Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThe only negative thing is that the bathroom doesn’t have a door, there’s only a curtain, which doesn’t help if you’re looking to have some privacy.
Samira and her husband were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and the location was just perfect. The riad itself is very beautiful, nicely decorated, and is great if you’re looking for a typical place to stay at. Overall we loved it!

SpainEverything was perfect.
I spent 1 night at Dar Khalid. It's in a perfect location, very close to Jemaa el-Fnaa. The room and the whole building were exceptionally beautiful. The room was very comfortable with a private bathroom, air conditioning, and heating. Breakfast was large and delicious. This riad offers silence and privacy. The family that manages the riad was very nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

AustraliaAs this accommodation is in the Medina, it is in a traditional home. As a result, it is located down a few narrow alleys and there are a lot of stairs inside the building. This was not an issue at all for us, and added to its charm, but this may be a consideration for others.
A wonderful, family run accommodation, in a great location, which was close to one of the Medina gates and within walking distance to all the main sights. The family welcomed us with typical Moroccan hospitality, making us a traditional breakfast and providing assistance with all our queries. Highly recommended.

United KingdomBreakfast was same every day, would have been good to have some fruit / yoghurt rather than just breads and omelette. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding about the tourist tax but the amount asked for went up and on departure the owners seemed to forget that I had already paid apart from 10MAD. They said I owed more as they had partially refunded what I had already paid which was not the case. Maybe they just got me mixed up with another guest….
Clean, comfy beds, room was very nicely made up, excellent coffee and mint tea, free WiFi, good location down a quiet but well lit alley 1 min walk from the bustle of the main souk.

United KingdomThere's no wall or door for the bathroom so you can hear everything in there. We took turns stepping outside while the other used the toilet. Also our shower flooded our room, so we had to put towels down to stop the water getting out.
A nice riad in a good location at the northern end of the souks, off the main road. It's a short walk from the square on Rue el Gza where you will be dropped off or collected from if you arrange transport to or from the airport through the riad. Also many minbus tours depart from there. The souks are basically right outside and extend all the way down to Jemaa el-Fnaa, which is about a 15 min walk, or longer if you want to shop along the way. Our room was large with an ensuite. Our bed had a hard mattress, which didn't bother us, but may bother others. Good wifi throughout and a nice double roof terrace. Breakfast was nice each morning and you can arrange for dinner as well. The owner is lovely and speaks a little English, but French or Arabic is better. Her daughter is fluent in English.

ItalyI would totally recommend this Riad. Samira is extremely kind and helpful for everything we needed. We have felt at home like never before in my life. The feeling you have is to be in a traditional moroccan family environment thanks to Mme Samira who curated every details of this fantastic Riad and has a special heart of a great mom and woman. Also, the Riad is very quiet at night, and is clean. I will surely book again next time!

PolandI stayed at Dar Khalid with my family. From the very first day, we were warmly welcomed and felt at home. The hostess is a very kind person and was open to any help we needed. The house is very atmospheric and clean. There is a beautiful terrace where you can relax, an excellent location, and you can walk to all the important places in the Medina. I highly recommend it and we would gladly return to the same place!

PortugalWe booked the airport shuttle with Samira however when we arrived at the airport no one was waiting for us. We manage to get to riad by booking a taxi through the quiosk just outside the airport. So if this happen you have options. The breakfast was good except for the croissants which were very dry
Samira and her husband were very nice and helped us with all our questions. The room we booked was with shared bathroom in the rooftop and we had to cross the patio to get to the bathroom. The bathroom was shared with another room (total 4 people) and wss big and clean even for a shared the bathroom. The room was comfortable and spacious with a nice decorations. In the morning we woke up with the birds singing in the patio. The riad has a rooftop and is well decorated. While at first the alley to get to the riad may seem isolated and dark (if you arrive in the night), we had no problem walking around. No one bothered us and there were other tourists around. We forgot to print our boarding passes, but Samira helped us and printed it for us (but it costs us 4€). In the overal, it was a pleasent stay and we thank Samira and her husband for their hospitality.

United KingdomThe wifi signal was a little weak. The mattresses were also a little harder than we're used to but after some research, I discovered this is common in Morocco (it wasn't too great an issue).
Breakfast was amazing. It was the same every day which I preferred as it meant I knew what was coming and there were no experiments during the most important meal of the day! The location was also wonderful, and right in the middle of the medina and just a small walk away from Jemaa al fna. The lack of noise from the medina was also an amazing discovery as it can get quite loud there, but in our ground floor room, we couldn't hear even one engine or any noise from the street outside. The host family are the best part about this riad, and they were all beyond helpful and sweet. We had some difficulty communicating with Samira due to the language barrier (we only had a very basic grasp of French) but her warmth and kindness more than overcame it. Being able to tell how much she wanted us to be comfortable and happy was a lovely experience. Her daughters do speak very good English however, so the language barrier is not an overt issue.

United StatesDar Khalid was a wonderful place to stay for our visit to Marrakech. We were a group of 5 students, and the hosts did everything to accommodate the variety of dietary and personal needs that each guest had. The rooms were spacious and clean, but what really made this trip amazing were the hosts. Samira was such a wonderful hostess and did everything in her power to make our stay special (even though we had a bit of a language barrier) - we had scheduled tours in the morning that started before the established breakfast time of 8 AM, and when asked, Samira actually prepared a special breakfast (and a vegetarian one) for us so that we could still eat before we left.

CanadaGreat hospitality by the host. My flight landed very late at night and the host settled us right away and did the paperwork the following morning. For those looking to book this place, I'd suggest contacting in advance the host to arrange someone to come pick you up from the airport or from the nearby square especially if you're landing late at night.
