Stayed at this property early April for an annual Girls trip and had an amazing experience. The property is Beautiful with an easy walk across the street to a almost private beach. Our Host Armando was exceptionally helpful and always available to help with anything. The Mayakita restaurant is literally a few steps next door and the food , staff and prices were great. There is also an Italian restaurant a few steps away and the food and staff (Alfonso our server) were also great. The only issue we had was with the hot water so many times we had to take cold showers. We would however definitely return to Mayakita.

"Our experience at Villas Mayakita far exceeded our highest expectations in every way. The cleanliness of the accommodations and the breathtaking views of the ocean that greeted us at every hour of the day were simply stunning. When I fell ill on the day of our arrival, Beth went out of her way to arrange for medical attention and ensure I had the necessary medications. This act of kindness alone deserves a 5-diamond rating. Their genuine care for our well-being truly made our stay memorable. In addition to the fantastic amenities, including a well-stocked kitchen, washer, and dryer, Villas Mayakita provided umbrellas and chairs for a day at the beach, a barbecue grill for outdoor cooking, and bikes for touring the island. Riding to Punta Sur every morning to enjoy the ocean view became a fun and cherished routine during our stay. We spent 8 wonderful days at Villas Mayakita and wished we could have stayed longer. Isla Mujeres provided a sanctuary of peace and tranquility, allowing us to fully savor precious moments with our family and find inner peace. A heartfelt thank you to the team at Villas Mayakita for making our stay so delightful, comfortable, and serene. We are already looking forward to returning soon."

this can be a pro or a con depending on your preference but the location is quite remote from playa centro/norte and the ferry terminal so you’ll need a taxi or a golf cart to get there and back. also the beach across from the apartment is rocky and has more waves than the north and eastern side beaches

great location away from the crowds and in a more private location towards south of island. The hosts were extremely helpful and responsive- calling taxis for us, recommending food, etc. There is also a breakfast cafe right next door which came in handy for our slow mornings. I would recommend booking for a group holiday!

The ceilings are so high in the living area that it causes an echo with any talking etc. We couldn't listen to any music because the echo was so bad. For the size of room it was we didn't feel there was enough couch/chair space for all of us. It would have been nice to have had a few additional living room chairs. We also found the kitchen to be poorly laid out. The microwave was above the sink and it was easy to hit your head on it when doing dishes. The dishwasher is so far away from the sink also. We also had a terrible time keeping the stove top on. It just kept going off on it's own. That made it very slow and difficult to cook anything. Loved the top hot tub deck but it is very unsafe when you have a toddler. We didn't use it much due to that. The house is located more in the South end of the island but we enjoyed the quiet. It only took 10 mins or so in our golf cart to get to the hustle and bustle part of the island. Not a big deal at all. You for sure need a golf cart if you plan to go any where.

The rooms were big and spacious. Everyone had their own very comfortable bed. We were provided a very nice pack n play for our 16 mo. old and put it in the very large master bathroom that worked out really well. The view of the yard and pool and ocean were very nice. It was great having a maintenance person living on the property. We had a problem with getting hot water the first night and it was fixed fast. Just needed a new battery in the water heater. Having 4 bathrooms was a plus! And the dining table and chairs was amazing! And the water that was provided with so nice to have. Thank you for that! We had plenty of space for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. Very beautiful home.
