Nothing to dislike, except perhaps for a long stay closet space is inadequate. A major renovation of the hotel is planned for 2026 that will include TV and a/c in every room plus expansion of closets.

Excellent breakfasts with selection of Mexican and American dishes served in a beautiful courtyard. Location is within easy walking distance to city center and is across the street from a beautiful public park.

I think the breakfasts could have been better.

This is a small boutique hotel with only 12 rooms which makes the customer service so critical. Our experience was that EVERY Employee cared so much and gave completely of themselves. It was amazing and so appreciated.the employees were fantastic with wonderful customer, dr service

Villa Santa Monica is an unique hideaway in San Miguel Allende. The soul of the place is beautiful and exalts History. There is an harmonious atmosphere between the House the courtyard and the gardens. It is peaceful elegant and comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast in the courtyard, the evenings at the poolside. The food and service are excellent. Attention to the guest drives every gesture. The lady- host is extremely kind and very polite and friendly .

It had no heat or cooling other than a fireplace and a unit heater. It wasn’t that much of a problem except on cold morning is in February.

We needed a place at the last minute, and the staff found two rooms right away. We had been to the villa for breakfast and lunch, hoping to stay some day. But circumstances forced us to find lodging our last night in town, and we were so pleased rooms were available. It was a dream come true to stay. The staff are so kind and made us feel so at home. Knowing our dilemma, Jorge allowed us to have a late check out in order to be comfortable until the bus arrived at 3:00. How above and beyond was that? Also the rooms were so tasteful and comfortable. Stained glass lamps, beautiful tile work, fascinating original art, in a 17th century gem of a building. I hope to have an experience like the Villa Santa Monica again some day. The hotel is so timeless it will be worth the wait. Did I mention the staff are the stars?

This was not a negative for us; but if you are looking for a full service hotel with spa, fitness facility, energetic vibe, this isn’t your place. If you want a beautiful, quiet, slow-paced inn in a great location adjacent to the park, this is the right place for you!

Perfect location by the park in a beautiful historic casa. Incredible service by attentive manager and staff. Great restaurant in their courtyard. Note - breakfast doesn’t start until 8:30ish.

The rooms don't have AC but that's because the hotel is old. However, staff was very helpful and gave us two extra fans which I appreciated.

I loved how convenient the location was. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, and I enjoyed seeing the peacocks outside the hotel. Breakfast was very good especially the cappuccinos.

We got the only room that is not in the garden area of hotel. It is positioned on the outside, right next to the street, literally 5 feet away from busy loud street. Incredibly disappointing, they offered to move us next day but just too much trouble, if stayed longer would have moved, I am sure they move every person who gets stuck with this room. Busy loud traffic until about 11 at night, then starts early in the morning. Won't be able to sleep if you don't have earplugs. Do not let them put you in the Suite De Los Reyes. This suite not like any other on property. While these rooms are historic and beautiful beware that there is no AC and no heat and no FAN, rooms were hot when temp outside was beautiful. For price, basic amenities missing in rooms, no mini frig, no coffee pot, no iron. Room was not cleaned well each day, had to ask for fresh towels. Room was large and could have been wonderful if not on street and had fan to moderate temp and basics for a room this price. Pool was very dirty, not usable. Need to do some upgrades/updating.
