Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Loved the Riad! The hosts were incredibly attentive. We had the pleasure of meeting Ali, a true gentleman, who welcomed us warmly and spoke with pride about the Riad, which was originally his grandmother’s home. From meeting us in the parking lot and guiding us to the Riad, to taking us for a beautiful rooftop breakfast and showing us around the neighborhood, his hospitality was outstanding. Even when we were leaving, he arranged for someone to help with our luggage and escort us to our car. He even texted me afterward to make sure we made it home safely. The location was perfect, and our only regret was not staying longer. We’ll definitely be back!

United StatesSuch a beautiful place to stay in Marrakech, offering the privacy of your own space with the perks of a traditional hotel or riad, like breakfast and attentive staff on hand when needed. You also get to have your own terrace, which is beautiful and cozy! The owners are super welcoming and really make sure you feel at home.

From the moment I booked Riad Sala Art, I knew I was in good hands. Ali messaged me straight away on WhatsApp, so I had his contact details before I even arrived. He then met me personally to guide me to the Riad, asked about my food preferences, and gave me spot-on recommendations for local restaurants. On the day I left, he even walked me to the taxi point and cleverly suggested I film the route — and thank goodness he did. (I can get lost in my own house, so this was genius.) Now for the Riad itself… wow. Spacious, full of colour, and beautifully renovated — you can feel the love in every corner. This was once their grandmother’s home, and that history gives the place real warmth and soul. Ali and his brother have done such a sensitive job restoring it, and it shows. The roof terrace? Breathtaking. The rooms? So comfortable and stylish. The location? Perfect — just a short walk from the main square, but peaceful and tucked away. As a travel professional of 25 years, I’m trained to notice the small things. This stay? Not one negative. I fell in love with the Riad — and the people behind it. Ali and his brother have other properties too, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to clients, friends, or fellow travel experts. I’ll absolutely be back. Ali — thank you. Truly.

NetherlandsLovely accommodation with great personal support of the two brothers hosting you. Used to be their grandparents house, which they modernised yet with the old character preserved. Great authentic, and fun place to stay including your own rooftop hideout. The two bothers are very friendly and go the extra mile to make sure you have a great time.

PortugalWe loved everything. I get a bit lost in the souk but the staff always helped me to find my way when needed. The only thing recommended is to offer chilled sodas and tea and coffee on demand, at reasonable expense.
We loved everything during our stay. Best hosts we have had during almost 10 visits to Marrakech. Lovely breakfasts, great, private roof top terrace. Highly recommended! We will come back!

This is a really beautiful, family-owned Riad that has been beautifully restored and filled with some brilliant modern art and local artefacts. It has a great private rooftop space that my children loved and is a quiet location, even though it’s in the heart of the Medina. The food was also very good and the owners are wonderful and friendly; And because of them my 12 year old and 9 year old want to come back to Marrakech as soon as possible.

The hosts were amazing. We were coming in late after a three day desert tour and really wanted to go and get a massage. When we arrived, they immediately made us feel at home, and even suggested us a great spa place and provided transportation for us to and from the spa. They made everything super convenient, gave us great food recommendations around Marrakech as well as various sites to see. Couldn't speak more highly of this Riad.
