Not the hotel's fault, but we were without lighting for a couple of hours, and the air conditioner wasn't strong enough to refresh at night; it was really hot.

The location, the room, the pool, and the service were perfect! We highly recommend the hotel, as well as the food and beverages.

Mosquitoes are unbearable. They hover at your door and if they get in it will be a long night.

I know everyone in Playa talks about the noise. You could definitely hear some music from 5th Ave, but it only sounded like someone was watching TV in another room and usually ended around midnight. So if you need absolute silence this may not be your place, but I did not find it to be an issue at all. I also did not like that I had to wear one of those plastic wrist bands during my entire stay, while I understand it was for security, it was rather annoying and did not seem all that necessary. Lastly, there are just a couple minor things to note - the water sputters at a times, especially when you first turn on the hot water (at one point I was worried the showerhead may burst) and the AC was a little finicky. There are ceiling fans, but you can't adjust the speed. Lastly, the there is a coffee maker, but there is no electrical plug anywhere near it - so I ended up putting it by the bathroom sink.

First of all, the room was HUGE - there was a front living area with a day bed, double showers divide that from the bed area and then a balcony on top of that. The bed was very soft, fine for me, but maybe too soft for some. The pool area is great, it was never too crowded and the pool was beautiful - perfect for a late afternoon. Also there is a bar up on the roof that is reasonably priced. The location was also great, just about half a block up from 5th Ave. and a short walk to the ADO bus terminal and ferries. I thought it was a really good deal compared with how much more it would have been to stay on the beach or at a resort.

The are is loud. While it was great to be close to everything, it is extremely loud well into the wee hours of the night.

I loved that it was very close to everything. The beach is a 2 minute walk away, restaurants, bars and clubs are all within a 5 to 10 minute walk.

It said on the website that we would have an iron and a blowdryer in our room but we didn’t. The matress was comfy but was cleary overused.

The rooftop used to be a great place for parties and hang out. I had a friend join me for a drink at the bar with no issues. The next night he came back and was stopped saying it was only for guests.

The room was big and clean but lacked amenities. I guess it was ok for the price you pay.
