Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLittle inconveniences and broken things. The doors to the balcony wouldn't close fully. Water leaked out of the shower. There was some noise from the street, but it wasn't too bad. Every time I entered or left the hotel, someone had to come and remove a padlock from the door.
The location. The overall level of comfort.

GreeceMy dad did struggle a bit with the bath/shower combo so if someone has super limited mobility that is something to be aware of.
We were so happy that we found this place it was perfect. Excellent location about 1 block from the Zocalo, quiet at night, super kind and helpful staff, giant rooms with aircon, and had an amazing breakfast that changed every day. Could not have had a better experience.

MexicoThey advertise a hot tub but with a water shortage that was not possible. Please booking.com remove that from the list of amenities. Also it’s true about the slippery nylon polyester sheets. It would be nice to have cotton. Minor things really as we slept like logs each night.
We loved this small bed and breakfast hotel. We chose it because it was close to the zocolo (main square) Both Veronica and Mara were exceptional hosts. Our breakfasts were delicious with a different entree each morning of our 8 days. Rooms were spotless. Veronica booked a tour for us, Ruta 1 which was a wonderful day away. We saw so much of nature, landscapes and culture. That is your best choice for a tour. Cost us $500 pesos plus entry of $220 pesos and includes an amazing buffet lunch. A full day on the road 8 am to 8 pm. Canadian the cost is around $60 for the whole day. Taxis are readily available outside the front door however they will book a car for you. Note that nights are quiet and you can get a good rest.

United StatesSheets were very uncomfortable, not cotton. A/C didn’t really cool the room. Couldn’t keep courtyard door open because of bugs. 24/7 padlocks on all doors was a little disturbing- unable to get out quickly in emergency. Shower was always cold water.
Convenient location, nice room, lovely bathroom, view and doors to courtyard, excellent breakfasts, wonderful staff.

United StatesInternet was not good. The room was okay. AC made loud noises. Bathtub/shower spilled a lot of water out on the floor. Bedsheets were not cotton but polyester.
The staff and location were very good. We were the only people staying there so got more attention.

United StatesOur room didn't have much outdoor light, and because of the location, the door to the street was always locked, so someone needed to unlock the door every time we departed.
The staff was very accommodating. For example, I needed a small desk for my computer work, and they brought in a table and chair. The breakfasts were excellent. The location is a block and a half from the Xocolo, the central square.

United StatesThe bathroom was beautiful and spacious , the only thing I would suggest is having a shower stall, rather than having to climb into the jacuzzi tub and out, For an elderly couple that would present a hazard.
The staff was very friendly and with my limited knowledge of the language, they were very helpful. They assisted me with finding transportation to out of the city and the airport. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff very pleasant and accommodating.

United StatesI don't know why the front door is locked during the day, was kind of odd. It was a bit pricey but you're paying for a large space w/ a large bathroom.
The room is spacious and elegantly designed. The bed was very comfortable and we could sleep comfortably w/o noise and light. The location is only about a block from the Zocalo. The hot tub was awesome! It was so relaxing after a long day of walking. The staff was very kind and even prepared a nice breakfast display the next morning. What a nice touch!

United StatesBreakfast was simple but tasty and convenient. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The A/C wasn't working and they immediately addressed it and provided us with a fan and offered an additional night free of charge. The front desk person even helped me get my laundry done - he called around and found an express service and delivered and picked it up for me. I was thrilled with how hospitable, thoughtful, and friendly everyone was.

United StatesThe water pressure was very, very low. Not just one day but for the whole week that we were there. And the shower bath was constructed in such a way that after your shower, you had to use your towels to soak up all the water that came out of the tub. Not too mention getting in and out was tough on a non-usage Jacuzzi tub where you had to take your shower. Otherwise, the room was very nice and large and of course Netflix on the TV was the best.
The location of the property was perfect was walking distance to all the activities plus the Zocalo and all the Beautiful museums easy to get back to the room. Plus, the room was so insulated that you could not barely hear the outside world - plus.

MexicoI didn’t like the fact that I feel victim of bait and switch advertising. The property boasts whirlpool tub and shows it prominently in the fotos. However upon arrival we discovered there was no water to the tub. This was not mentioned when we booked or when we checked in. We had just been on a 12 drive to reach Oaxaca and the whirlpool tub was highly anticipated. Well, that dream was gone in an instant when the ask agent said we they don’t work and have not worked in some time. If they don’t work don’t advertise them as an amenity. That is false advertising and not fair to the renter!
The property is beautiful and meticulously maintained. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was a challenge with entry and exist of the bathtub being an issue. You have to step up and then a long step down into the tub over the edge of the jetted tub. He exist was more challenging when the tile is wet.

CanadaHotel entrance was locked throughout. Had to rattle a wrought iron gate and wait to be heard before the staff would unlock a cheap locker-type lock to let us in. Asked for a key to the lock but was refused. When we first arrived the desk clerk did not want to unlock the wrought iron door and admit us. I pleaded that "tenemos una reservation, my nombre is David, etc, My wife waved a printed itinerary of our trip with the hotel name on it, Still denied entry. A neighbor joined us and spoke with the fearful desk clerk (a fifteen-year old girl) and finally we were admitted. We were assigned a room described as having a courtyard view. The courtyard was a parking lot with cars parked closely to our ground floor window. We asked for and received a better room which proved large and comfortable but had no window. Locked in below without a window above equals high fire danger. There are only three rooms at this hotel We stayed four nights with no other guests in evidence.
