The most beautiful historical hotel in Georgetown. The artwork and architecture is unbelievable. Our room was huge and service was impeccable.

There was construction during our stay and the sound from the outside traffic was quite noticable. Walls were relatively thin, could hear a phone alarm from one of the adjacent rooms.

We had a beautiful spacious suite which overlooked the swimming pool and the sea. Overall the hotel is very impressive and it feels like the staff go out of their way to make it a memorable and comfortable experience for you. There are several options where to have your breakfast, the buffet one is so vast in choice, it’s truly remarkable - I even had to take a few photos haha! The swimming pool is so lovely to swim in and just everything about our stay felt special.

We thought the room may feel more welcoming with it being a heritage site with fruits and some chocolates in the room.

The location of the hotel is great and the facilities are very well maintained. The history attached to the hotel is engaging. The breakfast spread is very well crafted with many options.

We were unable to buy a bottle of Champagne to celebrate a birthday on the day we arrived. The only sparkling wine available was an extremely over-priced Prosecco.

The range and quality of the breakfast was magnificent. We loved the size and decor of the room and enjoyed the fabulous infinity pool. Fantastic, very accommodating staff.

These I did not like. The corner suite was great but it needs proper maintenance. Safety issue in bathroom with full height glass not having a distinguishable band to stop people walking into it. Cupboard doors and other closures need maintenance to make it easier to open/shut these doors/partitions.

The aircon was working a little too strong in the restaurant on the 6th floor, so a sweater is always required to carry along.

The hotel is a beauty on the island of Penang. The location is perfect, a few steps away from the cozy city center of George Town. The restaurant offered amazing breakfast and also dinner options. The room received faced beach view, how amazing that was. The pool on the 6th floor is very beautiful and peacefull !

Only one sitting chair in the room We booked well in advance for a twin room (2 beds). On check in we were informed that there were no twin rooms available and they had put another bed in a king room. This other bed was a rollaway that was not an appropriate substitute for a full bed. Entrance to Victory building is not very accessible, and we used the delivery driveway because it was more convenient. Not a lot of casual seating around the hotel

I jus found the pillows a little firm and thick for me, but they weren't terrible.

Wonderful hotel. Old world charm with great facilities. Loved everything about it. The room photos were accurate. The staff were wonderful, always happy to help and with a smile. Enjoyed the food. Close to town. Wonderful view. Nil complaints.

Not much, but one frustration was that the pool and sun lounger area was entirely in the shade from early afternoon onwards. There is another pool with better exposure at the heritage part of the hotel but guests in the victory annex cannot use this - so there was a slight air of being a second class citizen (albeit still very luxurious!)

The breakfast was amazing - so much choice across all possible cuisines. Truly never seen anything like it Studio in Victory Annex was very large - great as three of us sharing Fitness suite good standard with sea views Great seafront location and easy 10-15 min walk to heart of Georgetown, food scene and sites. More touristy restaurants within 2-3 mins too

The fire alarm went off four times around 5 a.m. on August 23 for no apparent reason, disrupting our sleep and leaving us feeling tired throughout the day.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. Great location for exploring Georgetown: in easy walking distance to many sights and restaurants in Georgetown. We did everything by foot. The view to the water was amazing and the promenade in front of the hotel was very well taken care of and welcoming. Possibly the best hotel breakfast I've ever tried (and there have been many good ones). We only tried the buffet. It was amazing! We stayed in the new part of the hotel and everything was modern, clean and luxurious. There was a daily turn down service, including the staff restocking the drinking water. Photogenic pool with a fantastic view. We ordered some cocktails while the kids were swimming. :) The spa looked great too, although we ran out of time. I would highly recommend staying here, as a base for exploring Georgetown!

We stayed in a delightful Victory Annex Suite with balcony overlooking the ocean. We loved everything about the Eastern & Oriental, it’s definitely one hotel worth staying at. Its location is within a short walk to all that the incredible Georgetown has to offer.

We had a truly wonderful stay at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel. The room was very comfortable, the service was excellent, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was especially enjoyable – there were different delicious options to choose from, and everything was well prepared. We felt very relaxed and well taken care of throughout our stay. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and will always remember the beautiful experience we had here.
