Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe love to swim in the sea but it's not really an option here. The water was filthy (looked like sewage). There's also plenty of warning signs on wildlife (crocs, sting rays, jelly fish etc.) that kept our family out of the sea.

MexicoCero entertainment and ambiance. They only had music one day in the pool, charge for kids club and have very few activities for them. Kids pool is outdated as well as the kids club.
Love the views- the pool - sunset and the location. Good food. They lend you beach toys for kids

MexicoThe hotel needs maintenance. It looks old and tired. Extremely difficult to get a sun lounge by the pool, this really affected our experience.
Delicious food and amazing service. Waiters at the pool and restaurants really go the extra mile.

MexicoThe restaurants for dinner weren't a great fit for our family. Though we didn't visit the one next to the beach, the asian one in back didn't have a kids menu or good options for the kids. The American-style sports bar didn't have many vegetarian options. One night we had room service and the pizza was edible not good. Our excursion to Las Caletas was okay, not great.
Loved having a cot in our room at no charge, and the pool was BEAUTIFUL. The little island in the middle was a hit with my kids. The breakfast buffet was delicious and really good. We also really enjoyed the cafe/stand that had crepes and ice cream. Seeing the whales on a trip we organized ourselves was absolutely incredible.

United KingdomRoom was full of mosquitoes. No mosquito screens on the doors to the terrace. It’s an American resort so expect an American cultural experience rather than a Mexican one.

United Arab EmiratesThe property is somewhat dated and some of the restaurants (Champions) and the gym feels like its stuck in 1990. It's quite obvious that it hasnt had a major renovation in 5+ years. The restaurants on site are mediocre and overpriced. All really good restaurants are minimum 10 Uber away. In general, the hotel is far from the interesting part of Puerto Vallarta (El Malecon and Zona Romantica). The ocean near the beach is not really swimmable as the water is not clear and there are salt water crocodiles in the area. Maybe they could have cordoned off an area for the hotel guests? And finally, the hotel touts its sustainability all over the place but it's a sham - they have organic and inorganic recycling bins all over the property but no trash cans so people throw their trash in the recycling bins and the staff throw away all the recycling. Even though we separated our recycling in our toom, we saw on multiple occasions cleaners would just dump all of it in the trash.
Layout with the pool is great. Balcony views were great. Staff was friendly. Kid / family friendly. They replaced our fridge when the original wasn't working and after the repairman couldn't fix it. The jungle concept in the middle of the rooms is nice and removes excess noise.

Canadawe stayed for 14 days, I booked from March 20 and leave on April 3, unfortunately it was broken down to 2 accommodations, the first one was from Mar 20 then I had to close the account on April 1st and book again from April 1st and leave on April 3rd. But on April 2 no chamber maid visited our room to clean and replenish our water, very disappointed on that one.
Everything is good, pool is always organized and its great that there is always someone there that can assist us if needed, room is just right, breakfast is Execellent.

United KingdomCompared to the Marriott Resort in Cancun, the facilities were limited. There was just one central pool for all age groups (no separate adults-only pool) and really only one restaurant for dinner. While there are good restaurants in Centro and Zona Romantica, they are 30-40mins away from the hotel depending on traffic. For an $833 per night room, I would expect breakfast to be included but it wasn't. The beach was continually red flagged for the presence of crocodiles and other dangerous marine life so I didn't swim. The service for the Heladeria was excruciatingly slow; there either needs to be more than one member of staff behind the counter or a greater sense of urgency as waiting 30mins to be served feels avoidable.
Beautiful, quiet and secluded beach with a great view of the bay and the Pacific. Polite, attentive staff. Extremely convenient for the airport (only 10mins away). Nice clean hotel. Lovely spa and treatment package.

United StatesThere wasn't anything that we didn't like about our stay, but there were two areas that people would want to know about before planning their trip: FOOD: If you're a real food buff, you probably want to head into town for foodie tours & avoid resort food most of the time (with any resort, not just the Marriott), but it was fine for us. It was descent resort food. Nothing spectacular, nothing bad. If you don't need every meal to be spectacular, you'll be fine here. BEACH: If you're going to PV for the beach, you'll want to head farther north into Nayarit or even Punta Mita where the sand is softer and you can walk for miles. The resorts in the central part of PV tend to block off their portion of the beach so you have a shorter stretch to enjoy, and the sand is also more course here so it's not as fun for children to sit & play in all day. And then there are all the warning signs for crocodiles, sea urchins, & jelly fish that are more common here because of the river. This keeps us from wanting to be in the ocean in this part of PV. We were fine to walk along the beach a few times & enjoy the pool when we wanted to swim; but if the beach is what you're going for, you'll want to move farther north.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. LOCATION is great for convenience of getting around. Easy jaunt from airport, easy uber to Malicon, close to lots of tour start points. PROPERTY is well kept and beautiful. We appreciated the balcony with an overhang in our ocean front room so we could enjoy the view each day. Sometimes, ocean front rooms have to have the black out curtains drawn all afternoon because of the intense afternoon sun. With a balcony & overhang, there were only a few hours each day when the sun blasted through our window & we were at the pool then so it was no big deal to draw the shades & head out. We also liked the extra storage space in our suite for luggage. NOT ALL INCLUSIVE makes this resort very appealing to us! We don't drink, we don't like to stuff ourselves with a ton of food, and we aren't night life people. Sometimes, we have to pay all-inclusive prices to stay at resorts that we like, but it's a waste of money for us. It's nice to stay at the Marriott PV because it feels like a big All Inclusive resort without the hefty price tag. It also draws a more refined crowd because it's not All-Inclusive. Lots of the A.I. resorts appeal to people who want to drink themselves into oblivion every day and they want to party at night. Not our crowd. POOL & JACUZZI were great! The pool is big enough for lap swimming early in the morning, playing with grandchildren, hanging out by the infinity wall & enjoying the view, relaxing in the built in pool chairs, or enjoying the swim up bar. We especially like the big jacuzzi attached to the pool. A perfect way to relax muscles after a big swim or keep grandchildren warm when they're in & out of the pool all day. PLAY AREAS for children make this a favorite resort to bring our family. Little ones can play in the separate water area and older grandchildren love the big activity court with basketball, chess, and other activities. SERVICE was very...
