Super friendly staff, with an amazing pool with views. Small size (only 6 rooms) made it perfect to enjoy the facilities and common areas. Breakfast was made at the moment and it was delicious and very generous. Access to.the beach is a few steps away, but not longer than 10 minutes, as well as some of the main places to eat/drink in the area.

Stunning views. We liked the size of the hotel, not too big or small. Breakfast on the veranda was lovely. We took advantage of the pool and the surrounding area for some incredible stargazing. The room was comfortable, A/C was great at night. Bathroom was beautiful. There was a lot to like! We had a motorcycle which made getting back and forth to the beach/town really easy.

Peaceful, immaculate, luxurious without being stuffy. The infinity pool was divine!

I didn't have any issues personally, but could see how some people might not like the occasional bug in the shower. The hotel is not trying to poison the environment, so you might see a few here and there. This is part of nature. We stayed during low season, and didn't hear any construction others have complained about.

Loved this hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer. Staff was great. Very attentive, and at the same time gave us lots of privacy. Breakfast was terrific. Amazing views and great pool. We loved they had some pets on site as we missed our fur babies at home. Easy to get to the other towns, but we had a small car to get around (they have a few parking spots). They can arrange a taxi if you don't want to walk.

I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Zipolite. Its close enough to the chaos where you can access it in a short 10 minute walk but also far enough where you can unplug if needed.

This beautiful small hotel has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It was our first time in Mexico and we couldn’t have picked a better place to visit the Oaxaca coast for the first time. Everything is to a very high standard, from the rooms to the pool area to the delicious breakfasts, the staff are incredibly friendly. The view is epic and it is a short walk down in to town.

The fact you had to walk 200 stairs, but as said, the views are definitely worth it

Everything was great! Both the location and the staff were amazing. The breakfast was delicious and the views were spectacular. We had the upper room, where it's like a little apartment- with a kitchen, 2 rooms, and big showers. We enjoyed the fact it was off the main beach, but take into consideration it is a 5-7 min walk up the hill, for us it was definitely worth it!

There isn't anything I would not change

The property is pristine, situated on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean, the design of this hotel reminded me of a beautiful place I stayed in Greece. It's got major Mediterranean vibes. Our room was poolside and it was quiet, peaceful, we woke up to the sound of waves in the mornings. Casa Kalmar is super small yet you never see much of the people who are staying here, it is so private and you feel like you have the entire villa to yourself.

Amazing property with incredible views. It’s not right on the beach and there are some stairs that take a little bit of energy to get back up, but the view and cooling breeze is totally worth it!! The rooms are so comfortable, no problems with the AC, wifi, hot water, or water pressure. And the staff was soo nice! The included breakfast is amazing. And I loved the snacks and alcohol that you can take on the honor system :)

The entire staff was very hospitable but I really want to thank Chawndra in particular who made the stay so special! Her warmth, kindness and attentiveness made us feel so welcome every second of the stay :) The property is the perfect blend of relaxing and calming with proximity to the hussle and bussle of the nearby Zipolite main section. The secluded stairway to town also has incredible scenic views so it’s a beautiful stroll into city!
