Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe speed of service of the Afternoon Tea and the Bar service in the evening was very slow.. even though there weren’t many tables of guests to service…You have a Piano there with an automated programmable Piano.. you should use it in the evenings so that guests having a Night Cap have some soothing piano music to add to the ambiance and might buy more drinks… The loud humming noise all night from the room ventilation system (Room 41) was dreadful.. kept me awake until I switched off the Master Switch in the room, but that kills all power..
Lovely property with a modern, fresh look and feel reflecting the era that depicts the Cameron Highlands. The food & Beverage offering was of a high quality and well priced and the Breakfast was one of the best I have experienced in a long long time. It is an A La Carte style breakfast served in a lovely fine dining setting by well dressed exceptional staff! So much better than the usual “Feeding Frenzy” that hotels offer these days with a buffet. It was a super surreal experience and the items on offer were of excellent quality and taste! The rooms were excellent and clean and the bathrooms were sensible with a nice large shower instead of the usual “Shower in bathtub and shower curtains” offered by other hotels in this area. Beds were super comfortable. Overall, one of the best hotel stays in Malaysia with excellent friendly staff! We stayed at the Smokehouse Hotel on our last visit and that is no comparison to the Cameron Highlands Resort!

United Arab EmiratesThe property is a bit dated and definitely needs to be modernized and isolated from the traffic of the main road on which it is located. It lacks a garden and surrounding space for walking, and perhaps a bar to enjoy the fresh air.
The staff are truly kind and hospitable, making you feel at home. I tried all the excursions available and they were fantastic, especially the Jim Thompson trail, which is not to be missed. The guide was exceptional. I also loved the private dinner, especially the lamb. Excellent breakfast, excellent dining restaurant. I tried also the spa and you can’t miss the tea bath .

ItalyThe rooms face the street side, due to the windows are not to EU standards, the noise of the cars is pretty noticeable. Hence it did not disturb my nightrest.
The venue is very pretty, gives you a luxury feeling. The colonial design is really beautiful. The breakfast was really good organized and I liked the way where you can order your plats, rather than a full buffet breakfast. The room was spacious and clean.

MalaysiaPillows are old and lumpy.
Road has got very noisy over the years and hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs. Nice thought. Still peaceful at night. FOH reception very friendly and helpful. We were travelling on big motorbikes this time, and the restaurant staff throughout attentive but treated us noticeably differently, 2nd class disdain. Breakfast was excellent, limited choice but excellent quality. Steamboat dinner is great value.

BelgiumEverything was nice from the beginning to the end. Only remark we have is that some outdoor spaces can use some renovation.
From the moment you arrive, the staff greets you very friendly. They open the doors for you, take care of your luggage and you get a drink on arrival. The staff was through the whole stay alway very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was very good and is something you should try. We’ve tried both of the restaurants and they were both good. For breakfast, there is a small buffet and you can choose more than 10 different dishes, both local and western. They help you with booking a tour and help you choose the best options. We booked the private landrover tour to the tea gardens, mossy forest and strawberry farms and we would recommend to book this upon arrival.

United Arab EmiratesNothing!
Our one-night stay at Cameron Highlands Resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped in, we were transported to a different era — the entire property exudes an old-English charm, like something out of the early 90s. Warm, cozy, and full of character, the ambience was absolutely pitch-perfect for a mountain retreat. The staff were incredibly courteous and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. A simple but thoughtful gesture really stood out — we had brought strawberries from a nearby farm, and they kindly washed and beautifully presented them for us without us even asking. That’s the kind of personalized service that makes a stay truly memorable. The common areas of the resort are equally impressive — from a charming grand hall with a fireplace to large koi ponds filled with majestic fish. It all adds to the resort’s serene and sophisticated atmosphere. Breakfast was served à la carte and every bite was divine. You could tell great care went into the flavors and presentation — it felt more like a fine-dining experience than a typical hotel breakfast. If there’s one thing I regret, it’s that we couldn’t stay longer. I genuinely wish I had at least one more night to soak it all in, but we had a flight to catch. Still, this brief escape will stay with us for a long time. Highly, highly recommended — whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat into the hills, Cameron Highlands Resort delivers an experience that is both nostalgic and luxurious.

ThailandThe resort is away from the city center - though everything is accessible by grab (PS: not many grab cars, so better to order in advance). As a guest, you will have the tendency to just stay in 😅 There’s a cozy atmosphere to the hotel, but since the doors are often left open to let the cool breeze in, most guests tend to stay in their rooms rather than gather in the common areas.
A charming luxury retreat tucked away in the Cameron Highlands. If you’re looking to escape the busy cities, this resort is a fantastic choice. The service is top-notch, and the staff were genuinely amazing throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the complimentary tour led by Madi, a passionate local guide from the Cameron Highlands. His love for the area truly shines through, and he’s incredibly knowledgeable—definitely the go-to person for guided tours or any questions about the region. The resort itself is cozy and elegant, though it can get quite chilly at night, so come prepared! Pro tip: Don’t miss out on their afternoon tea set—I found out about it a bit too late, but it looked absolutely delightful. A truly lovely and relaxing stay overall.
