Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. United StatesObviously, the seaweed problem is not good, but I understand that is not the hotel‘s fault. They did a great job doing the best they could to clean it up. What was really bad was the pool. The temperature of the water was like hot tub water And it did not look very clean. I ended up getting a UTI and had to take a taxi into town to get some antibiotics. And I’m pretty sure that it was from the pool.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Everything is really clean and well kept the whole vibe of the property is exceptional. The food was overall pretty good. The beloved restaurant was my favorite. The beach was exceptional!

United StatesWe had a number of issues with management; they seem inflexible and poorly empowered to make reasonable accommodations. The front desk did not have, or would not provide, change for American dollars. Their online app for making restaurant reservations was very clunky and inflexible, Finally, the beach was still covered with seaweed, and though they cleaned it up every morning, the smell was very strong. I cannot fault them for the volume of seaweed, but we did not really enjoy the beach because of it.
Rooms were well appointed and general staff members were very kind and friendly. The buffet was great, nice options and very kind staff.

ItalyThe staff organization, especially at the reception and management level, is terrible. We had booked a romantic dinner on the beach, but they lost our reservation and had to arrange everything at the last minute. One day, there was a power outage throughout the resort, but no one informed us, nor did they mention that Wi-Fi and electricity were available in the lobby. Lastly, as a Privileged guest, my checkout was scheduled for 3 PM, and I even asked for confirmation. Despite this, at 1 PM, they called me asking why I hadn't checked out yet.
The resort's location is fantastic, away from the hustle and bustle and surrounded by nature. The entertainment team is outstanding—they keep guests engaged with activities throughout the day without ever being overwhelming or stressful. The Privileged Romance room was beautiful, though some maintenance details could be improved. The food is good and offers a nice variety for an all-inclusive resort.

United StatesThe property has good sport options with tennis/pickle ball courts. But the property managers decided to organize the only place for smoking just near by. Tennis game was spoiled by smoke from smoking crowd.
We enjoyed vacation at this place. Great beach, good food, nice nature around, staff is friendly. The property is about 35 min from Cancun airport and there is no problem with transportation. Overall great experience . Plan to visit this resort again.

CanadaThe hotel has a strict check-in policy at 3 PM which cannot be adjusted due to availability. This means that if you arrive early, you cannot access your room or change to hit the beach until they check you in. Our experience started rough as our room was not assigned until 4 PM. When we went to the buffet area, we were told that a reservation was required because there were not enough seats, despite many tables appearing empty. The staff were difficult to deal with; sometimes they didn’t understand us, and sometimes they did things differently than requested. Initially, we had blue bracelets, but due to issues during check-in, they were changed to purple, which altered our experience significantly. The purple bracelet granted us privileges such as dining in a different restaurant and access to a designated beach area with services. However, the room needed significant maintenance, especially the bathroom doors. Regarding the hotel chain membership, while the staff were nice and eager to earn our business, they tried to sell memberships ranging from $29K to $89K with some discounts for staying as Gold, Platinum, or Infinity members in beachfront properties. If you are not interested, it can be a waste of time; we were tied up for 4 hours listening to presentations.
I appreciated the quiet location of the Catalonia Hotel, situated outside of the compact hotel zone area in Cancun. The beach was beautiful, and the food at the privileged member's restaurant was good. Additionally, we enjoyed the designated beach area with its exclusive services.

United StatesIt’s at best a 4* all inclusive. Rooms are ok but need some improvements, our toilet paper holder came off the wall for example on our 1st day and no one care to fix it. Food is average, buffet is ok but restaurants are poor quality and lack more offers. Drinks are poor, highly dependent on who’s serving, most often lacking quality. Service is not as good as other 5* resorts.
Beach was good and the pool is big and good for children.
