Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe didn’t know the wellness activities have to be booked in advance so we missed couple of them and it was annoying. The waiting list system should work more efficiently with WhatsApp so you’re aware of possible cancellations.
The concept is amazing but maybe not for everyone. It’s very wild. We spent one week: few days on a tent and the rest on the Ocean View Villa. Both a bit challenging until you get used to it. The beds are huge and comfortable. The deco is conceptual and beautifully organic. The program for wellness is diverse and interesting. Great staff specially José and Dani. We had a health issue caused by the mosquitos and front desk helped to call a local private doctor who came in less than one hour in the middle of the night and she was incredibly kind and helpful. Macondo and La Popular have great menu and atmosphere. The staff in both is really attentive and dedicated. The breakfast is wonderful and plenty of fruits, cereals and protein. Like you don’t need another meal until dinner. The pool area is great. Like paradise. The front desk staff is very helpful and always ready by WhatsApp.

ArgentinaThey could add personal lights in each table at night in the restaurant. Don't you notice everybody using their phone's light to see the food? The signs in the paths between the bedrooms could be much better. Everybody gets lost the first days. And the emergency exit path should be marked much more. I can't imagine what would happen if there is a real emergency.
The breakfast is great. The rooms are great. The gardens between the ruins are perfect. It is evident that there is someone checking every detail in the hotel.

United StatesWish there were a little more dining options that are available at later times.
The included breakfast was amazing. Our room was so nice and the balcony was private and secluded so it was such a nice little escape. Loved having the plunge pool on our balcony as it was a little overcast and misty when we stayed so being out on our pool in the rain was such a cool experience.

GreeceWhile the staff of the restaurants was very kind and super helpful, the reception employees were unprofessional unhelpful and impolite. Prior to our arrival, we received at least 5 different emails and What's app messages from the Facilities professionals/conceirge/ wellness instructors/reception desk with all available restaurants menus, options and timelines which we really enjoyed, however these people were very hard to find afterwards and there were unresponsive and impolite in person which took back their proactive approach before our arrival.
The location was amazing, the vibe and facilities were great (and restaurant options)

United KingdomThe only criticism from my side is the food/drinks- I really wish breakfast was included. I ate at La Popular and Macondo and both were extremely expensive BUT it is what I opted for so I’m not complaining 😊
I stayed in Tulum from 5- 13 October on my own and had the most beautiful time ever. I woke up each morning in the early hours to catch the sunrise at the beach and honestly cannot describe the views- it was like a dream. I loved my room (I stayed in the tent). Before my arrival I came across some negative reviews about the tent etc and was slightly worried however, it was perfect. Yes there was noise, but majority of the times it was the sound of birds chirping, the wind and rain- all of which added to my experience in the best way possible. I did have some loud neighbours on the last couple of days but it wasn’t a massive issue for me. Tulum in general was really quiet as it was end of season I believe- this was also a perk for me as I’m not into large crowds etc. Another thing I LOVED were the classes/wellness activities. I took part in yoga, Qi Gong, ice plunge and took part in some classes i.e. The Human Design and The Gene Key. Sadly, I missed the Temazcal ceremony (this is on Mondays each week apparently). I was barefoot the entire time I was there (unless I left the premises to visit other stores). It was an expensive stay for me overall and so, im not sure if i can ever come back, but really hope i can. Thank you!

United Kingdom- stuff at the reception was not very friendly. I was quite disappointed with a room I got, it didn’t look the same as on the booking com, it was dark and depressing, no decoration at all. And I tried to speak to the reception about it, however they were quite stubborn, and telling me „I got what I payed for” , that is not true, I payed for the room i chose on the booking.com, and you gave me completely different room, - In Addition my room was not very clean, I had mosquitoes everywhere even on my bed. I complained to the reception the next day about it, and they said „they have two options for me or they move me to another room tomorrow, or send someone to do deep cleaning ”. You guys have to do deep cleaning every day, not only when someone is complaining again… - AC was very loud in my room, it was disturbing my sleep in night. - didn’t like that bikes were available only from 7am till 5pm, in other hotels in Tulum bikes are available 24/7.
I really enjoyed my stay, it was very relaxing. The most I liked wellness activities, and would like to mention Sol she was great and friendly. Guys who work on the beach are very polite and helpful. Also I liked that Nômade has big variations of food on the beach and few restaurants, food was delicious. Omakase menu in Japanese restaurant was great on the highest level, I highly recommend to visit.

Hong KongFront desk team wasn’t very coordinated and spoilt at times the total great experience. Overall i had rarely this type of bad customer interaction in other high end hotels. You can feel the snobbish attitude probably resulting from high season when the place must be overrun. This is a real pity because it would just cost a little more training and change of attitude to keep the whole experience on a high level. Unfortunately tulum seems to have developed into a big rip off place. If you need to take a taxis just on the beachroad, the local taxi mafia is asking 40 usd…. For a 3 min / 2 km drive… in offseason…. If you are lucky they go down a little. Worst experience happened when booking a small rental car for 1,5 days by the hotel concierge. Being ripped off 325.- usd for 1,5 days, tulum - cancun airport via alamo.

United StatesWe were encourage to go off property and try some place that were all about the money and not the experience. I would recommend to avoid any place with Min spend.. , Hotel had a special event that night and was not recommend to stay on property. Auto light that keep going on in-front of our door and not go off sometimes for a while, should be changed we report it and hope they will fix it. as you don't want bugs or mood to keep changing on the amazing patio.. Could only get Ice after room service closed, recommend to have basic available like fresh limes for late night tequila or your sick some things to help. Alll was locked up
Place is amazing if you want to get away and relax and love the beach this is the place, Very clean beach and property, Our room was great better then expected, our outdoor area wow! We did not use the plug pool as it was cool at night. The sound of the waves were great. Jungle hotel all outdoors. They Provided all natural Bug spray and Sun tan lotion at the pool , most places would try to charge you, this was nice tough. . Place is amazing.. They have a lot to offer if alone and I was on a date and they made it special.. Sushi Restaurant was perfect , try it if you love Sushi.. great experience and worth the cost. We will go again and stay in the same room.

NetherlandsOur rooms were near the main generator and because they are tents the noise kills the jungle atmosphere. It wasn't uncomfortable but would be a good point of improvement if they were able to move them somewhere else.
Great vibe and atmosphere directly on the beach. Fun to have a tent as a room with an open bathroom. The staff is insanely friendly and the breakfast is superb.

AustraliaThe sargassum has completely destroyed Tulum, and there's not much you can do at Nomade to escape it with only a small pool. It's a real crisis across the Caribbean and I hope it can be solved somehow. That said, the hotel could've disclosed the fact the beach was unusable, at time of booking, and directed us to their sister resort in Holbox. Or at least been sympathetic and flexible rather than rude and dismissive. I understand business must be tough, but ripping people off at every opportunity is rarely a sustainable business model. The hotel was almost empty yet we were told at checkin, "no we don't do upgrades". Plenty of other nice hotels along the Tulum strip, if you're lucky enough to be in town when the beach is clear.
Beautifully themed resort in the jungle on the beach, stunning rooms, incredible attention to detail.

United StatesBliss at its best From the moment we arrived at Nomade Tulum, we were greeted with warm smiles and taken to our rooms ( one jungle bungalow & one beachfront) The staff, particularly concierge Ricardo, Tito, Piraña ( next time were going spearfishing! ), Sol at journeys, and the never stop beach cleaning team : one gentlemen from Acapulco & one from Honduras plus all the waiters by the beach and at both restaurants: Macondo and la Popular plus Antonio Capitan de meseros were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our entire stay. The beachfront location was breathtaking, and we loved waking up to the sound of the ocean waves and watch pelicans fish all day. The whole stay left us feeling rejuvenated. The food was exceptional, from the superb breakfast ( try the Croque madame , a must) to the chef's special at the restaurant La popular ( Amazing cuisine with some of the best fish dishes not only in Tulum, in the Country). We particularly enjoyed the Tuna tartare by the beach)). Rooms where always impeccably done and the housekeeping team is invisible. If looking to pamper yourself in a quiet amazing stretch of the most beautiful beach in Tulum without lound music and obnoxious people ( I strongly recommend to leave the kids at home or go to a different hotel if your planning to bring them here. This is a serene environment, surrounded of wellness activities and a cool vibe.We dont need kids jumping by the pool or watching cartoons over moms mobile phone. If yours are over 16 and can relate to yoga and a pyshodelic breathing classes ( which by the way was incredible) and are well behaved then bring them to connect with nature and a cool vibe, otherwise, find an all inclusive in Cancun. Overall , our experience was outstanding, and we would highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a relaxing and memorable getaway." Cannot wait to get back
