It was charming to stay in a historic building. It was exceptionally clean, the beds were very comfortable and the decor and ambience was welcoming and elegant.

No window in the room. There were shutters to the open area courtyard, but not easily opened. Not soundproof, not super private, but still a wonderful stay.

Friendly service, good accommodation with coffee, tea, and water available in the common area at all times. Absolutely LOVED the decor, so much character, very well done, authentic and upkept.❤ very comfortable bed and room, loved the style. Would definitely stay here again.

No issues - one thing to take into account for people is that rooms are not noise proof so if you have rowdy neighbours as there was on Sat you may need ear plugs.

We had a large, lovely room, beautifully kept and clean, having plumbed for one of the deluxe rooms. Friends with children chose the family rooms, which were not quite as glamorous but were perfectly OK. The hotel has a sweet little courtyard, is reasonably close to lots of excellent restaurants and the staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. I’d highly recommend the Ke-lan-tan if you’re looking for a shophouse-style hotel in George Town at a very reasonable price.

Amazing location! We were lucky enough to visit during Ramadan so there were lots of Bazaars nearby. The room was comfortable and clean and very easy to walk everywhere! It was also really quiet and felt very secure!

When I was checking in after a long day, the process was not as friendly as it could have been. I thought about leaving but then I met the day staff and the were superb. The bathrooms are detached, a short walk out of your room. It has to do with the building being an historic landmark. After awhile it didn’t bother me at all, everything was so clean.

I loved the quiet ambiance and traditional design. The day staff was wonderful, really helpful and kind. Because of the lack of natural light in my bedroom, I slept incredibly well!

Although Ke-lan-tan House is situated in a very quiet area, it is also very central and within a short distance from shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. It is a beautifully decorated and welcoming place with an internal courtyard and lots of plants as well as a fresh water pond. The staff were really helpful and always ready to let you know about special events and places/areas of particular interest. There was also lots of information provided in a home made booklet in our room. It made our stay very pleasant indeed.

I found the bedroom a little dark. The key to access the private washroom was hard to remember. Perhaps having a color ring to tell the difference between room key and bathroom key is helpful.

Love the design of the entire . Open garden courtyard is lovely. Nice touches with some snacks and complimentary water,tea and coffee. Front entrance super clean and inviting. All staff provided exceptional services especially Joey. Excellent location to many restaurants.
