Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ArgentinaNothing! It was a wonderful stay.
It is one of the very few, if not the only, places to stay within the ancient town (most tourists stay across the river). The staff indicated where to park our car (were charged 20 dirhams for the night by the owner), and we got help from the parking lot owner to carry our bags across the river to the town on a donkey (another 20 dirhams). The staff were very friendly, showed us around when we arrived and the breakfast was delicious. The room was marvelous, small and tight which is to expect and is actually beautiful since your staying in a place that is centuries old! It was still very comfortable and we loved it. We had a little terrace where you could see the rest of the town and the river. There's little to no electricity at night, which makes the experience more enchanting (the rooms and hotel have lights everywhere).

The host is very kind and willing to help out with tips regarding your visit to Aït Benhaddou, with really nice breakfasts and dinners to supplement these activities.

AustraliaNothing. Everything was excellent.
Our family really enjoyed our stay at Kasbah El Hajja. Aziz was an excellent host. He was very friendly, welcoming and put a lot of effort into making sure we enjoyed our stay. He was also very quick to respond to any questions we had when organising our trip. We really enjoyed being able to stay inside the Kasbah. It’s special to experience the surrounds after most of the tourists have left for the day. The accomodation was very comfortable and clean and the food was delicious. We highly recommend Kasbah El Hajja. Thanks again Aziz and your family for an enjoyable stay.

PortugalWifi/3G can be a bit spotty in rooms, outlet charging only available in dining area and hot water seemed to sometimes be lacking but this didn’t bother us at all (just mentioning it as a note for other travelers who might be more high maintenance). Completely understandable “limitations” considering the context and location.
A truly one-of-a-kind opportunity to stay within the walls of the Kasbah. Aziz and everyone else went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even insisting on changing us to a bigger room so my friend and I could sleep more comfortably on separate beds. The house is so special, with great attention to detail and a variety of spaces to relax and soak in the unique vibes of the place.

South AfricaOur room was really small, twin beds pushed up against each other. But loved all the rest!
Amazing location right in the walls of Ait Benhaddou, made from several old Berber houses. Wonderful, warm staff, and delicious supper in charming dining area. Lots of little nooks and Berber decorations. Great views from the roof terrace (our room was on the roof).

United KingdomIf you're being picky, the bathrooms could do with a slight refresh. But honestly the room itself was so lovely, that this felt minor. If you're reliant on WiFi, this worked well in central areas but we found didn't extend to the bedroom itself.
A memorable stay. The Kasbah is such a fun building to explore - simultaneously managing to feel luxurious yet cosy. There's lots of relaxing seating areas to choose from and the views from the terraces are fantastic. Our room was spacious and exceeded our expectations, having a little seating area as well. As a bonus, we were even given the choice of rooms when we arrived, so were able to choose our favourite. The host recommended a car park, which worked well being just outside of the historic centre and around a 10 minute walk away (there's lots of cobbles and steps, so avoid taking large suitcases with you!) The car park gates were locked at night, so it felt secure. We paid 20 dirhams for one night. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and couldn't recommend it more.

United StatesThis is one of only two places where you can actually stay inside the Ksar at Aït Benhaddou, and what an unforgettable experience it was. Since there’s no electricity within the Ksar, the Kasbah runs entirely on solar energy. With no regular residents living inside the Ksar, it becomes incredibly quiet and peaceful once the day trippers leave. We knew staying in such a unique UNESCO site would be special, but El Hajja went far beyond anything we imagined. The Kasbah itself is a true gem—beautifully restored and thoughtfully designed, blending traditional local art, handcrafted furniture, and just the right amount of modern comfort. The beds were, hands down, the most comfortable we had during our two-week trip through Morocco. It’s amazing to think that the family spent six years lovingly renovating this place, connecting four family homes into what now feels like a magical hideaway. Inside, it’s surprisingly spacious—with a large restaurant, a rooftop terrace, a cave room, a small courtyard, and several relaxing lounges scattered throughout. Every corner invites you to slow down and soak it all in. Our host, Amit Hajja, made our stay even more special. He gave us detailed advice on exactly where and when to go for the best sunrise view. We’re so glad we followed his instructions—had he not guided us, we might have climbed to the highest point and completely missed the magic. Watching the first golden light hit the ancient walls of the Ksar was simply indescribable. Amit also shared a wealth of knowledge about local culture and history. We had a fascinating conversation about everything from Moroccan history and the Amazigh identity to global tourism and current events. So often, we choose places to visit for the scenery or landmarks, but what really stays with us are the people and the stories—and getting to know Amit was one of those rare, meaningful connections that truly made the trip. We only wish we had stayed longer.
