic compared to some other streets in Georgetown. The cafe/restaurant attached the hotel serves tasty meals. The hotel staff were very friendly. There are plenty of restaurants and food within minutes of the hotel, but that would be the case for any hotel in Georgetown. The Red Garden Food Paradise, an undercover area with lots of food stalls, is about a 5 minute walk away. Shout out to the Florist cafe next door that has a dark sesame latte! It was delicious. There are a few issues to highlight, that come with the age of the building. There is an air con in the sitting room. Because the ceiling in the sitting room is so high,you need the fans in both rooms on high to keep the room cool. The fan in the bedroom was not a ceiling fan, but attached to a wall, and as such there was the constant whir of the fans. I don’t mind the sound of fans, so it was ok for me. The two windows in the room have stain glass panels above them which let in light early in the morning. So bring an eye mask if you need a dark room, like myself, to sleep. The door to the bathroom is like swinging a French style wooden door and when it swings back to close it made an annoyingly loud clang. I can see that they have tried to put some rubber around the edges to absorb some of the impact but it is not working. And lastly the hot water was tepid at best.

No dislikes, just some things to be weary of as mentioned above.

The vibe is amazing and Aru and Linda so helpfull.Also the food was fanrastic.Could not fault it.

The location was excellent. The staff were all really warm and friendly and gave us excellent advice on where to go and the restaurants they recommended were all great too. The room was cozy and beautifully decorated. It was a great choice for us. We were very pleased and would recommend it.

My only small annoyance was I would have liked a bigger surface in the bathroom for my toothbrush and cosmetics. Other than that no complaints.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food at the restaurant and location is great for getting around Georgetown

The bed was too firm for me and we had noisy neighbours in one of the other rooms who talked loudly until early hours of the morning.

Room was beautiful- the renovations were totally in sync with the original functions of the property, yet made it stunning

Love this hotel, very special with heritage feel and look. The loft suite is excellent and very comfortable and special.

Free Parking is not always available. There are paid car parks within walking distance.

Location was amazing, beautiful building, comfortable room.
