Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoise levels were a bit hit or miss. Our room faced the street, and at times we were woken up by cleaners or maintenance vehicles working on draining water from somewhere inside the hostel, which is pretty common in the season.
The staff really made this stay great! Special shout out to Keren, who was such a vibe and made the tours super fun, and to Miguel as well. The hostel itself had a great atmosphere with plenty of social activities during the week, with a number of spaces to chill. Food and drinks were decent too. More a social hostel than the party kind. The location is ideal for exploring Centro—right in the middle of what feels like the “real Mexico,” surrounded by locals, which makes the experience super immersive. I stayed in a private double, which was basic but what you’d expect from a hostel: clean, comfortable bed, hot shower with good pressure and enough space for two people to feel comfortable.

The courtyard is a great place to hang out outside without having to go far from your room. Having a kitchen and bar at the hostel where you buy your meals is really nice when it's raining and you don't want to go far.

United StatesThe internet is a challenge in some of the areas of the facility and the big issue is the fact that the phone network is a challenge around the same locations forcing to need to go out of the room to get proper WiFi or phone network access for the majority of the providers (only one is fine there). From my experience in another hostel the curtains for bed should ensure the blackout to avoid being disturbed early when the sun is out
This is a great hostel with a nice social vibe! The room was clean including the bathroom and the bed comfortable. The are enough space to chill out and relax in the facility. The staff is friendly too. It is almost quiet after a certain hour during the night.

CanadaThe gold shower but this isn’t a problem with the hostel. Apparantly it happens frequently in the city.
Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. One even walked me down to catch my taxi at the end of the street as it is blocked off. They are very prompt in providing you with information. I choose to stay in a private room with an ensuite which was very large and spotless. Breakfast was good. They offer free juice and coffee during the day. They also book activities/ tours. Location is great, a 10 minute walk to the cathedral.

United StatesThe Wifi is very iffy more often than not. You'll have to reconnect to it every 5-10 minutes or so, and sometimes the wifi isn't all that fast, but for the most part it was serviceable. While the showers were hot and clean, they would frequently alternate between warm to scorching hot without you touching the handle so you have to turn the shower off and then turn it back on to reset to your preferred temperature. The location is also a double edged sword, it's right next to Zocalo which already has TONS of fun stuff to do and lots of shops, markets, and food options. However if you want to do any normal touristy things or go to clubs in Roma or Condesa your best bet is a 20+ minute Uber or the metro, unless you are okay with longer walks. Finally, while very minute and arguably insignificant in the overall experience, if you get a top bunk do expect to have the first step of the ladder being higher than you'd expect off the floor.
Overall it is clean and well organized. The food options and bar inside were good for the price and convenience. The staff were very fun and welcoming with a lot really trying to be apart of the groups, there were also tons of organized activities hosted by the staff which were really fun, like the Lucha Libre. It’s easy to meet people and form groups to do activities with. The beds were also more comfortable than I originally expected. The facilities are all clean and very well maintained, beds clean, no reports or sight of bed bugs during my visit. There are also some cool in building areas like a ping pong table, a meditation room, and an area to play table games. Honestly the main highlights were the staff and the people. Everyone was just so wonderful, the staff really felt like they wanted to be a part of the fun with the groups which made for a more welcoming environment. Instead of just workers they also felt like one of the other travelers there. This hostel is also very good if you want a more party oriented environment as every night some kind of group was going clubbing or to the bars, and even the bar inside the hostel was also pretty active daily, and the bartenders were all extremely nice. It's a explore during the day, party hard at night kind of vibe. All things considered, this is a wonderful place to stay, especially for first timers who haven't been to a hostel.

GermanyIt is very beautifully designed, so you enjoy spending time in the common areas. Their breakfast offers are quite cheap and really tasty. Furthermore, it was really easy to form a group for any kind of activity with the other guests and volunteers. Especially for the Lucha Libre!
