The condo is ideally located just a few blocks from the beach and the hustle/bustle of 5 Avenida. It's a 5 min walk from Walmart and 13 min from Chedraui where you find the Collectivo terminal. Also, the Tucsas are just around the corner if you wish to go to a more remote spot of PDC like Playa Esmeralda. It's all very cheap, just a few pesos. The condo has everything you need. It's also very secured. The roof top pool is so nice when you come back from the beach or a long shopping day. The cleaning is done every 2 days and the whole place is very clean. Massimo is also always present to answer any question or just have a conversation about your plans for the day. Very useful to get his advice on various things to do. It was our second time at Karaluna Condo and we'll be back for sure! Thanks Massimo,

We are older travellers and we found the circular stairways difficult without hand rails on the wall side but we did manage two weeks without a fall. A small table in front of the sofa/pull out to hold a drink would be nice.

The apartment was a good size for two with a seperate bedroom.it was modern and simply furnishedThe location was great as we prefer a more Mexican community rather than tourist area although grocery stores,convenience stores reastaurants and street food were all really close by. Yolanda the house keeper kept our apartment very clean and was very friendly.Massimo the owner who lives on site was always available and checking in with us.He was always doing maintenance work so we could see why the building looked so good.The rooftop pool area was lovely with enough shade to give relief from the hot sun.

I highly recommend this place for any length of stay in Playa del Carmen. The price-to-value ratio is unbeatable. The location is ideal—just a few minutes' walk to the main public beach, the ferry, 5th Avenue, Walmart, and the ADO station. The flat itself is spotless, modern, and well-equipped with everything you might need—without unnecessary clutter. The bed is super comfortable, there’s plenty of storage with hangers and closet space, and the spacious living room stays cool and even has a balcony. The kitchen is fully stocked with new pots, pans, knives, a coffee machine, a microwave—nothing was missing. The building is also high-tech, and the air conditioning works flawlessly. The only downside was the cleaning service. The apartment is serviced every other day, which usually includes fresh towels, linens, and a general cleanup. However, while the sheets weren’t changed (which was fine), the cleaner unnecessarily reorganized my belongings—moving things between rooms, including personal items like those on my bedside table. That felt intrusive, and I imagine most people wouldn’t be comfortable with it. That said, this minor inconvenience was completely outweighed by the landlord, who is exceptional at what he does. The check-in process was seamless, the flat was perfectly prepared, and—most impressively—he carried my massive suitcase up three flights of stairs without me even asking. A huge gesture that alone deserves a 5+ star rating!

We truly loved everything about our stay. Just a small suggestion—a kettle would be a nice addition. While heating water for tea on the stove works just fine, having one would be more convenient. Also, a small drying rack for wet beach clothes would be handy. :-)

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Massimo was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and communicative, always making us feel comfortable reaching out with any questions. The apartment is within walking distance of the city center but located just outside the noisy areas, which was perfect. The bedroom featured a very comfortable bed and a ceiling fan, allowing us to keep the room cool at night without needing the air conditioning. The bathroom was excellent, with a spacious walk-in shower, and having a balcony was a great bonus. The entire space felt modern, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of room to relax. One small but noteworthy detail I appreciated was that the kitchen equipment had no lingering odors—something I’ve encountered in other accommodations. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this place!

Only downside was because it’s on a bus route it is loud in the morning around 7am, even with windows closed. Not a big deal because we were often up to go do stuff but FYI. Not sure if this is just the reality of Playa del Carmen now that it’s so big.

Amazing location from bus and ferry port, close to lots of restaurants and bars but far enough away from fifth avenue to be quiet at night. Wonderful welcoming host Massimo was kind and accessible. He allowed us to check in late after our flight was delayed (arrived close to 1am) and helped with my bag up the stairs. The pool and rooftop area is incredible!! Nice views, nice pool, there was a bbq and mini fridge up there as well as loungers in the sun and shade. The condo was extremely clean and had everything you’d want including pots pans spatula utensils etc.

We had such a lovely stay at Kiaraluna we wanted to extend our time there. It felt like a home away from home. The apartments has everything you need and is very spacious. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Cleaning is done regularly and very well. Super secure and easy to go everywhere without being in the busy / noisy part of PDC. Massimo is really lovely and communication with him was always great. Highly recommend !

Currently there is no elevator, but Massimo tells us he is planning to install one. That would be a wonderful enhancement.

Massimo and the cleaning staff were wonderful. Very helpful and kind. Massimo is friendly and the perfect host. The location is close enough for easy walking to beaches, bus station, ferry, restaurants and Walmart and a big grocery store but far enough away from Quinta Avenida that we did not have our sleep disturbed. We loved the roof top terrace with propane barbecue and pool. Wonderful place to grill, have an outdoor dinner with wine, tropical breezes. I would definitely recommend this place and book to come again.

It’s hard to find a calm place in the center of playa, as there are lots of club with very noisy music at night. This place is one of rare calm places you can find ! The cleaning service is amazing, and the host is very friendly and helpful :)

great apartments! Upon arrival at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel owner Massimo! Helpful, friendly, smiling hotel owner! Very good location. A few minutes away from 5th Avenue and the beach, restaurants, supermarkets! perfect! The hotel rooms are very clean, everything you need for everyday life. We will definitely return to Massimo!

These didn't affect us, but worth noting: -There is no elevator. The condo only has a few stories, and Massimo offered to help with luggage. Keep this in mind if you have heavy bags or lots of luggage! -The AC machine is in the living room and not in the bedroom, so the bedroom can take an hour or more to get cool. It's only powered if the keycard is in a receptacle by the door, so you should plan to come back in time to let the rooms cool down. There is a fan in both rooms though.

Amenities: The condo was VERY clean and well-maintained. The kitchenette was fully stocked with cookware and utensils. The stove and fridge both worked well. The fans and AC was enough to dry everything after going to cenotes. The pool was clean and cute. The wifi was fast. There was a locked safe that could store plenty of paperwork, passports, and kindles. Staff: Massimo was very kind and responsive to any questions. Though we never met the cleaning staff directly, they did a wonderful job. Location: Very close to a Walmart, good street food, and excellent non-tourist-trap restaurants. Far enough away from Quinta Avenida to not hear the revelry but close enough to be accessible. 10-15 minute walk from both Turistica and Alterna ADO bus stations. We felt safe walking around in the area even at 10PM. Overall, an excellent choice for people who want to go on lots of excursions and for people who want to eat delicious food! Don't waste the thousands of dollars at an all-inclusive, save money on this excellent condo and spend that money on excursions!

The stairs were a bit difficult for us older people.

Massimo very helpfully took our bags up the stairs to our room on the second floor. The apartment was very comfortable with a large firm bed. The location was away from all the noise of Playa del Carmen but a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The rooftop pool was a saving grace from the heat of the day which was much appreciated.

Very minor things. There was no tea towel for drying dishes although there was a large dishcloth which might have been the local equivalent. The pots did not have lids. There was no kettle for boiling water, although there was a hob so could boil water in pot.

The apartment was light and spacious and clean. It had air conditioning and a basic kitchen. The shower was good. There was a big clean fridge. The location is a comfortable walk to Walmart and there are lots of convenience stores nearby. The beach and main downtown area are close. The host was welcoming and pro-active in communicating useful information about check in, check out, and the apartment facilities.

Need some separate rack for microwave as it takes all work space on the kitchen table and makes kitchen set incredibly small.. I wouldn’t mind a few more different size plates or bowls . Would be great some table at the balcony, because there are only chairs. I wasn’t lucky and didn’t have a sofa in living room as it was broken at the time. Living room without sofa looked quite strange as there are only kitchen and dining table .

Good size bedroom, nice bathroom, safe deposit box, Wi-Fi, Internet TV ,balcony, conditioner, ceiling fans, huge fridge, swimming pool on the roof, very clean house overall, awesome host Massimo, good atmosphere. Everything was amazing, only thing I would mention is that there is no elevator, so if you are older or mind stairs, maybe ask for an apartment in lower floor. If you don’t mind the starts, the upper floors are closer to the amazing rooftop.
