This accommodation was great! Very clean, which is highly important. Great shower head, with good water pressure which has been hard to find in Mexico. They also do all your laundry for you within the day and leave it folded at your day complementary, it was soooo helpful especially when I'm on a huge trip with minimal clothes having to find a laundry mat takes a lot of time out of your holiday exploring. Great location, only a short walk into the direct centre of Centro. It had a BIG thing of drinking water which is lovely not having to buy bottled water. The self check-in was great because we arrived very late at night. I would highly recommend staying here, it was one of the best accommodations I've stayed at in Mexico so far!

This is more so because I’m a solo female traveler and have to be extremely aware of my surroundings. The area immediately outside of the stay is fine, but walking toward the center of the city you will pass by the bus station and I felt a little uneasy at times. Overall walking during the day was fine, but as with most places, take a taxi once it starts getting dark!

This stay was beautiful! Easy self check-in and easy to find. I loved the rooftop and wish I could have spent more time up there. The room was cozy and I slept so well in the bed. The shower was incredible too!

Great location, very cute and clean with everything I needed including the handy laundry service. Central is an easy walking distance away. The hosts were lovely and responsive with recommendations when I requested and they also kindly let me store luggage when I went to the coast for a few days and collected it when I got back!

Beautiful accomodation, we loved using the roof terrace to enjoy views of Oaxaca. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Great walking distance to everywhere and the host was very helpful providing advice and recommendations to us!

This is easily one of the best places I’ve every stayed at. The superior double room on the ground floor (room 1) is way bigger than the 20 sqm as described on Booking.com, beautifully decorated and has everything you need and more. There was complimentary water, coffee, tea, snacks, juice, milk etc. Nice detail was the room diffuser (scented sticks) which of course depends on your taste if you like it or not but I loved it (I believe it was a patchouli blend). The bed is super comfortable, the rain shower is very warm and has a lot of pressure. The room has 2 adjacent (private) little patios which you don’t really use but it just looks beautiful and allows for a lot of fresh air to come in. I read some comments about the noise at night but I barely heard anything and I had both patio doors and the bathroom window open all night. Communal roof top and co-working space downstairs have same complimentary snacks as the room (plenty of water). The laundry service is also complimentary (which I have never seen anywhere else) and they even hang dry your shirts if you don’t want them to put them in the dryer. Location is indeed a bit of a walk to the center but I didn’t mind at all, it’s perfectly safe at night as well. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Perfect location, right in the heart of downtown. Lovely staff, basic, yet comfortable rooms, phenomenal rooftop terrace. Morning self-serve coffee / tea / breakfast bar was a nice touch. Kind people, we will be back.

Quite noisy, on both nights we had either really loud bird chirping or dogs waking us up (not on the premises but outside). They provide ear plugs so it was OK for me but not so much for my wife. It's also quite hot in the rooms and there's a fan but no A/C.

The communication through WhatsApp/ booking is great. The rooms are as shown on booking and feel nice although not super premium. The terrace is a real bonus.

Liked the location, in a more local neighbourhood which was quieter while still being a short walk to the centre. Really loved the rooftop and the room was lovely too. The laundry service was brilliant too :)

The lack of air con meant it was a bit warm but a decent fan in the bedroom made it bearable. About a 15 minute walk to the central square but taxis are always available and affordable.

The host was super helpful and responsive and the room itself was spacious, stylish and clean. Lots of nice little touches, like complementary cereal, coffee, juice etc in the room. Lovely roof terrace with views of the mountains too. They offer a free laundry service too.

Location is a bit busy and a bit far from historic place

We booked 2 rooms, we love the one on ground floor which is much bigger with nice full equipped pantry space with big drinking water dispenser. We also like bathroom and sitting area in outdoor space. Laundry complimentary is such a great help for us, it is quick and neat! Clean spacious roof top is a plus.

No issue at all but the hotel is about a 20 min walk to the main centre of town. The walk is down a main road with lots to see and you can also get a taxi easily if you didn’t want to walk.

It‘s a 15-20 minutes walk from most of the restaurants, museums and touristic areas. This can feel a bit long when you stay multiple days and frequently visit these areas. An alternative are taxis which might take almost as long during rush hour.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa 821! The interior was beautifully designed, and the amenities were thoughtfully provided. We especially appreciated the kitchen/bar and rooftop area, which gave us the chance to enjoy a relaxed dinner at home during our trip. The free laundry facilities were a great bonus, especially as we were travelling for a few weeks. Although Oaxaca was very hot during our visit, the fan kept us comfortably cool-particularly at night. The host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

The echoes from doors closing due to not fitting perfectly was a tiny bit noisy and the bathroom faucet was a little loose. Neither of these things were serious and earplugs were provided that I didn’t need. The door locks were basic but I felt safe enough due to the main entrance lock and the area felt safe.

Clean, spacious, well designed place with very nice terrace and common areas to have a morning coffee and snack or evening wind-down. The room was so comfortable and clean. The fan and opening windows before sleeping made a cool enough sleep. I loved the self check in process as an introvert.
