My friend and I had a lovely stay in the Happy Express Hotel. The owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and obliging. There is a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. Our bedroom was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. The showers were hot. The hotel is within a 10 - 15 minute walk of all the main attractions. There is a small kitchen area with drinking water, tea and coffee, a fridge and a microwave. Thank you for making our time in Oaxaca very comfortable.

Wi-Fi was a bit weak and a little smell was coming sometimes from the bathroom.

The facility if a bit noisy, which I've learn is just how it is in Mexico. The water in the shower was extremely hot.

The location is great, both close to the centre of the city where you can find museums, beautiful churches, restaurants and travels agents. As well as to the Periférico bus station (and 20 min from the airport). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very good value for the money.

There's a beautiful sitting area/open patio in the hotel, but unfortunately you hear everything from there in the room: people at night, birds early in the morning. But if you take some earplugs, you will be fine :)

Very friendly personnel! Comfortable room, nothing crazy, simply a good bed, a good shower, a small desk and space to put our luggage: Everything you need in a city hotel. We like the outside sitting area, for some evening chats. It’s a bustling part of town, close to the market, maybe 10 minutes from the main square.

The wifi didn’t really work in my room.

The shower was the best I had in weeks. Good warerpressure and hot. The room was cool and clean.

Bathroom kept smelling bad when we didn’t use water for longer than 2hrs. Our room was located on the street side ánd next to the elevator which made it a bit noisy. So bring your earplugs, and you’ll be fine :)

Great location, friendly staff, good value for money. Don’t expect something too fancy for this price, it’s a good affordable hotel.

Rooms face the courtyard which is incredibly loud with guest chatter. We were also on the ground floor and there’s a lot of tables in the courtyard where guests sit around.

Fine for an overnight before heading to the airport. The staffed ordered us a taxi for 4am which was helpful. Short walk to main Centro area.

The shower was not draining properly and had a musty smell.

The location of the hotel is great, and the hotel has a kitchen assigned to the guest which helps to keep the drinks cold. Also has a hot & cold water dispenser for coffee or tea.

The bathroom had a bad ordour. Had to keep the bathroom door shut all the time.

Room itself was nice, great location close to city center. Lot of food and other utility options. Also the staff were gratious to allow an early 7am checkin and all round wonderful to deal with. The room service was always great and on point everyday.

There was a smell in our bathroom that we couldn't shift but otherwise it was cheap and cheerful.

Would have liked a refrigerator in the room (there was a communal area downstairs with refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker). WiFi was a little wonky sometimes, but the hotel said it was a temp problem they were working on.

Location. 3 blocks from main square and markets. Very clean. Had elevator which we needed. Relatively quiet for being in Centro.

Walls and doors are so thin that the noise comes inside the room. Position is not the best and a bit far from the cafeteria (no breakfast service at the hotel). The hotel’s has a shared kitches with free water, but no knifes to cut fruit were available (despite our request).

Basic but functioning hotel. Extra clean. Wifi was strong. Hot shower was OK. Bedding was great! Rooms have AC.

Pretty basic accommodation but there’s so much to do in the city and it was in a perfect location to return to to cool off between ventures.

Great hotel, perfect location, easy to get to all main sights in a few minutes. The staff was more than friendly and helped in so many ways - especially Itsel was really amazing. I can only recommend this hotel - and try the breakfast in Café Alex (just a few meters away), they have lovely food for a great start in the morning.
