Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaThe walls are quite thin so you will hear dogs barking from the streets. At one point there was loud music at 3:00 AM lasting quite a while. Better pack some earplugs just in case. Do note that the breakfast price is 135 $, as they haven’t updated the prices.
The view to the mountains is great (depending on the room you get) the rooms are very well cleaned and its a stones throw away from downtown. There’s even a TV with all the good stuff. Netflix, youtube, etc. The beds are super comfortable and so are the pillows.

United KingdomThe room is nice and it's located in a lovely courtyard. Also, Tepotzlan can sometimes get a bit noisy, but it's far away enough from the main street that you can't hear a thing, but it's still only a short 5 minute walk away from everything.

United KingdomNone.
Only stayed 1 night, but the beds were comfortable and there was an amazing view from the hotel terrace of the mountainside. Close to everything, as Tepotzotlán is very small.

MexicoWhen we arrived the person who opened the door seemed disappointed or annoyed, as if we were not the guests she would have wanted (maybe we were dressed plain or sweating because it was too hot, or because we didn't have a car?), there was not a single word of welcome or joy. Then we waited for her to find the reservation and when we paid she told us "there is the internet password" and half a second later she walked very fast towards the stairs, we had to run after her with our suitcases to catch up and see where our room was. She gave us the key with the same annoyed face, explained a couple of things and left without any polite phrase. THE WORST thing was that a meter from our door there was a table with an ashtray! (being that I expressly ask to be AWAY from any tobacco smoke) and at night the guests of another room sat there to smoke. That seems TERRIBLE to me. In addition, at a certain time the hotel cut off the water for there was a leak, but nobody told, we had to ask about it. The center is about a 15-minute walk away but it's a bit tiring, and the bus station about a half-hour walk away. We went in hot weather, but at night there was wind and it was a little sneaking in.
The whole town looks safe and without garbage. The hotel and the bedroom with bathroom were neat, the bed big and nice to sleep in. The TV was large although we did not use it, there was a fan although it was not necessary because the room was quite cool. There is a view of the hill although not as close as I expected. No noise on the street (no bars or hustle and bustle nearby). Few or no stray dogs. At the hotel, despite the bad customer experience, there was a kid/young man who was very nice while explained the leak and apologyzed for it.

MexicoTheres an open kitchen, that you need to ask permission to use, and is not exactly user friendly. The fridge in that kitchen doesn't work, so you have to ask staff members to store your food, meds and cool water in their family fridge, so any time you need something, you need to hunt for the staff to pass you your food or drinks, that was very annoying. It needs to have a common fridge for the guests. It wouldn't hurt to offer drinking water bottles or access to a clean water jug any time. Staying at la Hoja is not cheap, and Tepoztlán Is quite hot, there should be water offered to your guests. It's a basic need. If they make these simple but very important changes, I don't see why people would not enjoy fully their stay at this place. Pro tip: If you wake up before staff members turn the hot water tank on, you'll shower with cold water and with no pressure. You need to call for them before you take a shower to make sure everything is okay to go. Good luck!
The place is pretty, it has friendly staff, the rooms are simple, clean and organized, It also has the Tepozteco as a main view, that was very beautiful.
