Not the best location if you’re looking to surf

The rooms need to be updated, please consider getting rid of the staircase and upper floor carpet… it stinks! There was a guy that took over the reception for the night shift that had a really bad attitude. We were at the beach minding our own business when a big dog started chasing my sister and her puppy, we asked him to remove his dog but he just laughed and went back in the hotel, he later tried to make some BS excuse when he realized we were staying in the hotel. Also make sure to call the property to ensure that you are assigned to a room in the building that has access to the beach and the water heater in your room is working ( they didn’t let us know ours was not working and couldn’t even find the key to the water heater closet so we took cold showers the morning we checked out). The parking spaces are in the street and it’s pretty shady at night.

Absolutely loved the location, pet friendly and that it has beach access, it’s alright for a night or two. The majority of the staff is really nice and welcoming.

It's kind of expensive for not having a T.V. and the room had no heat and was ice cold. They did put on a couple of nice blankets, but getting up to go in the middle of the night was agonizing. I might stay here again, but not in the winter.

I would've preferred internal Parking, however, security patrolling the area outside was quite good.

I didn’t like that the parking is right next to the highway so close that if you need something from the trunk of your car you have to step on the highway to be able to take whatever you need from there! It is dangerous!

They have Wi-Fi, but no televisions in the rooms. The good news is my girlfriend, and I were there for a romantic weekend, so we had to find other activities to pass the time…. Most of the rooms are definitely not handicapped accessible, and there are about 90 stairs to reach the beach. Next time we’ll bring a laptop so we can stream Netflix at bedtime.

It’s pet friendly, and the location is beautiful. It’s right on the cliff overlooking the beach! The room decor is fabulous, and sets it apart from any other other hotel we have stayed at in Mexico! They greeted us with 2 complimentary margaritas, so naturally we had a couple more, and decided to order dinner while we were at it. The food was delicious, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, and accommodating. There’s no heaters, but the rooms do have fireplaces, and they sell fire logs for $8. The fireplace definitely took the chill off of the room, and made our stay even more romantic.

Disclaimer: I consider myself an old grumpy man (even though I'm not even 40) so there are things that may seem normal that turn me off. Our room was situated above the bar. The night we got there we were tired and they happened to be hosting karaoke night, which may sound like fun but we were super exhausted after a 5 hour drive and the music was unbearably loud until 1:30 am. Also, we traveled in early March which was still cold and there is no HVAC in the room, only a wood furnace for which we had to buy wood at the front desk. I know we weren't traveling just to be in a room but it's worthwhile noting that there was no tv in the room. The toilet in the bathroom was situated right in front of a window that faces a public walkway. Granted, there was a curtain at the window, but it wouldn't take much for someone to get a peak if they really wanted to. Finally, since there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, our room had a gap at the top of the wall between the room and the bathroom.

Staff was great, we arrived way past the check in time and they didn't make a fuss about it. Parking is off of main road but place seemed secure, I believe there is a guard on duty at all times as well. Restaurant had great food, service and views, plus: we got two complimentary margaritas with room booking. Room had great view of beach front (hotel is right on the beach) and each room has a certain theme which is nice. The hotel is conveniently located between Rosarito and Ensenada (almost exactly at the midpoint) which makes it easy to travel to both locations (Puerto Nuevo is also really close by).

I booked what said to be a “double room” this was just one bed and a pull out sofa that was uneven and stiff as a board. I booked specifically saying it was 4 adults and the room could only accommodate 2 adults. For the same price I could’ve stayed at Quartz abut beautiful hotel that could accommodate 4 grown adults

It was all good!

Stayed in the African room. Love all the quirky details. It was very quiet, only seemed to be aware of other guests when in the bar/restaurant area. Loved the parking spot right in front of my room inside the gated area. Great views! Empty beach feels like you have it all to yourself. Staff were very friendly. I thought it would feel far from things but there are some eateries and an Oxxo within walking distance. La Fonda Alisito was really good, ate there twice. Would definitely recommend.
