- out of maybe 15 knives in the kitchen, only 1-2 were sharp enough to cut a mango - I could not find a switch to turn off the lights in the terrace - during the night the light is too bright and curtains are bit smaller than the window

- key pick up is very well organised - free filtered water - fast communication

While the natural lighting was great, we found the room dark at night with more lighting being needed.

We stayed in unit 4 which was a lovely large room opening onto the terrace, with space for luggage and a large modern bathroom. We very much appreciated the dedicated fridge and cabinet space for each room in the kitchen- and the washing machine! It is in a quiet residential area, but it is just a few blocks from an Aki supermarket, and walking distance to the center, Parque la Plancha, and Paseo de Montejo.

The facilities were good, the kitchen was adequate and clean. There were 2 refrigerators for only 4 rooms so lots of space in them.

The step stairs to the 2nd floor. The a/c needs servicing. The furniture is outdated and very basic. The cigar stubs need to be removed daily. I don't smoke and still there where by "my" area for the length of my stay.

Very big room. Very secure. Very clean. A lot to like. I would recommend. I didn't like that the bed was on wheels as it moved easily, but I guess that's to make it easier to clean

Extremely comfortable and spacious, with large outdoor areas with tables and chairs and also places to put out your laundry to dry. Common kitchen was very handy and kept very very clean. The entire Casa is kept impeccably clean and the owner Maurizio is a fantastic host, always quickly reachable by WhatsApp and highly responsive.

Very good location, the instructions for self check in and check out were very clear and easy to follow. The guesthouse is located in a quiet street very close to the main square and the Mercado de Santiago. The room was very spacious, clean and it has a very handy mini fridge :)

Spacious, private, easy check in, space in the kitchen and fridge, very quiet area/neighborhood, not noisy at all (but I do not mean soundproof), if you like to walk you can come and go to city center and touristics places.

Well equipped! There is a big common area. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable! Good place to stay for a few nights in Mérida. The communication with the host was also great!

Not being able to eat in the room and having to go outside and downstairs to the kitchen (even in the rain) each time was an inconvenience. The mini fridge in the room did not really keep things cool so we had to use the large (shared) fridge in the kitchen. The main house gets very hot and humid and they don’t run AC & with the no food in the room policy, you’re forced to either eat out every meal or sit in a hot dining room to eat. They do have a small fan, but it doesn’t do much. There are cameras inside the main house, which is understandable but a bit off putting. It would be wise to spend money to keep it cool vs having cameras everywhere.

Check in was easy, they contact you as soon as you book with details. The for sale sign on the house is confusing at first. This is a shared house, each room rented out individually. I’ve stayed in them before and this was the best I’ve experienced in Mexico. There are 5 rooms total, a large shared living room with TV, a large shared kitchen and dining area and a small shared laundry room (for no extra charge) outside of the main house. We loved the convenience of having the laundry there and everything worked great. They provide drinking water, which was very convenient. The kitchen has all of the basic essentials and many items are divided into the cabinets by room. There are 2 shared refrigerators, also divided by rooms. We did not have any issues with sharing the kitchen although the refrigerator can be limiting if you’re going to be cooking, etc. because of space. We booked the stay for a week and had some grocery items. Everyone seemed to respect each other’s things. The staff are friendly and helpful. The main house is the cleanest I’ve seen in Mexico. The rooms are roach free, the bed is huge and the shower has good water pressure. Staff was always around doing something and available. We stayed upstairs, not in the main house, which does have a narrow spiral staircase that is a bit sketchy in the rain, but the top (shared) patio has a nice vibe and is shaded. Downstairs is a better option for those wanting to avoid the narrow, metal outdoor stairs. There are rooms in the main house to avoid this and they look larger, but there’s the noise of others coming and going.

Communication with the host was super easy. Helpful and friendly. Close to the centre. You have all you need with the kitchen and laundry. Very comfortable and clean.

occasionally we got a slightly weird smell from the drains but it would be gone before we even could mention it to the host so no worries!

the property was clean, just as expected, and really comfortable. the kitchen was nice and had decent enough selection of cooking equipment. we couldn’t get the oven to work but there’s a good chance that was just us being stupid. the fridges are divided by rooms which is really nice. the host was lovely when we met him, and we were able to check in slightly early. the room and bathroom were big. aircon and wifi both worked well without fault. it felt safe. the walk into town was about ten mins, but flat and easy and felt safe.

Location is not the best. It's in a residential area and there's not much around for a good few blocks. 15 minutes walk to the historic centre. Curtains are thin so it's very bright as soon as the sun rises - eye mask needed.

Arrival / self check-in process was simple. Room was fine. AC, mini fridge, nice outdoor sitting area. Quiet and safe area. Well equipped kitchen. Washing machine.

The only thing I'd recommend is that clean towels could have been provided after the second night.

I liked that it felt like I was staying over at a friend's house and not like a common crowded hotel. The residential area was peaceful and quiet.

It was a real oasis. Huge shower. The washing machine was amazing. It was a pleasant stay at an excellent price. Access instructions were clear and easy to follow. We did not spend much time there, but we enjoyed it when we did. The bed was super comfortable with 2 reading lights.

Spiral staircase up to room,not easy with a normal sized suitcase! Location seem a little remote from shops and centre, though we only stayed for one night.
