I caught a big marlin while I was there and they said it would be a $1.80 a lb to filet vaccum seal it and freeze .I go to pick it up to take it with me home on Friday all of sudden it’s $2.20 a lb and if I payed by credit card there would be an automatic 16% mark up which was an extra $54 dollars in my case .This after I spent $2700 renting a 28’foot boat for 3 days ,and $1500 for a week stay for 4 people . I don’t really like to dunk on people, but here it goes. I’m rich and I can stay anywhere I want and fish wherever I want and rent a boat about any size for however many days I want it’s the dishonesty that always happens in Mexico. this prevents me from going back to places like this like Buena Vista. I think they thought I was white I m just very fair skinned and I Speak fluent Spanish, but it’s shit like this that pisses me off where people are always trying to pull money out of tourist because the tourist are trapped because the tourists are trapped and have no other option and have no other option but to pay top dollars dollar to get there fish home I ended paying 3 times $340 cash to Buena vista to avoid the extra 16% markup on my credit card. I paid another 350 at the airport to check it in with my bags and Mexican customs shook me down also had to flash my gov id to show them away I used to work a lot in Mexico and know everyone and I don’t even care it was all budgeted in and I was prepared to give your guys 500 cash but once you sprung that extra 16% credit card markup, I gave you what it was worth 340 so you actually lost money by being greedy and as much as I like your place, I definitely won’t be back there. I’ll stay somewhere else where they. Are upfront and honest with me from the get-go. Remember, treat people good and honest and they’ll be back and they’ll leave all their money at your resort not bring any home with them jason rm #31

A bit windy and hard to escape from the wind near the pool. No other choices for restaurants nearby.

We had a poolside room. Lovely pool and mineral pool, large lounge area around the pool, adequate lounge chairs. Nice pool bar. Great palm tree setting. Beach was expansive with beautiful beige/white sand. Awesome food and restaurant. Quiet and relaxing. Friendly staff.

Wifi is very slow so if you need to book further hotels , don’t count on it, you’ll time out before ending your air bnb or other reservations.

Nice little resort with great atmosphere. Nothing around but all is there. On a beautiful white sandy beach . Jacuzzi. Hot swimming pool with a bar in the middle. Games for free. Ping pong. Pool. Iron. And more. Good food at restaurant on site with some evenings with a singer. Possible massages onsite. And snorkeling, diving, fishing excursions may be booked from the hotel. Rooms are a bit old but clean and confortable. Little private patio Is fun too ! Shower with hot water and good flow.

We love the kind staff, delicious food & great accommodations at Buena Vista. We feel like family when we arrive and are always sad to leave. Not a huge tourist trap resort... is a small wonderful place.

Overall, it was great and I talked to my family about booking rooms again next year and inviting more of the family to spend the week at your resort with us. However, the beds were very uncomfortable and my son in law had a lot of stiffness and pain in his back so did not sleep very well. Sorry to say that because of the bed, he prefers to stay a a different resort that has a better, more comfortable bed next year.

Wonderful staff, they were very kind, attentive and accommodating. The location was great and there was lots to do. We ate at the restaurant all 3 evenings we were there and loved the food. They even cooked the fish my son in law and grandson caught that day. It was the best fish dinner I have ever eaten. Taco Tuesday was great Mexican food with lots of variety, we liked it all! The pool is nice as was the hot tub which was the perfect size for the whole family and then some. The beach is beautiful with a hot spring near where the boats are launched. It was very convenient for my family to book a fishing trip and broad the boat at the resort beach. We enjoyed using the paddle board and the scuba mask.

Like others have said it’s in need of updating in general to be perfect— it has character and good vibes.

We had a beautiful renovated room (we called ahead to confirm). It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The beach was phenomenal. The food was extraordinarily good.

The staff was extremely accommodating especially Axel. He personally set up an alternate fishing trip and shuttle to San Jose when the weather did not permit us to fish out of Buena Vista. The facilities and rooms were comfortable. That being said, I will surely visit again.

The property overall needs an update, though I would encourage maintaining/restoring the traditional mexican architecture and design.

We loved the property setting, beach buffet and music in the evening. It is a beautiful setting, and nicely laid out.

It was very nice there until the weekend when inconsiderate, noisy Mexicans arrived. Loudspeakers were set up at the hot water pool with tasteless loud music, many children were playing in it, that's actually what the big swimming pool was for. Adults sat together in groups in the pool, talking loudly and obviously consuming alcohol that they had brought with them in their own thermos cups. In the evening in the restaurant, despite the subtle background music playing, the box with their own music was placed on the table, which resulted in a terrible mix... The food what they brought with them was eaten at the tables by the pool, the leftovers remained on the tables... We left the next day. The food in the restaurant is not very Mexican, the selection is not large, there is no change in the dishes.

The location on the hotel's own beach and the hot springs are great, in the sea and in the pool. Very nice area with lots of palm trees and flowering plants everywhere, fountains in between, and the pool is also nice with the loungers around it. The hotel has its own loungers/sun protection on the beach at no additional cost. Comfortable bed, parking space at the entrance. Free drinking water from our own source is provided. Nice place to relax.

Some might say the decor could use a refresh...as the resort still has a Seventies vibe...but mid-century modern is in these days, so we didn't mind.

The opposite of Cabo in the very best way! So relaxing. The location is phenomenal. So are the natural hot springs on the resort, which flow into the ocean, which is otherwise cool in winter. We loved that the same family has always owned the resort, and that they still seem to love hospitality, as they are amazingly hospitable. There were some great special meals and music as well. American expats who live in the region flock to this place for the hot springs and warm beach, and they are very interesting to talk to.

The shower was luke warm and the power went off for a while. The mineral pool was good but it didn't look exceptionally clean.

Loved the pools, outdoor fire, restaurant, palapa bar, pool decks and atmosphere. Loved the beach that was right in front. Great staff. Good prices.

This is the second oldest hotel in the area (50 years old) and it feels a bit dated, the rooms feel a bit shabby but so much else makes up for it. We had a lovely stay at this hotel.

The food was amazing, I would recommend even going there just for the food! Staff was lovely, pool is nice and a beatuiful beach is right there.
