How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt's a very comfortable hotel in the heart of Perast, which makes it a great and not too-crowded base for exploring the Bay of Kotor.

Verified reviewLocation and View
It is not 5*. No attention to detail, and lacking customer service. Does not have the service or amenities you’d expect from a 5* hotel. Also, no indication that it is managed by Rixos/Accor, as promoted.

Verified reviewWe liked the room upgrade, the spa, and the location. We specifically liked the Kenyan staff who were friendly and professional, as well as the staff managing reception. The concierge also did a great job on arranging restaurants and a boat trip It's clearly by far the best hotel in the area.
There was limited sunbed space and the staff managing the area were very very junior and probably needed more support. One member of staff who was an older gentleman who seemed to be in charge was very rude on multiple occasions. He threatened to cut the wages of the junior staff unless I retracted my concern. I found this unnecessary and awkward as a guest who was politely raising a concern. He was also rude to my wife on two separate occasions. I still don't understand why he found it appropriate to behave this way.

Verified reviewI stayed at Heritage Grand Perast twice within one week, and both stays left a lasting impression. The first time was absolutely flawless: the room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and continuously replenished, even towards the end of service. In the evening, the sommelier recommended wonderful wines to pair with our dinner, and the massages were excellent, simply perfect in every way. During my second stay, a few minor obstacles came up, but the way the female manager handled the situation was nothing short of phenomenal. She acted swiftly, efficiently, and with great care. I am truly grateful for her professionalism and kindness. Even after I had already checked out and realized I had forgotten my laptop, she went above and beyond to support me and made sure everything was taken care of. I will most definitely return, this hotel is a 10+ experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting Perast.

Verified reviewEverything The outdoor pool, the beach, breakfast, the room, the building, the staff Especially Jovan the bellboy 🙂
Parking is a bit difficult, since you cannot enter with the car, so you must park outside and go in with your luggage on a golf car. A bit of a hassle, but very understandable, since the hotel is right in the middle of the Perast community.

Verified reviewGreat location, friendly staff, good breakfast.
The hotel offered us "room upgrade" without sea view and with twin beds, while we definitely booked direct sea view with king double bed. It took two hours to solve the issue because manager was not available and no one could help us. We were just asked to sit down and wait. Next day we came to the beach, and there were no available sunbeds. We were offered to go by car to a beach club which is 20 min driving. What an irony - you come to the only hotel in the area which has private beach, and there is no access to it. Finally, they brought a couple of sunbeds from spa. Then we came to the room, and our key card was not working (small stuff but annoying). And no one cleaned the room during our 4-hours abscence and sign "please make up our room". The sea is nice, but in the evening it starts smelling. And it was my birthday trip. I wanted to say that the staying in this "5-star" hotel was a joke but manager Katarina was the only person who restored it's reputation and really did something to help and offered us complimentary dinner and massage. Both were just great. Thank you! At the end, it was fine, but will not return back there again.

Verified reviewThe hotel, the staff - everyone were incredibly polite and helpful. The hotel is in a historic building which added a level of charm.
It’s not the property, it’s the location. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the sea or the food in the area due to the locals dumping sewage in the sea(due to the smell). My wife is allergic and unfortunately we had to go to the GP in London as the reaction was quite strong.
