Beachfront location and all of the amenities were fantastic! Staff was very attentive and resort was just beautiful. Loved it so much we will be regular guests!

The room we got was quite outdated and looked nothing like the rooms advertised on booking.com We tried to bring this to the attention of the front desk however we were told rudely they were fully booked so nothing they could do about it. Our king bed room was actually 2 double beds and the room had a musty smell to it. The all day pool chair claiming, often chairs were not used for the entire day despite being "claimed"

Aside from one of the men at the front desk (refer to the above), the rest of the staff were incredible, couldn't do enough for you and the food and drinks on offer were top notch! The nightly entertainment was also much better than we expected. The pools were large and always a good bar nearby! Despite some of the negatives, we would definitely recommend The Fives as there were so many good things about this place, and if we were to return, make sure we were specific with checking the room we were getting was what was advertised.

that there was an activity to do every night. Dances, Live Music, Shows, Casino night...etc. There were plenty of pools, places to eat, shops, beach access, great music, very beautiful resort.

The beach was terrible, only one little space to swim that was protected with sand dunes. It seems that they had problems with sea urchins or erizos. I think they need to spend some money on their beach fronts.

The food could have been a bit better at times, there was no temperature control available for the rooms, and the absence of any kind of mat on the bathroom floors was undesirable as a lot of water got all over the place.

All the amenities and services provided were good. Also Felt very secure on the property for the duration we were there.

The manager was rude. We arrived late in the night, and we gave ride to a friend who arrived with us at around 3am. She had a booking for that day, the front desk girl told her she could wait in the lobby until 7am to start her checkin and they would give her the room at 3PM. My friend wanted to pay for her breakfast after waiting in the lobby, the manager came later on to say she couldn’t wait in the lobby nor inside the premises, he wanted to kick her out at 4AM, he told her she had to pay 180$ or leave and find a cheaper hotel. At the end they charged her around 165$ to stay in my room. I think it’s amazing how the manager treated a customer, how is it possible to leave any person out side in the middle of the night ? He said he didn’t care if he gets 1 star reviews from all the guests coming to the wedding. The guy had a wedding in the premises and preferred to treat badly one of the guests instead of seeing the whole picture

The property was nice. The bathrooms are not very comfortable. theres not a general door to get to the bathroom and the shower and toilet have crystal glass, so not good for privacy

The drink quality was OK. The food was good, the authentic Mexican food was awesome. The other foods were OK. The buffet should be expanded. The wait times for the restaurants were long and even after you were seated the service was really slow. Beach access was OK, but most of Playa Carmen beaches are not great.

The pool was great, the room was awesome for a family of five. The facilities were clean and the pools were awesome. The staff were great friendly and helpful. Casa de Rosa experience was worth it.

I booked a room with access to terrace but it wasn’t available when we got there. We had to move to that room two days after our arrival which disrupted the vacation vibes. They offered the upgrade for free which compensated in a way.

The hotel is nice and has many facilities. Staff is great as well.

Checked in by the little guest services and found process inefficient. Our room was also not ready and came back twice which not great . Had to change room as was by energy pool and second room was good for us not being in a noisy spot

The property is beautiful and the gardens and spaces are beautifully maintained! Food preparation is world class and the staff serving the food are attentive and helpful. Beds were comfortable and serviced daily to a high standard.

The signage around the resort could be improved. Most nights I spent upwards of 20+ minutes looking for my villa as they all look the same and only have one sign on one side of the building. The buildings are getting a touch old and are starting to show their age: leaking roof, no running water while they repaired a heater. Room service was good but took so long you would have been better off to go find something yourself.

- The only issue I really encountered was upon check in the rep charged my card even though my booking was prepaid. The refund process wasn’t the smoothest, I had to follow up a few times and the refund itself took some time (over 10 days) to get back. But I will say, everyone was mostly kind through this process. But if you aren’t on top of your charges, it would have been hard to notice. - The beach wasn’t necessarily beach front, but I don’t mind a short private walk with scenery of the jungle and wildlife! Actually preferred it so not a con at all but wished I knew prior to booking! - Sometimes the restaurant schedules didn’t match what was advertised so there were a couple meals that I struggled finding a place open which was odd.

Let me started with - this review is not sponsored and being written entirely honest from my trip in September 2023 that I paid for myself. The property was very clean, welcoming, and private feeling compared to other resorts. Having the mix of beach and jungle theme was amazing! Private area for adults and separate areas for families was a nice touch to accommodate all types of guests. This resort offered entertainment in the evenings of live music, dancing, and outside vendors. As well as tennis courts, games, and areas to relax and take in the amazing landscaping everywhere. The food was great! No complaints at all! For lunch Breeze Burger, Love Pizza, and Chechen y Chaká spots near the beach and the Natura Day Club restaurant by the adults only pool we’re all equally delicious! For dinner Arezzo - The Italian restaurant was top tier (staff was so so nice!) and the buffet restaurants Flavours and La Brasserie offered tons of varieties! As a whole, for the size of the resort there were so many options for food at most times which was nice. No place ever seemed overpacked! The room itself - I stayed in Villa 19 near the adults only pool and the suite was amazing. Rooms were modern, spacious, and extremely clean! The staff actually went to the extent of hanging a birthday sign and balloons in my room before I arrived which was so kind! I was so pleased with the room that sometimes I even preferred relaxing there instead of going out which should say a lot! - don’t forget to tip your cleaning staff because they truly go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and taken care of. To recap - Besides the minor check-in issue of being charged twice for my prepaid room (it was refunded) my stay was one of the bests I’ve had and I would 100% return. The staff was incredibly kind from the reception, servers, bar tenders, cleaning staff, and villa ambassadors! (Shout out to Alan from villa 19 making sure I had anything I needed)!

I did a lot of walking which was great after all. The humidity was High!! I sweated without doing much. 💦

I came to surprise my mom for her 70th bday. My sister comes here often. So glad I didn't miss out on the festivities. The staff made everything and everyone comfortable! Very attentive, and Just a beautiful place. All the way around. I side and out!! Highly recommend and I'll be back!!!

We have no complaints what so ever!

Friendly, attentive staff! Very clean! Enjoyable! Best of both worlds! You get to either enjoy a beach day in its entirety or a more private, laid back calmness with surrounding nature attributes. Awesome animal sightings around the property on the daily, we got ti see Coatís, Spider Monkeys and some other wild life! The food was 10/10 at every restaurant we experienced at the property. We loved our stay !

I was disappointed with some of the smaller restaurants, we had a reservation at the sushi restaurant and it took like 10 mins for someone to even look at us. We then waited as several other couples were seated before us. There were plenty of open tables in the restaurant. Was just odd. But that’s my only complaint

There were many of places to eat and drink. The resort was big enough to explore but not overwhelmingly big. The staff was incredible. A big shout out to Daniel, Kara, Francisco and Luis. We cannot wait to come back and celebrate our wedding next year!

Outside of the local food, the food quality is very hit or miss, heard a lot of people got sick, definitely avoid raw seafood. It is a shame because they have great location and ingredients but execution is poor! Just hire people to check the food before serving it! Also attitude from some of the staff in restaurant and front desk is questionable sometimes!

Overall resort is pretty good but a lot of technical issues with rooms so make sure to check it upon arrival (ac is working, doors and windows are closing, bathrooms are draining, electronics are functioning). Pools and beach are great!
