I think this place is an absolute hidden gem! I had stayed on a beach front hotel for 10 days and it was good. However it was a family hotel so the noise wasn't great for me as a solo traveller. Additionally once I got into the rooms of Tierra Del Mar i realised the absolute step up in class. It says this is a 3 star hotel, in terms of the service, and the quality of the whole place, it is way above this! I like most people go on and choose the hotel on the sea front and I did this for the previous one. I was just fortunate to walk past one day and looked in through the small door. Its an absolute gem and perfect at just 8 rooms. So super intimate. The location to the beach is literally a 1-2 minute walk and its energy is perfect in comparison to what can be a busier beach. Breakfast options weren't many but there are so many good cafes within a few minutes it made no difference at all to me. Also the staff i have to say were exceptional, amazing local recommendations for food and just couldn't do enough for you. I don't write too many recommendations considering i've been travelling round the world the last year and have stayed at in excess of 60 places.. This is in my top 4 of the whole trip!

The property was a gem of a find. With only six rooms, it felt exclusive and peaceful – and as a couple, having the whole hotel to ourselves made it even more special. The pool was spotless, the sunbeds were perfect for relaxing, and yet it was only a five-minute walk to all the places you’d want easy access to. A great spot for a quiet, private getaway.

Beautiful picturesque setting with incredible rooms to match. Lovely breakfast which is hosted at an affiliated hotel on the beach less than a 2min walk away. Great central location and lovely helpful staff.

I guess there were some mosquitoes, nothing terrible, but they’re sort of unavoidable on the island, can’t blame them for it. Also the toilet doesn’t have a door so nice and intimate experience for you and your partner :) luckily, there are also bathrooms in the lobby for added privacy.

Immaculately clean and beautifully designed, the place is gorgeous and the staff is extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. It’s steps away from the beach and close to town. Yes, there is a bar with live music a block away, but honestly, it’s sort of the most fun bar in town and we found it fun to have so close to us. The staff also set up a very sweet honeymoon welcome for us, booked us for a fun kayaking experience and gave lots of helpful tips and recommendations. Marco, the onsite manager was helpful and sweet in every way.

We had a wonderful stay at Tierra del Mar in Holbox! The location is perfect — just a short stroll from the beach and close enough to everything while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. Our room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. The only downside is the toilet is behind the bed. A special shoutout to Isra, the manager, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend Tierra del Mar if you’re looking for a charming and well-run place to stay in Holbox!

We were lucky enough to stay for 6 nights at Tierra del Mar and we had such a wonderful time. The bed was the comfiest of all our stays! It was so luxurious! Everything was clean, functioned well and the property is decorated very tastefully. The staff were amazing, so helpful and informative, giving us great recommendations for dining on the island. We can’t wait to come back!

The hotel is slightly tucked away off the main drag but still a 2 minute walk to beach/shopping and restaurants! Only thing that I found difficult is the loud live music at a neighbouring bar which started around 9:30 and went on until 12-12:30. Isra gave me earplugs but I am a light sleeper and sensitive to sounds. We just adjusted our sleep schedule and has lazy late wake up mornings! lol

Tierra Del Mar was both magical and memorable! It is authentic to the photos represented online. Stepping through the gate I felt like I had been transported back to Bali. The zen Balinese, minimalist, natural decor elements was so calming! Loved the care to attention in meeting all your needs ie- blackout curtains, access to fresh filtered water, clothesline, a safe, lounge/pool areas and having access to Isra the hotel manager extraordinaire! He provided us with information of Holbox and made and timed our arrangements for travel back to Cancun so we could make a daytrip to Isla Mujeres. He was always very welcoming, friendly, kind and helpful as was the other staff! Loved how they raked the sand like Japanese temple grounds!!! A true gem on this magical island of Holbox! Would highly recommend this “five star” hotel (three star doesn’t reflect what it really is!)

The only slight downside was the music from the nearby streets, but with earplugs, it was manageable and didn’t disrupt our stay too much.

My friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Tierra del Mar in Holbox for a week, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel is stunning, with a serene and welcoming atmosphere that made our stay incredibly relaxing. The rooms were spotless, and it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority, as our room was cleaned every day without fail. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They were always friendly, helpful, and ready to assist with any request. Their hospitality truly made the experience special. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, and we would highly recommend Tierra del Mar to anyone visiting the island!

The front staff was so welcoming and helpful with suggestions on where to go, where to eat etc. The room was exceptionally clean and the property was kept in great shape. It was close to the main drag of town, so it was easy to get around.

I found the rules about having guests/friends over a bit restrictive but otherwise no complaints.

I really enjoyed this hotel! It is very nicely decorated, the rooms are well equipped, the pool is fantastic and it is perfectly located. This hotel is only 1 block from the beach and not much further to the heart of town. I was not bothered at all by noise, in fact I found the place extremely tranquil and quiet. The staff overall was extremely nice and helpful too. Holbox is such a quaint place and a throwback to what many other Mexican beach towns used to be. What a treat, I will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at Tierra del Mar hotel ! The location was right in town but only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Our beautiful room was the junior suite with terrace it was was extremely clean & comfortable. The pool area was a relaxing and comfortable oasis. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who were always around to answer any questions. We appreciated the eco-friendly initiatives implemented by the hotel. We will definitely come back again !!
