Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI've stayed at Hotel Carlota before so I have nothing bad to say.
Hotel Carlota is a little hidden gem in CDMX. It's a great value and centrally located to all the great neighborhoods. The pool area is a great place to chill out and listen to music or work on your laptop.

The swimming pool and the accommodation are really nice.

AustraliaIn the pool there is one swimming lane, the lines are very small & meant to make the pool look a lot wider than it is. It is one lane. There was one window into the courtyard from my room 210 but the room was otherwise excellent. I would stay again.
Functional room layout, large for the price. Excellent supportive yet comfortable bed with kind of thick memory foam pillows. Great location. The pool was operational & passable for laps - it's about 15m long.

MexicoThe AC is very basic and it's actually pretty loud. The pool is very cool but it's very awkward to use because it's very exposed and right next to the tables from the restaurant.
The location is unbeatable, the staff is super friendly and helpful, it feels very safe and the architecture is very interesting! The beds are very comfortable and they have several types of pillows to fit your preference. Minibar drinks and snacks are complimentary so that's a nice touch. Their toiletries are top tier quality.

United KingdomSome of the staff are rude, unhelpful and seek to make extra charges. Service in the bar or cafe is very slow indeed. Less good than my staff in 2022

IrelandI WOULD NOT RECOMMEND paying for a suite in this hotel. Our room had a terrace with no furniture, It looked like a prison exercise yard. It was obvious that there should have been furniture as there was a sun umbrella stand but no umbrella, chairs or table. When I asked the staff they said they’d try to find a chair “or something” but nothing appeared. Also Booking.com said there was a bathtub but there are NO bathtubs in any room in this hotel.
The design is excellent, great location

IrelandThe floor of my bed room could be a bit cleaner , but nothing major.
The hotel is very cosy without overwhelming its guests . Accommodations are charming and practical with a lot of character giving new life to old structures. The breakfast is definitely a highlight and staff was very nice as well .

United StatesThe swimming pool was not attractive and was being worked on. Lighting in our room 210 could have been better. Would have liked a coffee maker in the room.
Breakfast was very good. It was nice to be able to choose from the menu. The hotel is well-located in a nice neighborhood. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was great and fairly priced. All staff we encountered were super and helpful. Loved the elevator! A/c was important. Had a great massage in the room!

Czech RepublicThe entrance to the hotel is unattractive, it feels like a "tunnel." The internet in the room kept disconnecting. The room key card needed to be reactivated daily (sometimes even more often). The room is small, and it’s easy to bump into the concrete bed. The design is industrial (dominated by concrete). The elevator is "caged" and has noisy closing. The pool was dirty for the first two days of our stay, and there is no outdoor shower. Pool towels are not provided automatically (available upon request). The window in the room does not open and faces an interior corridor, so the room needs to have the lights on constantly. The lighting is weak. Breakfast is served only from 8 AM (in my opinion, this hotel should not be categorized as "suitable for business trips"). The restaurant staff will not provide breakfast earlier, even upon request. Right after the first breakfast, the staff told us that although breakfast is included in the hotel rate, the "service" is not!
Very good location, comfortable mattresses, warm water in the pool, comfortable loungers (only 2 available, fortunately the hotel was almost empty). The hotel staff were pleasant and always ready to help. Excellent fresh juice, delicious coffee, and perfectly prepared eggs (expect à la carte breakfast, not a buffet). Attractive seating area behind the pool.

United StatesAs a thirty-something traveler, this was a great hotel for me. However, there was a pool party one day that I personally didn't mind, but could see it being bothersome to other travelers, so I suppose one should be wary of the age range of hotel guests. In terms of hotel service, everything was great!
The room was quite cozy in size, but for one person it was just right. I really enjoyed the proximity to Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City's main avenue. You're steps away from the Hamburgo MexiBus stop or from walking to the Angel de la Independencia. Overall great location and wonderful hotel. Very contemporary and accommodating.
