I had an amazing stay in Himmafushi! The owner and the hostess were incredibly kind and always willing to help with anything we needed, making us feel very welcome from the start. The room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with cozy beds that ensured a great night's sleep. The Wi-Fi was excellent as well, which allowed me to work without any issues. The location is unbeatable, it's the closest place to the Jailbreak surf spot and also very close to the harbor, which makes it the perfect choice whether you're here to surf or go scuba diving. I will definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing two weeks at Bahaaru. It's a beautiful old villa in the centre of the island. The staff was super friendly and kind, and the owner very helpful. I would definitely come back here.

One of the absolute highlights of our trip was staying here — everything was wonderful, but what truly made it special was Diya. The facilities were fantastic — clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. But beyond that, Diya was always there for us, attentive to every detail and making sure we had everything we needed. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine care made us feel right at home from the very first day. She's without a doubt the heart of this place — a truly special person who makes this accommodation unforgettable. The location is also perfect, just a short walk to the beach with amazing waves. We had delicious breakfasts every morning, and the sunsets were breathtaking. We were even lucky enough to see many manta rays — such a magical experience. I had the most wonderful stay at this charming little guesthouse! Though small, it was cozy, clean, and perfectly peaced. The best part was the incredible hospitality from Dia (staff), who took care of everything with a warm smile. Sarim (owner) was always in touch on-line arranging boat trips and helped with organizing transfers etc... If you're looking for an authentic, personal touch in the Maldives, this is the place. Highly recommend!

I can't complain honestly for the price it was so worth it, and felt like a very authentic experience

Where do I even begin? Everything about our stay was absolutely amazing! Sarim, who manages the property, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. He organized our day trips, transport, and helped with anything we needed—his hospitality was truly unmatched. The island of Himmafushi is absolutely beautiful and offers so many activities like surfing, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, and more. The property itself was perfect for relaxing, with thoughtful touches like an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach and a cozy outdoor table for breakfast or chilling out. The rooms were clean, cozy, and equipped with AC, a comfortable bed, hot water showers, and a drinking water dispenser—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfasts were a treat every morning, with a lovely spread of juice, water, coffee, eggs, sausage, bread with butter and jam, tuna, and more. Oh and the WIFI was very good which for me as a remote worker was crucial! I could do zoom Calls with video and no issues. Had uninterrupted internet access during my stay There are plenty of restaurants on the island to choose from, and there’s even a designated bikini beach where women can comfortably wear bikinis and relax. What really stood out to us was the affordability. Compared to other options, the accommodation was incredibly budget-friendly, and you can enjoy a delicious dinner on the island for as little as $3 per person. Sarim’s humble and welcoming nature truly made us feel at home. He was always willing to help and made sure we had everything we needed, which made our trip so much more special. Expert Tip: From Himmafushi, you can book a day trip to the Crossroads Island resorts and experience a bit of luxury without breaking the bank. We did this, and while it was a cool experience (meals there cost around $40), it also made us appreciate Himmafushi so much more. On Himmafushi, for just $4, you can eat like a king!

Hot water was an issue. They do have a water heater but it’s not on the main shower and no water pressure when in use. Water pressure you only get in cold shower, the water when hot, drips… so that was a bit uncomfortable… my room didn’t have a window, but on the pictures it did. The island is not the perfect place for tourists. There’s not much to do. Which isn’t their fault at all. It’s a very local island. It’s the island where the prison is, the rehab centers… so if you are looking for some local experience Himmafushi is the place.

There are some points for improvement for sure, but I’ll give a 10 cause they were extremely attentive and caring. But top 1, bed is really good, nice and comfort, nice pillows as well. Room is very nice and spacious. I ended up staying an extra night. Sarim was super helpful, giving me tips and suggestions. And Yohan a very nice guy, who served a perfect breakfast.

Water pressure in the shower is inconsistent.

I like the vibe it gives, very homey. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Right next to a mosque where we can hear the azan clearly. There are bicycles provided that can be rented to travel around the island and the breakfast is delicious.

From the first moment of stepping into Bahaaru Villa it felt like home! Everything is super clean, cozy and the whole place has such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. My room was spacious with a super comfortable bed, A/C, fan, fast WiFi and international charging ports by the bed. The villa also has a kitchen and a little lounge area with a sofa and TV for guests to use. The delicious breakfast was served in the beautiful outdoor area and I especially loved the really good coffee! Yohan - the housekeeper - was very kind and always around in case anything was needed. The location of Bahaaru Villa is perfect, just a short walk from the speedboat, very close to all restaurants and very near to the famous Jailbreak surf spot and close to both dive centers on the island. There are also bicycles available for rent to explore the island. What made this stay truly exceptional for me were the hosts - Sarim gave me a very warm welcome to the island, showing me around, introducing me to other guests and going out of his way to help me with anything I needed. He and his wife are such kind-hearted people and their hospitality has been an absolute highlight of my trip. I stayed in Bahaaru Villa for 20 nights and would always go back. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Himmafushi!

The bathroom towels could have been better as they had something coming off them

I liked that Sarim took extra efforts to give me a variety of breakfast- he made sure i get brown bread and oats as I had requested. From receiving me from Male Jetty to taking me around the island and accompanying me for lunch as well, he was very proactive and I could not have asked for more as a solo traveller from India, on her first trip to Maldives. I also ended up extending it by another day. Sarim's wife had also spoken to me multiple times about small details I wanted to know- they were just best, could not have asked for more. It was nice to talk about their time and life in the Police.

Juice and coffee at breakfast could be better.

Staff very helpful in arranging ferry, picking me up and taking me to the hotel. Hotel has other surfers which was fun to form a group, and outdoor showers and drying racks which made surfing convenient.
