Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis situation with the Internet, there is more bizarre than any place. I’ve been anywhere in the world. You have to reset your Internet with a different code every single day and a different code for each of your electronic devices. There were times that I could not use the Internet because my code had expired And I was already in bed and didn’t wanna get dressed to go down to the lobby and get a new code. Very inconvenient. I was there for five days so with multiple different devices that meant that I had to keep putting in new codes. Very annoying. Their desk staff does not speak English, which is cool, just be aware of that.
The rooms are OK. The hotel directly across the street has a great breakfast an excellent coffee. The hotel architecture and upkeep is stunning. I like the location a lot and I would definitely stay here again.

United StatesThere wasn't anything that I didn't like - but note that if you are sensitive to car smells, the window to our room was above the main road and sometimes the exhaust would get into the room.
The hotel is beautiful. Walking into the main patio is a dream - and then there is also the views from the terrace. The hotel feels very calm, and like an oasis from the very busy main street. The location was perfect for us - we were able to walk to our tour, as well as different restaurants for dinner and the main square was just a 5 minute walk away. It was nice to be able to escape the busy streets by ducking into our hotel. Would highly recommend.

Taxco is worth staying at least one night (Friday👍👍). Hotel Los Arcos is the perfect location with the most charm, comfort and friendliness! So convenient to be one block from the “zocalo” and at the same time in a quiet charming historic property. Room size and cleanliness were excellent. There is a convenient spacious area right at the corner of Calle Juan Ruiz de Alarcón and Las Conchas that served really well for drop-off/ drop-on. Streets in Taxco are seriously narrow and we were a numerous family with our luggage. Omg, soooo charming! We will be back!!!

United StatesMy bed, and pillows were way too hard. The water took about ten minutes to warm up and I felt terrible wasting so much water.
It’s located in a fabulous location. We walked everywhere and we were never more than a couple of minutes away from hotel. The building is also absolutely beautiful!

United StatesAll great!
Honestly, in a month of traveling in Mexico, this was our single favorite hotel -- just that perfect combination of charming character, historical building, amazing location in an adorable town, and very comfortable & big room. The roof deck was gorgeous. Lots of different places to sit and read a book or play cards or have a drink. Absolutely delicious breakfasts directly across the street at the Hotel Americano FYI. We looked at several other hotels while in town and are 100% this is where we stay again or recommend to friends. Not all resort fancy -- just charming and historic and so tranquil and lovely.

United KingdomThe room was extremely warm, but we are visiting Mexico in a heatwave, even by their standards!
The hotel building is a magnificent colonial town house built around a spectacular courtyard. The location could not be better for old Taxco, with everything close to hand. Citlal, the owner, speaks excellent English and she could not be more helpful. She actually took us to a friend's silver shop, when we asked for advice on where to start buying silver amongst countless shops there. We didn't need to look any further! She also clearly takes great pride in her beautiful hotel, and well she should! It was great value for money and we would recommend it for anyone who wants character, style and views (from the fantastic rooftop terrace).

PortugalNothing.
The location is excellent. It is just a few minutes from the center to visit the Cathedral, market, churches, etc. The room is spacious for 2 people and clean. The top roof view is amazing. The hot water works perfectly fine. The bed is comfortable. Many restaurants are nearby. Free parking for us, but it is in a different location. The reception is nice and friendly. The hotel has great decorations and architecture. Wifi connection is stable.
