We stayed at Rif Apartments in Al Hoceima from February 8th to February 10th, 2024. The apartment boasted two bedrooms, a living room, a shared bathroom, and a meticulously clean European-style kitchen. Its prime location near the mosque, the port, and all amenities was exceptional. The host welcomed us warmly. However, being situated on the third floor without an elevator made navigating the stairs exhausting. Additionally, the internet connection was disappointingly weak, and the hot water in the bathroom was intermittent. Moreover, there was an issue with the rain shower head. Nonetheless, the host promptly arranged for us to use another bathroom in a different apartment on the fourth floor. The parking in the public area was secure and safe.

The apartment was very clean and had everything needed. We could even use laundry machines. The owner was very helpful and took care of all our needs. The rooftop is also very beautiful with a nice view.

A trickle of water in the kitchen sink, when both taps were turned on. Would take over an hour to fill up the sink in order to do any washing up, so had to revert to washing up in the bathroom, not very hygienic as to fill up the kettle from there as well. Also the shower fitting on the wall was loose, so one had to hold the shower head to have a proper shower.

When we arrived, nobody was there to give us the keys. Our instructions were to pick it up at the address of the apartment but without further information. The problem was that the front door was locked and with the provided number we first couldn't reach anyone. Fortunately, we met another guest who gave us access to the building and told us that the process was to just pick up the key from the door of the apartment we rented. He also provided us with an alternative contact number where we finally found someone that at least could tell us, which is the correct apartment. When going to that apartment we found that the apartment was not cleaned up after the visit of the previous guests at all (see picture). We found that another apartment in the building where the key was also available for pick-up was actually in a clean state. When contacting the host with those facts we finally agreed to take the alternative apartment for the first night and switch for the second night. I can perfectly understand that failures can happen but the handling of those failures in no way was proactive by the host and as such appeared quite a bit unprofessional. The overall rating definitely would have been better with reasonable handling.

For the price the apartment was reasonably equipped.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated making for a comfortable stay. The towels and linen were pristine and the king sized bed was very comfortable. Mohamed was friendly and helpful giving us tips on where to go in Hoceima. We wish we had stayed longer.
