Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWell when staying in a property such as this you can expect that it won't be cheap! Maybe having guests sign for purchases so that they are aware of prices an not shocked at the accumulation at checkout.
I thought the breakfast options were great and the chef's were top notch. They went out of their way to accomodate my pescatarian palate. All of the staff were amazing and super helpful!

United StatesI love that it’s not in a loud and busy area, it’s super relaxing and laid-back, but yet easily accessible by taxi and just a few minutes away from all the good beaches. It had an amazing pool and the most comfortable bed. The staff were absolutely amazing. There is a restaurant and bar on site, and the food and drinks are delicious. The view from the pool is really nice as well, you can see the ocean and it’s gorgeous.

CanadaI wish there was beach access. Maybe Casa Ceiba and Celeste could work together to provide Casa Ceiba a day pass. The walk to the beach is not “quick and/or easy”
I loved how small it was. Running between the room and the pool was a matter of steps. I loved that it was so private!!

CanadaIt was unfortunate that a taxi was required to go almost anywhere (but that is no different than most places along the coast)
This is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Its size, decor, cleanliness, staff and setting make it outstanding. The food is also excellent. It is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are spacious and immaculately clean and the view is gorgeous. The staff go over and above to make sure you are comfortable and happy.

United StatesA few things could have made the trip better: A little more variety in the breakfast plates Awareness previously that to go to the beach was not as easy as we expected Everything else was great
The fruit plates were very appetizing and tasty. There was more than enough every morning. Also, there were a variety of other breakfasts available for a very reasonable charge. The very best part of Casa Ceiba is Rosie and her daughter Paula. I’ve never met two people who were so caring and willing to help with anything. I will terribly miss them and their sweet smiles and personalities. Lunches and dinners were also very good and very reasonably priced. As been Said in many other reviews, the views are beautiful, but do be aware that going to the actual beach and ocean is not as simplistic as it seems. They are definitely not beachfront.

MexicoThe cocktails on the first day were great and then the next few days were made by someone different and looked completely different and tasted terrible (didn’t even finish them) so I think there needs to be some consistency regarding who is making drinks and the quality.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful with wonderful views, there are a small number of rooms so it never felt crowded, often when we were in the pool we were the only ones in there even though the hotel was fully booked. Rooms were comfortable and clean and well equipped. Although the property is not close to the town center, this isn’t an issue as taxis are easy to arrange and it’s a 10 min drive.

CanadaThere is nothing we did not like. The only feedback that can be provided to the owners as this is their issue. The staff are very kind. The younger staff need to be trained on customer service. Rosy , Venessa, Ludo great. The young kids need training lacked attention to detail. Service is slow. The pool and bar service is not great. From a business perspective they would make more money if they came around every 20 mins. Bar service is important Send your staff to Otto for service training. That being said the people are so kind.
The location and views are amazing. The rooms are great. Clean large

United StatesThe lack of food availability, the so-so drinks, the loud music. Wasn't happy that our room was noisy and our private pool wasn't private. The bartender stands right above you at the main pool area. The chefs were hit and miss with the dinners. Would have loved to see more authentic Mexican cuisine instead of international dishes. The road to access the property was completely full of pot-holes.
To be fair about our rating, it did rain all five days we stayed, so we were a bit stymied by the weather. But we did have the villa to ourselves most of the time, and the main pool area all of the time. The included breakfast was good (fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, but if you wanted anything else it was al a carte. We ate most of our dinners at the restaurant because we didn't feel like going out in the rain, and we had some major issues with the food on the night of our anniversary, but the night manager really took care of us by comping our meal. (They were also exterminating the kitchen the next morning, and it seems like the cook might have pitched a fit that night.) A lot of the time the dishes we wanted to order were not available, but probably because the hotel was pretty empty. Our main waitress was new but she was very attentive and gracious. I noticed that another one of the waitresses just sat looking at her phone most of the time. The drinks were kind of hit or miss. Good pina coladas but margaritas were so-so. We had rented the honeymoon suite since we were celebrating our anniversary, but we really didn't use the private pool (because it's not really private). The room was very noisy because you could hear all of the noise from the common areas overhead. Even when the restaurant was empty, they had loud disco music blaring. We did ask them to change the style of music to something more soothing since we were the only ones there most of the time. The manager took care of it right away. The guacamole was delicious, we had some almost every day in the afternoon!

Huatulco has a large number of huge resorts often with all in deals and if thats what you want dont choose this property. But if you want a perfect small hotel with a fantastic staff just off the beaten track with a perfect small beach nearby then this is for you. We loved it and the staff could not have done anything more to make our stay more comfortable or stress free. Fantastic location to explore the area then pop back to the hotel for peace and quiet.

CanadaVery remote. No beaches nearby. Had to take taxis every day to get anywhere. The restaurant was very limited in its menu options. The breakfast is pretty skimpy. A fruit plate with a tiny bit of yogurt and granola and a single piece of toast or a pastry. I asked the front desk if it was possible to pay the 10 extra pesos to get pancakes and she said no. I was there for six days, and luckily the chef took pity on me and gave me avocado toast one morning and a sandwich the next. They really need to be more flexible about the breakfast options. The free breakfast is worth 180 pesos so why not let people pay the extra to get what they want.
It was very quiet. Beautiful suite. The views were incredible and the sunrises were breathtaking. It’s a great place to chill out. The staff was wonderful. They let me free snorkel equipment which was great.

This place was perfect and the folks who work at Casa Ceiba are top notch. The views from the rooms and property are great and it is located in a very quiet area which is important to us. It is a small, initimate hotel and being adults only is a real added bonus. From the moment we walked in the front door to when we left they treated us like family. :) Vanessa and Paulina work the front and are so warm and friendly. Whatever you need, they will do their very best to accommodate you. The food in the restaurant is excellent and Mario is a master bartender ;) I hardly ever drink cocktails, but I couldn't pass his up! Our server, Ludo, was full of interesting info about the area and Mexican history. We also met the night man who was wonderful to chat with over our morning coffee! The AC in our room worked well which was welcome. We throughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Ceiba and would love to return next time we are in the Hualtulco area. Thanks guys.
