Fantastic property in a great location. Staff were excellent and super attentive with very good comms (including WhatsApp chat). Room was beautiful and we had the one with the private terrace which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent - loads of options and all delicious. Having the afternoon drinks and tapas options was a really nice touch. We loved this place and the only downside was having to leave.

We stayed in the Madera room, near the main road. The window faced the street which was noisy and there was no way to open it for ventilation. We had to keep the aircon on to have some ventilation.

We loved our stay at Hotel Materia. The set up was beautiful and private. Staff were really friendly and helpful. They helped me organising Taxi, laundry service and returning a precious shirt I forgot in the room.

Everything was perfect

Like everything else in Oaxaca, hidden behind a door is a beautiful property that you would never know existed. We had the room with the extended patio and it's one of the most beautiful rooms I've ever stayed, not for its size but for its character. The breakfast offered every morning was amazing and the staff were excellent as well. I couldn't recommend this room and hotel more than I can, it was the highlight of my trip!

From before check in the hotel staff were very informative, giving recommendations about transport and restaurants. Staff were amazing during the stay, breakfast was great every morning. Location was a 10/10 with a 5 min walk to the zocalo. The cocktails were delicious on the rooftop. Jay was amazing, helping us with anything we needed and amazing local dining recommendations. Would 100% recommend this place.

The tap in our room needed to be fixed but that’s only a minor problem.

Very easy check in. Great location and shower and a fabulous breakfast, they keep in contact with you via watsapp and you can put your food order in the message and they delivery it to you, same goes for a taxi, you can just text the person in charge and they will order one straight away for you. All makes for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. If I would stay again i would book the larger room … it looked amazing

The property is on a main road which can be a bit loud at times.

A cute little boutique hotel. Our room was extremely comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was included and delicious. The staff was amazing. We had a medical incident and they helped us find a doctor immediately to come to the hotel and help us.

It was a perfect stay!

The rooms were clean with outdoor space (we had a loveseat, table and chairs for eating, hammock, and extra seating), hotel staff was friendly, hospitable, and very helpful ensuring that we ordered breakfast, called taxis for us, sent our clothes out for laundry, etc making us feel even more at home. There were small touches that contributed to our experience, in addition to comfortable beds, consistent hot water, great water pressure, and the hotel’s walkable location. We’ll definitely return!

If I’m nit picking, given it is a hot climate, I expect bugs but the room door to the courtyard has an unnecessary big gap which could be closed off.

The rooms are a good size and it was an easy location to everything we wanted to see.
