Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Israel😾They had Hitler's "Mein Kampf" on the bookshelf. After I complained they removed it and I never saw it again. 😾The dorm has no lockers, and the door can't be locked. While nothing was stolen, it feels a bit unsafe. 😾The dorm and the bathroom could use some paint. Though they started painting the tea room just before I left. 😾The day I arrived they had a physical fight about my early check-in.
😻Khbiza the cat is so cute and cuddly. Just be careful of his nails, he scratched me a few times. 😻The location is in the Medina very close to the market, and most points of interest in Tetouan are within walking distance. 😻The hostel is in an old house with a patio and a well. There is also a rooftop with excellent views and a place to hang laundry. There are sitting corners on every floor. 😻The staff is very friendly and helpful. Adnan even went with me to help me buy honey which is a bit tricky to find in the Medina! 😻They have laundry service for an extra fee. If you give it in the morning it's ready for the same day. 😻The kitchen is well equipped. The only thing missing is a microwave, The use of the kitchen is also for an extra fee. 😻The Wi-Fi is good, and there are many tables for working on the computer. 😻There's a cleaning lady every day and the place is clean. 😻There are nice paintings all around the hostel.

NetherlandsI arrived at the building, it was so beautiful. The people where super friendly. A lot of locals come to the place just to hang out because the owner is so chill. They invited me to have dinner with them and breakfast (iftar). I felt most welcome there is always someone up for a chat and they are super open minded! Great for solo traveling or getting to know the culture

LithuaniaThere was a weird smell coming from one side of the room. The shower didn't have a curtain.
The room came with a bathroom inside. The hotel building is quite beautiful and authentic and it's situated in the old town (Medina). Personally, I enjoyed wandering around and getting lost in the surrounding streets, but this might not be for everyone's taste.

United KingdomWasn’t a problem but toilets were 2 floors down so a bit of a trek in the night. Got lost in the Medina trying to find it as kept losing mobile signal. Again- not a problem as fascinating to see .
Right in the middle of the Medina. Beautiful style property. Friendly staff. Clean.

SpainThe cold shower was a good challenge. The room did not have much light, but the price was really cheap.
The shared area and patio were cosy. The room was okay. The location is in the Medina (not the easiest to navigate)

AustriaThe place really needs (at least) small lockers. I had no security problems, and the culture and context is usually very safe, but felt worried since I could not lock anything.. and with random guests and locals passing through quickly, and it feels very risky. It’s best to offer something secure before something very bad happens to one person. Two things surprised me. I could not get a good price paying in cash, I could not get coffee instead of tea at the included breakfast without passing extra.
Really great house, incredible cats to hang out with, the roof view, etc!

United StatesIt would be great if the guests were allowed to use the cooking facilities.
First, the staff was super nice and welcoming! I enjoyed the breakfast each morning! The location is great...right inside the medina. I was even invited to eat Friday couscous with the staff AND, best of all, I went with the owner and a friend to watch the FC Tetouan football club play against those losers from Raja Casablanca! I look forward to going back soon.

FranceNo parkings close by so had to across all the Medina with my suitcase but it is often the case in all Medinas.
Beautiful small Riad. Nice features. The dormitory was large and not overcrowded with beds. The breakfast is taken in an other Riad which is just a couple of minutes away and has beautiful decorations and architecture. The staff answered to all my requests nicely . (Blanket and towel) .

SpainThe girl in the reception doesn't speak english nor french nor spanish. Just arabic. Not useful at all in a hostel. The bathroom is on the ground floor, so you have to go up and down all the time. Breakfast is great but I was ready at 9 and they didn't serve it until almost 10. Not useful if you are in a rush.
The riad is beautiful, the location is great just inside the medine but easily reachable. Good terrace. It is fairly clean

Czech Republicroom is in upper floor of the 3 storeys building, therefore in summer really hot inside the room. No fan, AC just recently installed but without remote control.. maybe its for surcharge.
Relatively easy to find. My room was with internal private bathroom, and wasn't located in the main old house of Tarbeea44, but newly restored house nearby, about 100m further up street.

United KingdomThey didn't have fans in the room so it was hot during the night which made it a bit hard to enjoy the sleep. Also one one of the showers didn't have any hanger for the clothes, that is a must.
I liked the staff, very helpful. I liked how big the rooms are and the lobby.
